The bird bit is actually a flying animal companion thing, most of the time it looks like you're just moving the head and the body follows.

I find it quite ironic that it barely has any attention while YL is insanely overhyped and Sumo is more established studio who proved that they can make games unlike Playtonic. They didn't even open pre-orders.

The devs have said that they're developing and running it on Win10, but not designing it so that it can't be run on other versions of Windows–they just don't know if it will work with them or not. Same reason their minimum specs are unreasonably high.

Honestly I think YL looks like a better game. I really prefer the jumping running and that kind of gameplay. I bought it, and I enjoy it.

The controls are super simple and work really great, but fuck, it takes some getting used to. You ever see security camera footage of people panicking while driving and they just floor it? I feel like that when I'm trying to loop my head around or under poles. You're free to go as slow as you want for most of the puzzles, but after going slow for a while you build up some confidence and then try to go as fast and elegant as possible, and then throw yourself off a ledge.

I'm 6 levels in so far, and unless I haven't been playing attention, there has only been one song playing the whole time. It's a nice song and all, but why advertise David Wise if this was all he did.

From how I'm going so far, it seems like it's going to be a pretty short game. It's exceptionally comfy, the controls are simple but still make me feel like I'm turning my fingers in knots, and sneks are basically puppies. 10/10, maybe wait for a sale, but certainly worth playing.

Spikes and hot coals are the only hazards I've run into so far. No enemies, but it seems the plot is building up to a boss fight with some sort of bird.

The dev I spoke to on the Steam forum said the levels get more complex as the game goes on, and it can be beaten in a few hours if you don't go for all the collectibles as if you wouldn't in a game like this. If you go for the collectibles, the play time triples.

Well SR&R was a pretty short game too. Besides short really isn't a deal breaker if it's a good game. I really would like a physical release though.

Well, if your system is set to Spanish, I'd expect you to speak it.
Change it in settings. if it's not in the settings menu, find a .ini or .cfg in the program files, then locate the word "Spanish", "Spain", "Espanol", "SPN" etc and change it to a similar word for English.

I'd like to say, resting on top of bamboo is better than wraping under. Whenever you come to a vertical shoot intersrcting with a horizontal shoot, wrap aroung the vertical shoot, with your body resting on the horizontal shoot. When you have to travel along horizontal shoots though, of course you MUST wrap under and over.

And remember that two (or three) wraps is better than one. Don't just leave your body dangling behind, wrap around multiple times on the same spot for stability going forward.

Is your windows up to date? I ran into an issue with this redist before, but it was in a different way.
I was trying to update my graphics driver, and installing this vcredist was the stwp it would just get stuck on forever. I tried installing the redist myself and it too would just sit forever, not frozen, not giving me an error, just endlessing going nowhere.
I looked it up and the advice i got was that there was a windows update that fixed this issue.
I can't say if that would have fixed it or not, because when i tried to run updates, it would just sit at 0%/0KB forever, and I could not get ANY reasonable answer to that, so I just reinstalled my OS and started from scratch.
This was, like, last month.

Use WSUS to update your windows, then it will be able to continue updating itself. Should fix the VC redist problem too.

It surprisingly fun enough. But I feel like im fighting the camera sometimes in certain areas. The controls take a bit of getting used to especially when getting the gold coins.

I got better at the game since then but I pretty much never use the grip, it seems to me like its only purpose is to hold you in place while you plan your next move. Maybe I'm wrong but I haven't found a good use for it right now.

I agree, the camera is the worst thing about the game. Sometimes the camera zooms out automatically on big climbs so you have a clear view but most of the time you're either fighting the camera or the fuckin bird is floating in front of your face so you can't see shit. Its hard to play and control the camera at the same time because you have to use your thumb to press A to lift your head and you can't really control the camera at the same time without difficulty.

This is good fun. My only complaint is that there has been no variation in environment so far at level 7, and maybe the level end screen looks a bit cheap.

Took me roughly 9 hours to get all the collectibles. Good value for 20 dollars. Just like with tetris I find myself playing this game in my head when I close my eyes.
I wish there had been more work put into the game. The base gameplay is great, it looks great and the maps are pretty good. But some new textures and not just palette swaps between worlds, one or two bonus worlds, a story that adds anything at all to the game, skippable cutscenes, rebindable controls, some tweaks to the camera, another song, a bird that you could trust to do its job, and another gimmick or two and this could have been a great game overall.

The game had promise, because it is tricky to learn how to climb as the snake, but the stage design is awful. Once you learn everything there is about climbing bamboo it doesn't offer anything different.
ALL challenges involve bamboo, no other kind of challenge climbing. And all there is for completion is hunting for easter-eggs, which makes the game VERY BORING.
You start a level, go through it, and then go through it 5 times over back and forth to find the last two collectibles you missed.
By the time I reached the fire world, I was fucking done dealing with this process.

The game needed a better structure.
Focus on plarforming puzzles, make the stages linear, and no hidden shit, and come up with more stage elements and mechanics to design challenges with.
OR
Make the game an open-world platforming adventure like Banjo-Kazooie or something.
