Nintendo do release some Jap games with English as an option, but usually only for games that get English releases a few months later. They've done it before on games that never come overseas, though.

Actually, since I did some checking and don't know anything about Disgea, Wikipedia says Disgea 5 Complete is just 5 with all the DLC and English coming to the West. If it's a port, they'll just leave the languages in there.

If the Switch launched during the holiday season with Mario, Splatoon 2 and a "remastared" BotW (considering its release on WiiU this March) it would be the most solid launch of a Nintendo console, at least on the first party department. I have a reservation paid in full for the console due to an Old WiiU and games I got for cheap and getting more money on it through a store than ebay. Im not sure if I still want it due to how they are using an X1 and that Monster Hunter isnt announced or hinted at. Splatoon 2, NMH 3, and Monster Hunter are what keep me from canceling it despite all the bullshit they are trying to pull. PS4 only has BloodBorne, JoJo Eyes of Heaven, Nioh, and Persona 5 when it comes to games that I want. Hopefully Nintendo can get Platinum to make more games or just release Bayo and W101 again and I wouldn't be mad.

Leaked photos about the Switch's parts from China showed that the Tegra processor looks exactly like the processor in the 2017 shield tv. It's an X1 with some slight improvements.

Why didn't they just do the X2 and fix the mistake they have made for the past 3 consoles. The X2 would have been more powerful than an xbone making the Switch a happy medium.

I don't know if this is just with certain retailers or across the board, but the Toys R Us I work at is only selling the Switch w gray controllers this friday and won't start selling the version that comes with the red & blue controllers until the following Sunday. When I asked management why they're staggering releases I just got a shrug. I know we had gotten very few of the NES Classics and were sold out of them for a long time but we've got a shitload of both variations of the Switch. There should be no reason to sell one before the other.

The Switch needed to be that middle point, they would be in the postion so that devs use it as the base and then upgrade the textures etc for PS4 and cut back for the Xbone. Instead its the last again and slowly the support will degrade.

Well, if you look at various benchmarking sites, you'll find out that your toaster might even outperform the switch (x1 is close in performance to the 920m laptop gpu).

The Wii U lets you use an external HDD. I got a 2TB for $80 that I use for it. The biggest microsd card I can find is like $150 for 250GB. That's the biggest killer for me on the Switch, and that's fucking frustrating.

I don't really get the fuss over the Switch's 32GB of internal storage personally. I had 17 Wii U games and I only ever used my Wii U's internal storage for Xenoblade X's content patches to speed up load times and such. And even ignoring that everyone should at the very least have a 16GB micro SD card floating around if absolutely needed.

If you're focusing on digital versions of games then yes there's a problem, though it's still not as bad as having to buy proprietary memory cards like with the Vita or PSP, and the thing even supports up to 2TB SDXC cards supposedly (though they aren't actually out yet).

And people keep complaining about the 2.5 hour battery life, but that's playing BotW with everything maxed out (it appears that the Switch might be running in a high performance mode while running BotW and chewing more power than most other games will need while undocked, so most other games will probably get closer to 3.5 to 4 hours under normal usage patterns). Even my N3DSXL only gets around 5-6 hours max with everything turned down or off and that thing is monumentally underpowered. And I fully expect to see higher capacity third party batteries as well for the Switch (though this will require taking your Switch apart somewhat, but from the teardowns we've seen it shouldn't be hard to get to the battery and remove it as required).

All of the above; the dock for "TV mode" basically exists as a heat vent, power source and HDMI-out, which lets the tablet-style processor run at max performance.
Outside of the TV dock, you either keep the joycons bolted to the side of the screen and play it like a handheld, or slip the joycons off and prop the thing on a table (usually for multiplayer).
Nintendo are advertising it as "a home console that can turn portable", essentially.

For a new console without a lot of games yet, a pack-in should be expected, even if it's a tech demo, like the Metroid Prime Hunters DS pack.

Zelda is popular enough that they don't need to have a pack-in to get a >1 attach rate.

As a sidenote to that, imagine what people would buy if Zelda wasn't available at launch. There would be absolutely no enthusiasm and it would have to sell on hype alone.

They would have moved Mario into that slot and pushed Zelda out to the years end.

It's more likely that the macbook just announces that it is chargable through USB, and the switch by default charges whatever peripherals it can through USB, so if something announces itself as chargeable, it will happily charge it. What's fucking bizarre is a laptop that allows itself to be charged through USB.

What about on a tablet? I use a browser on my tablet a lot. If I, the average consumer, were to buy a gaming tablet, I would want it to be the only tablet I would need. For that to be the case, it would need to go online. Now, I would expect the tablet to have that functionality. After all, what company would be so retarded as to ship such a device without such a standard feature? Why, if the tablet were to not have that feature, I think I would not buy it. I don't want two separate tablets lying around, that's stupid. So what will I, the average consumer, do, if I discover that the Nintendo tablet I was going to buy, lacked this function?
