A lot. Even on the off chance they don't fuck over the script, chances are high they either uncover bugs that the JP release had fixed before shipping out, or they find ways to insert their own. It's rare these days for a game to make it past them unmolested and not bugged, and if anything it's seemed like in regards to bugs they've just gotten worse and worse over the years.

In regards to WatHK, if memory serves, a poster on their forum with hacking knowledge apparently even found how to fix the bug, but NISA ignored ever patching it and thus the PS3 version had remained ruined.

The game won't destroy your console anymore, but for every 2-3 people I see say they had no bugs appear one or two will say they crashed a few times at various points.

I'm still not sure what NISA was going after there. I mean, was that meant as a very early promotion for them distributing a CE for the game or something? If so, I think doing so before the game's even been properly announced yet both causes worry amongst potential playerbase that NISA somehow got the localization rights again, as well as NISA overstepping their bounds since KT themselves justifiably have the say in when they choose to announce something they're handling.

I was the guy that brought up the usermade patch that NISA seems to have long since scrubbed off the internet, i could never find it back when the patch was released as links with the patch were being pulled down as soon as people made em public.

I guess no one else found the CFW patch? all it does is edit some installed data and is only a few kb big.

It's completely unavoidable. You flat out cannot finish the game, it will crash 100% of the time around the 2/3rd mark iirc. The crash bug can also corrupt your PS3's harddrive, by the way. And yes, the person who posted the fix was not only ignored, but when NISA gave the official response of "what are you talking about, there was no fix posted, the game isn't even broken" he called them on it and got banned from the forum.

Reminder that anyone who buys or otherwise supports NISA products is cancer and deserves anything bad that happens to them.

They were alright as publishers in Europe for other localizers since they didn't touch any code, but shit tier when they localized games themselves with game breaking bugs up the ass.

I have it on the PS3, as well. There have been numerous claims of a bug damaging the actual hardware. I can neither confirm nor deny these claims.
What I can assert however is a bug, occurring apparently randomly, which crashes to the XMB menu, potentially nullifying progress made.
It is truly random in that it happens under different circumstances and for different times for different people; meaning some encounter it regularly, some never.
The nature of this bug is probably the issue. It appears randomly, and cannot be replicated. NISA likely lacks time, workforce, and money to fix it.
A pity, as Nippon Ichi's spinoff titles all have a very special appeal, imo. tWatHK's game play is so-so, but setting and characters are really wicked. Shame only NISA gets to localise them.

If you can speed through that section, ie; don't farm for upgrades, you can actually get through and beat the boss without freezing.
After that, the rest of the game runs fine.

user, you can love the game and hate how NISA actively screwed it up and call them out on their bullshit at the same time. That's why people keep bringing the game breaking bug up because they wanted to actually be able to beat the fucking game without fear of it bricking everything.

I only remember one other thread here, and I remember it being the same way. Just because NISA is so shitty doesn't mean we have to make the entire thread about just that. The crashes are awful, shouldn't have been there to begin with, and certainly should have been patched, but at least in my experience the PS4 version doesn't crash at all, and I get the impression that the talk of bricking the console is people mixing the crashes in WatHK with that bug in Disgaea D2.

I just think it'd be nice to discuss the game itself too sometimes.
