Nigger I had games in which I dominated the enemy lane so hard the enemy carry had to jungle but couldn't jungle either because I warded their entire jungle too. They die, respawn, die again and the rage quit. Best feeling ever. There are not a lot of games that let you shit on the enemy as hard as dota does.

Shrines are trash, raindrop is trash, ff is trash and those new overpowered mid game items are trash like dragon lance and echo sabre because they give you stats and another bonus. But you must keep in mind that both teams have access to those and in the end the better one will win.

What else is there to talk about? Most of the other shit has already been destroyed or nerfed. Before 7.00 Huskar could solo rosh with armlet only, even without lifesteal or anything, new rosh pit doesn't allow it anymore. Brood jungle was op, you could rush a 15 minute Dagon 5 and one shot almost all heroes on the map, but the new jungle ruined that too and the public didn't even catch on that one yet. What else is there to talk about? I think Valve is finally nerfing those new early/mid game items.

Every patch makes me hate this game more, I love my games glitchy and with exploits that make certain things op.

I don't know. I'd say its just not a particularly remarkable patch. The grand majority is just slight adjustments to talents, slight stat/cost changes in items, the jugg arcana and the new jakiro model, and then maybe a few weird things like the no CD SS or moonshard being usable on allies.
There are the general changes that seem to want early game to last longer and to have less gold to throw around in that time, but I'm an idiot who doesn't even play this game anymore, so I'm probably missing the full implications of everything.

Except the only difference to WC3 is how the turn rate acceleration curve is and if I'm not mistaken slight changes to how the order queue works to prevent some cases of premature accidental cancelling of spell casts while turning.

If you want to dominate someone because you are truly skilled without needing to actually bully (who the fucks enjoy hitting a defenseless bastard? where's the challenge?) ANY god damn competitive multiplayer allows you to do so.

Look at those two games I posted that I played recently, one of them is a fucking moba. It contains the essence of ASSFAGGOTS without the bullshit of 1hour matches, minions, jungle, gold, gear, level, just an arena with some champions in it to fight 2v2 or 3v3. There, a game that you could enjoy that is similar to this shitfest without the cancer.

In War3, units can wind up attacks as they are turning, allowing them to attack as soon as they are turned around. It makes them more responsive.
Likewise, if you order a series of movements back and forth or in a circle behind the unit, the unit will move towards that spot even if they are facing the wrong way.
In Dota 2 units typically have to turn the whole way around before they move or shoot.

I just double checked this with a kodo and priestess of the moon, who are some of the worse offenders, whille on units like Rifleman and Dark Ranger its almost unnoticeable. Kodo Rider is most noticeable, as you can clearly see that his attack animation has started well before hes facing the object, and fires once he is.

My point being if long matches are a problem. 7.00 is one of the best things to happen

Lately I've been watching WC3 gameplay because 7.00 ruined dota and the only heroes that I found fun where Chen and Meepo. I also looked at other RTS and even tried them. WC3 looks like a much superior game, but most other RTS' are trash compared to DotA, at least C&C, Warcraft 2 and Starcraft 2 I don't know about 1.

A bunch of people on here said DotA just tweaked WC3's abilities, but that's not even true. Shit like pudges hook, clock's hook, kunkka's x, etc don't exist in WC3 because it doesn't fit the game. Especially kunkka's X would be so fucking broken in WC3 because TP'ing in WC3 is a way bigger save than DotA. Not to mention shit like chronosphere, storm spirit and half of invokers spells. In WC3 the TP appears to protect your hero and teleports all your units around him with him. TP's are way more valuable though, and if you force the other person to TP out you set them back a little. Also some ultimates in WC3 are just basic abilities in DotA, like juggernauts blade fury is the ult for the orc blade master. Theres probably 3-4x as many abilities in DotA as there are warcraft, because almost every unit in warcraft (most of which has no abilities at all) is a hero in dota with 4-6 abilities, all of which are unique. I think this makes positioning much MUCH more important in DotA because a lot of heroes, even supports, can die in half a second for being 2 feet too close to the creep wave, but in WC3 for most of the game the hero can tank way harder then TP out. Imagine in DotA if natures was split pushing deep on your side of the map, when he got ganked he could take a few hits from the enemy team, and then TP out scott free every single time with his trees (that don't die during the TP process), however if his trees died they gave way more gold. That's the level of forgiveness I'm seeing.

I get the feeling dota is so much more extreme because of WC3's base building. Essentially you wall off your workers with your base but create a small gap (which you later use to block people inside of your base) and either start roaming or building units. It seems the pick counter pick is in what units you decide to build and what 2nd 3rd hero you pick up. Flying units are also a way huger deal, because you can literally fly a zepplin with a bunch of units on it into the enemy base and fuck everything up. Or you can get flying units to harass the enemy base. You also have to expand your base to other gold mines, which makes you end up having to defend multiple bases and manage them. Also the jungle looks less divided. Some heroes just fuck with the other player and steal his last hits and shit (death knight and orc blademaster). Also the game is based a lot on random drops that the jungle creeps drop.

The only major problem is shit like map hackers and the fact everyone in the community has been playing for 18 years, so the only way you can break in is by ruining a ton of 4v4 matches. However, it's starting to look much better than dota is now. Also if anyone tells you warcraft 2 is better than 3 they're just plain delusional.

A match in Total War is like 15-30 minutes

I always had the suspicion that many of the sweaty nerds that play Dota every waking minute have deluded themselves into believing it's a social experience.

I played a match again yesterday playing since 7.01 because I had to prepare for exams.Haven't gotten around playing it much more because I had other games to play and finish(like many fucking games on the 3DS,BotW,Styx,Dankest Dungeon etc).

One thing I'm fucking happy for that I saw from my last game is that the game is actually fucking responsive again.

For example,let's say you have chess,but you want to make some other games using some of the pieces.So you can take away some pieces,change how other pieces move/work and change the board to accomodate said changes.

Change it well enough and your custom game will hardly resemble the game it was based on anymore,despite the fact that you're still moving

I want to enjoy Dota 2 as a LoLbabby but i really dislike laning in this game. Harrasing is way too much Autoattack based as spells cost way more mana compared to LoL and laning itself takes far too long. LoL have the same problem in pro games sometimes but i really found laning to be boring in dota 2. I did not play dota 2 much but can you give me some tips to make laning more fun?

Is there any heroes that are good at harrasing the enemy heroes in laning? I am talking about top/bot that is most of the time 2vs2. I want some action in laning that is not just poking with autoattacks and lasthitting/denying. I dont mind denying myself i just wish spells did not cost so much mana early game. Like 2-3 times i use Lion Q i am OOM

And it is not like i dislike the skill design itself. After i looked at the skills of each hero i think there are many cool heroes i want to try. And i also like the fact that i dont have to grind for shit like heroes, runes and masteries but the few times i played the early game bored me

if you want something simple in the meantime go with pudge, one of his abilities doesnt even cost mana, but be sure to get some magic resist early on because it hurts himself as much as the enemy.

Lion is literally the only support in the entire game who doesn't need to manage his mana, next to keeper of the light. His 3rd skill literally lets him steal it from the opponent. Just get 2 points in mana drain and max earthspike / hex. In lane throw your spike and drain the mana. Also your earth spike goes further than the cast range so you can target it at the ground if someones far away.

Keeper of the light has a skill that gives himself or an ally mana, and you max his giant light wall harrass and just shoot walls at people from the trees. It crushes new people who have no clue what to do.

Other Lane harassers are:
Skywrath
Silencer
Disruptor
Venomancer right clicks do DoT plus your acid spray can get kills
Can't remember more off the top of my head.

DotA isn't league even though VALVe is doing everything it can to turn it into league. Most heroes can cast their spells 2-3 times and need clarity potions or soul ring.

Also lane harassers are the absolute most boring way to play this game and aren't even that effective unless your carry is one of the "If I get fed it's GG" types. Thats why you'll hear people from league bitch about how slow the early game is, because they play DotA like it's league. The early stages of the game, with people who know how to play, are the fastest because everyones running around killing each other while the mid and carry farm.

I would recommend not harassing at level 1 unless you have the regen. At level 1 all your spells are gay, they have high mana costs and don't deal enough damage. I would rather wait for level 3 so one of you spells is at level 2. At that point they deal twice the damage for same or just slightly more mana.

Split pushing especially is a strategy that causes giant butthurt and makes teammates blame you for not being there in the teamfight. Oracle and Zeus used to be heroes you can exploit to get higher mmr. A lot of things are calculated and damage + heal is one thing. Zeus is number damage dealer and Oracle is the best healer. Because heal is only counted if you actually heal someone, healing a full hp teammate doesn't count. But Oracle first damages your, then heals you meaning you could follow your teammates around and nuke them. That shit would cause you to get a high as fuck mmr.

Exploits make good games, and game devs are total retards. Just name a few high skilled multiplayer games, I am sure most of them have exploits who later turned into features. Valve stopped giving a fuck a long time before dota 2. When they started giving tf2 a monthly hat update and Christmas themed weapons like the candy cane for the scout, that's when it was gone. From there on it's just been them trying to optimize their jewing tactics.

I think it's more they where trying to be more true to the original dota than anything, because they didn't know what the players wanted or Icefrog had more control back then. The changes can be good, but not like they were implemented. The talents can revive heroes if they are done correctly. It did some good to a few ones but mostly buried deeper the ones that got shit ones. Shrines are not the huge game change everyone claims they are. I think people lose because retards chase the enemy to the shrines and get killed, but it has a 5 minute cooldown they are not a safe escape. An activation delay could easily solve everything

This is literally the only reason why I play dota. It's because of the extreme and interesting abilities of the heroes. I played lol for a little bit but never stuck with it because all the heroes where the same, but DotA has more heroes that function so completely differently down to a fundamental level than in any other game I've ever seen. Not to mention how their abilities synergies with each other and items. Just had a Centaur match. Got a early heart. For those of you who don't play Centaur, with heart you are constantly healing, you can afk under a enemy tower and it will kill itself on you. It also means you can constantly spam your double edge because you heal right away.

We are in this game, I am solo taking down 2 t3 towers because my team would rather sit in jungle and farm. They team respawns and I have to go b because I can't 5vs1 them.

For the rest of the game my team is jungling and doesn't attempt to push once. At 50 min the enemy wins.

good fucking game. I rape them solo but end up losing because team FUCKING farms for 50 minutes. WHY ARE THESE PASSIVE GAY ASS MOTHERFUCKERS EVEN ALLOWED TO PLAY ONLINE?! I swear to god these guys are so insecure they don't want to push unless they are 6 slotted. i fucking hate this game.
