I also played it as an adventure FPS and liked it. Good point on the dialogue. Games like Witcher3, DXMD (to name a couple) have excessive dialogue of no real value.
The major failure was that I couldn't faction up with the Atom Cats, coolest fuckers in the wasteland (though there might be a mod for that).
