Dragon Age Cisquisition is shit, but you probably already knew that

I wasted a week. A fuckin' week playing this buggy, boring piece of shit. I laughed at Holla Forums's constant moanings about it and pirated the fucker out of morbid curiosity. I regret my decision. I don't even know what the fuck to even say about this game that hasn't already been said. The only saving grace from this boring chore of a game is the soundtrack and the Trespasser DLC epilogue. That's it. Holla Forums, are there any games that can sate my choice driven narrative thirst. Cause' this game didn't do it for me.

Holy shit, what a fuckin' chore this piece of shit was.

Why don't you play a game with good gameplay instead?

If you get started now you'll probably finish in time for release make sure you get that preorder in though

...

what did you think about the "tactical camera"? probably the biggest display of ineptitude I've ever seen in a game honestly.

Since you played it recently, I'm wondering if the dagger rogue is still the only viable DPS option in the game?

Back when the game released it was. There was a lot of complaints about the enemies being huge sponges but that came from people who literally didn't know the only correct way to play the game. Mages are strictly support, fighters are strictly tanks, and rogues are strictly damage, and it's obvious which talent trees make them the best at their specific roles, everything else being worthless.

Dagger rogues start with high DPS weapons, double-dip on their primary stat (gaining both damage and crit chance or damage, forget which), and have easy access to crit/crit damage outside of their primary stat as well, plus they have more skills suited for high damage than any other class. End result is they can do thousands of damage per hit when anyone else can only do a few hundred, killing enemies 5 to 10 times as quickly overall and having options that can even instakill dragons.

Used it once, never again. A half assed attempt at "combat depth."

Couldn't tell ya user, I RP'ed as a noble human warrior.

the font on those numbers really bothers me. it looks edited in.

Holy fuck.

I'm far too incompetent with video editing to do something like that. The video was mine.

I'll admit it took a few tries to get the combat to end that quickly, mostly timing the potion usage (not shown) and edgelord's debuff that I use to finish the fight (the debuff repeats all damage done to the target over its duration when it ends, so I use my super attack which does about 70% of the targets health, then cancel the debuff to repeat that damage again, which is where the 178397 came from.)

At a superficial glance, it looks like a good game. But the more you look at the details, the more terrible it becomes. It's not even gilded scrap, they just polished up a piece of brass and sold it as gold.

pic related

exactly. It could have been a great game, but the hamfisted liberalism reduces the characters to tumblr tier mannequins. Try to play as a decisive, strong leader and the companions become agitated and upset which ultimately results in them having a meltdown in the skyhold courtyard.
How the qunari are shown is completely inconsistent as well. Either Iron Bull is employing a shit load of taqqiya (he is a spy afterall) or they've decided to try and represent the communist/islamic barbarians as a super tolerant people if you're a tranny/womyn.
The other major gripe with this abortion of a game is the world. The zones are pretty gud design wise. The problem is that they're empty as fuck. It's a theme park ride throughout Thedas. If it's not connected to the shitty main storyline, there's fuck all going on in the zones. Even then, it's nothing substantial.

Is there a mod to make vivienne white yet?

at superficial glance it looks like ugly, generic crap and on closer inspection it's actually much worse.

I just want to make Tevinter great again

That they decided to with
instead of
will forever hurt.

DA2 was the closest we will ever get methinks to deusvulting the muslims qunari

And then they pulled a terrorist plot and red lyrium out of their ass.

It's not really a mindblowing discovery right here. Dragon Age 1 was already meh, Dragon Age 2's demo made me stay the fuck away from it with good reason apparently and 3 is an absolute trainwreck.

But I guess I can't talk shit, since I played through FFXIII myself. Don't know which got the worst deal here.

That 2nd option really reminds me of the factions you can get help from in DA:O
They really got rid of player choice in the later games didn't they?
I even liked epilogue at the end, its better than shitty colours

DA:O will always be the strongest of the trilogy, but that is a very very low standard. I wish they'd make another one like it but Bioware will forever be cucked by their 80% SJW staff of blue-haired multiculti dykes

not gonna happen
Bioware is going to axed after ME4, they're being merged with a bunch of other defunct devs

I tried playing through this game but by the time I got through the Hinterlands and to Orlais where the game is supposed to pick up, I was so sick of the grind that I just dropped it.

Source on this? I've been speculating this after seeing how little of Andromeda they're willing to show off to the goyim for a game that's been in development for over 5 years.

I'm starting a bit later so I can be in time for the crack.

I always thought of the Quinari as totalitarian buhists more then muslims, everyone who follows the Qun is supposedly 'enlightened' and even if they arent happy they are conditioned to be content with their lot in life, even the humans who live under their rule rarely if ever go back following the chant's philosophy. No one gets married the state decides who gets to together to have kids and they are rasied by the state and their profession is locked for life. Women are never warriors and don't leave the country.

Origins decided that was too problematic and made Iron Bull gay with a trans 2nd in command, and everyone is ok that he is a spy for some reason. "Hey this mercenary group we have is just a cover so I can spy on you humans for the day when my country decides to invade and kill or convert you all"

"Ok as long as you mind my pronouns"

you mean Cisquisition, and I thought they are all controlled not by the state but by a designated Caliph religious leader

pansexual i think, gay was too vanilla for the tumblerites

Yea I meant Cisquisition and the religous leader is the state

Regardless I am pretty sure in Origins they talked about how the Quin don't like degeneracy, there wasn't any alcohol or stuff like that in their society

Also I dont recall their religion saying anything about afterlife or how the world was created it just seemed like a philosophy on how to live life with Eugenics based hierarchy decided peoples place in society

cisqui might as well be a different universe, they really raced to the bottom

I kinda liked it when I ignored the ugly elfen whore

At least XIII has some nice ambient music

You know a game is shit when nobody even draws porn of it.

Jesus christ.

I can't draw and even I could draw better anatomy than that shit.

Sure Bioware

test

How choicey do you want your choices? Because this game right here has some choices. A lot of them are cosmetic and don't matter, and very few actually change what missions you play later on, but some choices can get side characters killed, and at the end of each quest line and at the end of the main game you get a rundown via narration of how your choices affected certain NPCs and the larger world of the game. Plus despite what the Holla Forums hates everything crowd will say, I really enjoyed the combat on this one.

forgot the picture lel

I pirated the game too, because sometimes Holla Forums is full of shit, but then I realized that bioware is full of even more shit than Holla Forums.

The combat in this game was actual dogshit. Oh wow, this guys immune to fire. This guy isn't, plus heres some arkham asylum
And most of the higher leveled bullshit can just be taken down with crossbow spam, letting you get high level gear/weapons for just sitting on your ass for 20 mins clicking away.
Fuck Witcher 3 combat, the only good thing about Witcher anyway is its design and art style.

Did you play on death march? You sound like a faggot who played on easy mode. Level 5 Geralt against a level 30 griffon, the bow and the runes don't deal shit damage, they're only for tactical shit like knocking down skyniggers. Not to mention alternating slashes and dodge rolling like a maniac because a single swipe can take half your health.

Half a play through on Death march, one full on blood and broken bones.
Well no shit, I don't mean just primarily monsters. Note what I said, "most of the higher leveled bullshit", ala humanoid sized fights for gear.
Oh cool,so Dark Souls combat. How original. It brings nothing new to the table, but if I want Souls combat, in which I would roll and dodge giant monsters, I would play Souls.

Don't worry user, at least you didn't buy it like I did. Got it for a reduced price for about £10/15 quid a year or so back, based upon some recommendations, the fact that I liked dragon age origins, found dragon age 2 begrudgingly tolerable and the fact that my brother regularly played DAI. Also wanted some crossroad keep style micromanagement which I was hoping for. And I can safely say that this was probably the worst ten pounds I've ever spent. Going from playing the Witcher 3 to this was a fucking atrocious difference, and honestly, at that moment, after not even getting past the fucking intro sequence and playing the game, I KNEW I would hate it, and I KNEW old bioware was dead And even then I thought they weren't even as good as Obsidian.. old Obsidian.

I know to most of you Anons who already know it's shit, my foolish mistakes may seem abhorrent, and rightfully so, but to those that don't.. There's very little to admire in a game so badly optimised, so badly made, and so lazily created that it essentially cuts corners at every turn. It's not even worth a pirate. Don't even let it's filespace take up precious space on your hard drive. Just let it die, like the rest of bioware eventually will.

You have no valid excuses. Literally none.

That would technically include Baldurs gate though fam

you made a mistake, no excuses but you've manned up to it so now be smarter about your actions.

It's more about where my investment went, I think.. If I had downloaded it it would have been fine because I would have uninstalled/never played it again just as quickly, and fortunately I don't think EA received a single penny of my money because I bought it from one those cdkey type sites, but I still spent MONEY on the fucking thing. But yea, you're right. I think the best way of learning is to experience things for yourself, and shit like that definitely helps with that for sure.

Hopefully the autism has been averted now too

...

I liked Cassandra

But yeah it's shit.

Did they ever fix the hair literally looking like human feces? I couldn't even watch gameplay streams of DA:I without getting nauseous watching everyone walk around with shit on their face.

Thanks for the insight OP.

Is Origins any good?
I haven't played a western RPG in a while.

What the hell? I finished Witcher 3 about 3 times and I don't remember these, did they add them with B&W? I haven't played that yet

The setting is stupidly generic for the most part but it's fun enough.

...

no.

Spirit Blade is OP as fuck, I solo'd dragons by running around as the horned bitch.

I thought all those pictures and webms of the game were clue enough.

It's fine as long as you have no big expectations.

A lot of people liked it here because it looked like a proper modern take on the old RPG formula.
For many more it was babby's first which is probably why we have a gigantic gaydom that surrounds it now.

That's a trend I keep seeing, even among the shit eating normalfags. They look at Witcher 3 and then they look at Inquisition and they don't like what they're seeing.

The writing was pretty fucking stellar in how bad it was.

I found the game incredibly dull. The story failed to reel me in, it read like the standard BioWare trash, only with people saying curse words a lot and my party getting drenched in blood after fighting a few rats, and the combat system was trash. I had to go install Freedom Force after playing Origins to wash away the stench of the combat.

It is, but some sections feel really drawn out elven forset and deep roads, the fade. Still, the amount of shit you can do in it as different classes/races really raises replayability.

That's what it is. The combat is the main selling point and if you didn't like it you didn't miss much.

SFM fags jumped on Morrigan in that game like flies on honey. Most do /ss/ with her.
Sera is just dirt ugly, only the faggiest would draw her.

Baldur's Gate 2 managed to have the combat not be absolute trash since every class can be ridiculously OP. They started designing DA:O by trying to make standard balanced MMO classes, rather than making a class that's OP as fuck and then bringing everything else up to their level.

The sad thing is that there was some untapped potential with the desire demons. We didn't even get them in this shitty game (we only heard male desire demons being referenced) and its unlikely we will ever see one of those ever again.

They could've been the stereotypical genie, fucking with your desires, or just going maximum slut. Instead they got taken out back and memory holed so that none of their progressive friends know that they ever made a sexy female character who wants to make people happy.

I'm pretty certain there is a desire demon in inquisition, but I might be remembering it wrong.

It's a literal soul-sucking sucubus. One of them is trying to murder a kid in DA:O and teaches you blood magic.

I've put a hundred hours into the game.

I bought it so I have to finish it. I refuse to become one of those people who don't finish games. I WILL TAKE RESPONSIBILITY

But it'll be the last Bioware game for me.

Yeah but the people who complain about it don't look that closely at it.

Well technically, there was a desire demon named Imshael in the game, but he looked like pic related unlike the semen demons from previous games. I don't remember absolutely nothing arousing or sexy about Cisquisition and if by some miracle Bioware survives Mass Defect 4 and goes on to produce DA4:Tevinter, it will be a miracle if they do anything like that.

Not only sexy characters either, I think these progressive cunts need to be reminded how Darkspawn used to bred in previous games.

This concept is so problematic on its own it would devote several progressive crusades to make Bioware check their privilege for coming it up in the first place.

No they didn't, i have no idea what he's talking about.

Nice blogpost you fucking faggot. When Holla Forums says a game is shit, it is shit. Hope you learned your lesson you mong.

...

Jesus no. People should think for themselves but that's easier when you can genuinely say you're autistic.

I got it for £2 from a bargain bin. I got past the intro and never touched it again and ended up uninstalling it because i felt the hard drive space could be better used other ways.

...

Breaking news right there. Don't buy White Wolf/Paizo/WotC trash to begin with? Why would you consider it anyway?

Posting my QT Origins Mage I just finished playing

She was an Arcane Warrior and fugged the shit out of Morrigan thanks to mods

Fucking

Origins has its fair share of flaws what with its shitty affinity system, generic plot, and the usual Bioware shit, but is by no means a shit game. It was a solid franchise-starter with a good amount of well thought-out lore and Baldur's Gate-like combat system, but Bioware fucked it up.

While they do hate faggots and shit like
but

because anyone even slightly traditional is actually evil.

Your mage looks like Brianna Wu

...

Admiral Tolwyn did nothing wrong.

You have pretty low standards of what qualifies as "QT" if that background NPC looking motherfucker is what you consider QT.

You got it all wrong. Tevinter is controlled by mages and its actually the female Chantry that keeps mages under control. On the flip side, its the Chantry that tolerates homosexuality while Tevinter represses it since the faggot mage's father in Cisquisition tried to cure him with blood magic.

They are going to Tevinter in DA4 if Bioware miraculously manage to survive Andromeda this year.

Thats why I appended it with actually has balls

I spent almost 70 hours completing nearly every quest. It's honestly 100% a bad game. The one good thing to me is it looked pretty, but thats about it. My copy of the game can't play the trespasser DLC and I don't think I care much to re-pirate the latest one to play it. Is it honestly worth it?

...

You blacked bull dies if you don't do his companion quest. That's about it.

Just that plot point is worth it.

Tevinter doesn't care if you're gay, just as long as you continue the bloodline. Someone in this thread expressed the/a issue with Dorian is that he's a selfish cunt. The tevinters cultivate blood lines with old-german precision. Dorian is from a very old house and is the only heir. Instead of marrying some qt mage and having babies, he chose to do a gay chimpout. He even states in game that there are other gay tevinters who just go have sex on the side and no one really cares as long as it's not pushed in their faces. His only reason for destroying his ancient family bloodline was, and I'm not joking it's in game as well:
and because his dad planned to use blood magic to try and compel him to not be a massive fucking faggot but honestly, who wouldn't. That was a desperate last ditch attempt anyway and he was remorseful he should've apologized to the player character for not doing the ritual, since that would've kept dorian in tevinter.

well to be fair what may look like shit could possibly just be a delicious rye pudding, however in this specific case it is most definitely shit.

Now that's some advanced jewry.

Imshael might not be a desire demon. There was another demon like this in DAO (you had to collect him by the parts in Deep Roads), and he was a Pride demon I think.

Are you serious? That's fucking bullshit.
Even on Steam the full pack for ME2 isn't full, because EA are fucking jews. It lacks Shadow Broker and other crucial shit. I would expect a collection to have it all. Hell, I'd buy it if it did, I played ME1 and 2 a fuckton of times and yet have never bought a copy

But he is a desire demon since he grants you what you want. Also no that's just some pride demon you can summon. The one that's like Imshael in origins is Gaxkang.

wtf mongoloid

my nig, never give money to biojews

...

I'm pretty sure "Charge full price for DLC and never ever publish collections" has been standing policy for EA for a while now.
What infuriates me even more are the good goys who spend time to defend this shit by downboating negative reviews on sites like Amazon. It's almost like these people want to get ripped off.

Yeah, I can't imagine how anyone would have allowed her into their party were it not to just watch the trainwreck that is her and further add to how shit it was.

She instantly got on my nerves, wore out a shitty joke's welcome in the space of a few lines and was left to go fucking hang once I had the option to tell her to GTFO.

Morrigan's tits in 3 were an affront to the universe.

A lot of them are shills though. EA loves hiring marketers of all stripes to make their worthless shit sound popular and acceptable.

jeez that doesn't look nasty, that looks disturbing, that shit looks exactly like the time my stomach ulcer popped.
what does it taste like?

The Qunari got retconned in the games after Origins.

Remind me what they were like in Origins vs 2/Cis

You meet one. He's a big guy (for you). No horns. Autistic about swords. Everyone in culture has a role. Men are warriors, leaders, and so on. Females are artisans, priests, and so on. The one in your part was sent to investigate the Blight along with others. Darkspawn killed them, he lost his sword, and killed a small family of villagers in an autistic fit of rage. Then he felt guilty about being a retard and let himself get locked up. He follows you around because without his sword, if he returns home, he'll be killed on the spot. Possibly 1v1s you for party leadership at a certain point if he thinks you're doing dumb shit, and tells you straight up one day, the Qunari will come from the north to wage war again, he will have to fight you, and he hopes that either you will kill him or he will kill you instead of the unworthies.

To Sten, a woman who wants to fight is wanting to be a man, is mentally ill, and should be killed.

Now the Qunari are tribal people with tattoos and shit. They also have horns, and can apparently indoctrinate members of other species into being Qunari. There's other dumb shit too but for the most part things aren't too different from how they were originally. There's a lot more emphasis on the religious aspect of the Qun here which isn't necessarily bad, but it's not necessarily good either.

Your companion, Iron Bull, lets you know quite plainly that being transgender is perfectly fine for them.

Of course, I haven't played DA:I, so I'm just going off of the footage from release. Maybe they patched it to make sense.

nope, that shit is still 100% there

The only saving grace of this piece of shit was that the people who used to use this board would shit and laugh at it while vandalizing wikis.

The saving grace of Inquisition, based on the shit that one guy who streamed the game showed the one who was being stalked for about six months by a random user for his voice, if that jogs your memories is that the protagonist from Origins (the Warden-Commander) is still pretty much the top-dog king of the heroes in the DA world, assuming he didn't kill himself on an Archdemon.

When asked to help out, he literally sends a note of "lol sorry, handling actual important stuff, handle my light work faggot".

Is Corphyrueydus (Inquisition Big Bad Man) the worst Bioware lead antagonist ever

I wonder if the two Anons ever managed to meet up and find true love.
It keeps me up at night.

For now, probably. But from what i've seen so far Mass Effect Andomeda is trying to beat that achievement.

Corypheus is a shit-tier villain who is just evil for evil sake and fails in every single thing he tries to do. You'd think any villain in a progressive story like this "did nothing wrong", but at no point he manages to stand his own ground or be portrayed in anything other than a negative light. I think if he was like a Donald Trump caricature like most SJW media tries to portray their villains these days that would have been an improvement.

In essence, the Qunari are just like Muslims, they are portrayed like the way they are in the first two games then and by the time of Cisquisition, they are portrayed as the way Tumblr sees them; progressive and accepting of degenerancy.

For me the saving grace came in form of a realization that you could actually get a Trump like character into power during the mission in Orlais by having Gaston de Chalons crowned Emperor, since he is hated by the elite and he vows to make Orlais great again.

Does Hawke shows up on this game?

Yes

It's Gaspard, and yes, he is the only real choice for Emperor of Orlais. The reigning queen is a dyke who is more concerned with getting her former favorite muff diver back into her chambers, and the third choice is the aforementioned muff diver. Much like Hillary Clinton and Huma Abedin.

Are you an idiot and why did you think anyone cares?

Thank you for correcting me an yeah, its evident that he is the right choice because he is the one choice that is greatly disapproved by most of your companions, while the one that garners most approval is reconciling the empress with her lover. Fucking Bioware.

My sister bought DAI against my advice, we played it together for an hour before she used the good game policy of EA to have it reimbursed even though the support guy was trying really hard to have her keep it. It was so bad it was funny.

Then she never touched Origin again as I know of.

He apparently shows up only to die for (You [False]).

Inquisition existing isn't enough to ruin Origins for me. A lot of the people who were there while Origins was in development left before the game even released, and even more were gone by the time Inquisition came around. Hamburger Helper and Gayder at least had some creative ideas at the time, but none of Helpers interns knew how to write and Gayder dropped any pretense of fantasy to become a political writer, and I think the other writers are all replaced as well. The games were made by the same company, but hardly the same people.

Wait, what happened to the Empress of Orlais trying to get into King Cailain's pants from Origins? And how that was apparently the whole reason that Loghain was as much of a butthurt piece of shit as he was?

She is that Empress.

Origin existing should be enough to ruin Origins for you.

Is your sister cute?
How old is she?

Origins did nothing wrong.
It didn't do anything spectacular, mind you, but it was a fun enough game and had some of the better dialogue and characters by Bioware, not that that means much (especially nowadays). It also gives a reasonable amount of freedom to roleplay, especially in contrast to what we get to see in the [current year]. It certainly has one of the best UIs of its genre.

Post pics of sister, go on you'll be a legend.

Does anyone have that employee review of Bioware on some site where it basically said it's good if you have no experience, but sucks because the only way to get anywhere is to kiss ass and play into favoritism?

It did ONE thing very wrong though. Soldier's Peak DLC spam.

Its because she was only interested in annexing Ferelden back. She doesn't want to couple with that disgusting WHITE FUCKING MALE. Do you shitlords even feminism?

It's the same one, just another hacksaw retcon.

Nearly everything from Origins was retcon in the 2 or 3.
Hell I'm surprised they didn't paint darkspawn as misunderstood refugees.

...

Eh, the balance was an abomination and the plot was crap. I really liked how you were in a rush to gather an army to rally against the darkspawn horde then started fucking around traipsing the whole goddamn countryside doing completely menial fetchquests 24-7. You can really feel the urgency and importance of your quest. They handled that shit so badly.

A bunch of the companions were shit too. Oghren was a retard. Alistair was a limp-wristed faggot. Zevran was an incompetent tool and actual faggot. Morrigan had no actual philosophy other than moaning and hating everything, no matter how much Bioware wanted to pretend she had some philosophy of putting oneself first. Leliana doesn't make any sense (a fucking spy and singer who has no accent training?) and her religious stuff is dumb bullshit too. Wynne was somewhat okay except she would constantly nanny fucking everyone and was OP to boot. Sten was a bro. Dog was dog.

The truth is that DAO was rushed in a number of regards. Corners were cut, content was declared done, and it was shoveled out the door. You can spot a lot of artifacts, both in terms of bugs and in terms of concepts that clearly went unexecuted (mage tower was supposed to have two different routes between siding with mages and siding with templars, but they only had time for 1 dungeon, along with the load of crap that was the fade segment, so the "siding" part became nominal; dalish questline simply hands you the 3rd option on a silver platter making anything else cripplingly retarded, because they were probably rushed; ostagar probably originally had a fade level planned for mages, but that was cut; you were supposed to be able to recruit your party members join the grey wardens and blight corruption was meant to be a thing but that was all skipped; and a lot of content is a hold-over from before they really settled on making the blight the big bad enemy which is why you had so much content that failed to recognize time pressure). Honestly after Ostagar (which was probably one of the last levels they worked on) they should have reworked the rest of the game to keep that tone in mind, but they just called it quits and shoveled it out the door, calling it a day.

Holy fuck that was cancer. That shit was such an abomination that even Penny Arcade gave them shit over that. Actually Origins DLC and expansion was pretty fucking awful in general. The only decent "DLC" was Shale, and that was mainly just cut content they declared as DLC to screw over 2nd hand customers.

it's funny because the game was in development for like 5 years.

Don't expect any lore consistency in Dragon Age. They retcon and halfass shit all the time.

Longer, I think. And yeah, there was a reason why they ended up shoveling that shit out of the door, although a lot of that reason was the EA takeover. EA had a rule that their divisions must release a product every single year + DLC to maintain profitability (after awakening and DA2 they realized this might've been a stupid idea, as the franchise and even the brand was tanking at full speed). Bioware clearly had no qualms taking forever to get it done, and it certainly could've been better. I remember the RPG Codex chased David Gaider off their forum (he has an account there, called dgaider) and made fun of Bioware for advertising that in DAO you would be able to "enslave nations with necromancy." It was a very kitchen sink design that was only slowly coming together, except they never got around to that final round of tightening it up and polishing it.

It was a modular design which took a long time to come around to the plot. They didn't even know what to do with the darkspawn invasion. They just used it as a lame backdrop and excuse to make your MC feel special and kick off the plot where they made Loghain the sorta-villain but they also failed at giving him proper motivation for why he would leave Cailan to die - Return to Ostagar got around to one of the original concepts they had for Loghain's betrayal, which was that Cailan was going to marry Celene, ditch Anora, and basically join Fereldan with Orlais. Instead they had Loghain natter badly about how the battle was a lost cause so he retreated (and they didn't even have Loghain make a case for why the battle was lost, like by pointing out that the tower and defensive fortifications were overrun by darkspawn so the pass became a complete deathtrap).

Ultimately they should have reworked the rest to bring it in tune with the Ostagar levels (similar to how Divinity: Original Sin started rewriting a lot of their content after they discovered they liked the tone they were setting in the opening town) and had more excursions against the darkspawn instead of aimless sidequesting and wandering about, but they just called it a day and released the damn thing.

Game still has a ton of bugs though. There were mods to fix a bunch of them but the game had the clear feel of a beta.

What the fuck are you talking about?

Okay, that was pretty shit.

Did they even have Darkspawn in Inquisition? There's still two more Blights to go for fucks sake.

Alistair wasn't that bad, and you could bully him into being less of a pussy. You could also bully Leliana into being less annoying. Zevran is complete shit though.

The thing about urgency is tat it's pretty commonplace in RPGs, though. Just think about the "crisis" in Baldur's Gate. It gets even worse in shit like Skyrim where you can literally spend years with a dragon locked up in your main castle waiting to fly you.

Balance is a non-issue in my opinion, but it does suck that Warriors and Rogues are shafted into having about half as much freedom in terms of abilities. It definitely caters to Mages.

Dragon Age got hit hard by cut content, and that's for two reasons - one, they had more shit then they were competent enough to put out; two, EA bought them two years before release.

As far as level design goes, the Tower is alright (excepting the Fade, which is only fun for maybe one playthrough), and most of the stuff in Denerim and around the Landsmeet is handled reasonably well. Haven is alright in its own way, and is probably the most challenging area unless you got Mana Clash.

There were a few darkspawn trash mobs in some underground dwarven area

I would pirate the game to kill this cunt.
Is it possible?

Not that I know of, I played through most of the game drunk and I couldnt even get to the end so maybe during one of the final missions you can kill her

You seem to imply the game had the chance to be good, when there is no proof of this. Everything about it screams generic fantasy world with a coating of edgy only 14 year olds would find interesting. I didn't give a flying fuck about anything in the game, be it the Darkspawn, the Gray Wardens or the moronic politics they had ongoing as a side plot. It's all trash, and you should feel bad for even blaming EA for the bland turd Origins is.

Also, the Codex chased Gayder out because he was a lying faggot.

You cannot kill her, though you can kick her out of the Inquisition at any time.

Darkspawn are featured only in side missions (you are supposed to bury their entrances) and are the focus of "The Descent" DLC. They have also been added as a multiplayer faction.

Its heavily hinted that at least one Old God slumbers beneath the Western Approach. But who the fuck knows? They are probably forgetting that Blights are a thing or the biggest calamity faced in the setting, since they are know focusing on Solas trying to merge Thedas with the Fade.

Man, I wanted to chop her fucking head off in public. What's the Inquisitor part of the game then?

There is none.

Considering that the Game gives you the option to wipe out the Wardens once and for all, you know, the only guys who can stop a this world-destroying calamity, i'm pretty sure Bioware doesn't care anymore.

Barely.

It's pretty clear that's not going to happen. The plan is to wake up the old gods uncorrupted and shit. Mythal has plans for them, if DAO's dark ritual is any indication. There's probably going to be some darkspawn related war in DA4 though.

That shit was pretty fucking minimal. Their banters and dialogues were unchanged, barring one or two cutscenes (landsmeet, threesome with isabella - also you can defile the urn without killing leliana if she's hardened).

He's 100% retarded, and so is the encounter you meet him in. Bioware was abused a lousy cutscene to railroad you into getting ambushed. The game makes the Antivan Crows out to be amazing assassins but they are shit.

It's still cancer. And Bioware is worse than most, with its tons of sidequests when your nose should really be pushed to the grindstone since all of Fereldan should get destroyed by the oncoming darkspawn horde, except the darkspawn do NOTHING until you're good and ready and you can take all the time in the world to dick around. Oh, Lothering also gets destroyed offscreen. It was so fucking minimal it was a joke.

It's Skyrim. Sure, Bioware is better than Bethesda. Not an accomplishment in the slightest.

Warriors and rogues have 3 types of abilities: Attack, penalize attack/defense, and stun/knockdown. They're extremely generic damage dealers with minimal utility unless you have them swap weapons for a stun routine. Specializations change it up a little bit. Mages on the other hand have everything from monstrous aoe damage to mass CCs to heals to instant kills (entropic death, mana clash) to giant defenses to power multipliers to buffs and debuffs of all flavors. Gameplay is fucking boring as a nonmage and trivial as a mage.

A lot of DAO's abilities are also bugged. Cone of Cold is supposed to have a physical resistance check but it's bugged so it's auto-pass. Arrow of Slaying is supposed to square the level difference, instead an idiot coded a bitwise xor thinking it was an exponent operator. Dual Striking is supposed to attack with both weapons the entire time, but one of the 3 attack animations is janky and doesn't connect (so you only hit 2 out of 3 animations, unless you reset the animation pattern). Lacerate Assassin talent is supposed to apply bleeds on big backstabs, but the idiot used a modal check (if a sustained ability is active) for a passive which is auto-fail and makes the whole thing useless. They never patched this crud.

They were competent enough to put out Baldur's Gate and the Ascension mod. They could have done much better.

Yep. Casualization and chasing the elusive mass-market started rearing its head a lot more too. Persuasion and Intimidation used to be separate abilities until they merged them into Coercion for some stupid reason.

I wouldn't recommend that. And no. All you can do is kick her out. Or I assume someone would've made a youtube or webm already of killing of her.

They are above needing people like the wardens, the next game will have the darkspawn integrate into Thedas and enrich them with their deep culture

If you thought it was going to be good after Dragon age We want the cod audience 2, you are retarded

Why would I even want to play

And while im at it, supposing the hero is still alive and on the gray wardens, isnt his duty to solve something as world threatening as mages everywhere cutting their veins and shitting demons? Where is he after the first international incident on da2, (they send hurr durr get off mai vidia faggetz), when all that shit between the church and the magi happen, and during da2 end when they alloha snackbar a temple? Where are the gray wardens, mages summon demons and they need an inquisition to stop all that shit going on, where are the demon experts? Where is my motherfucking character I dont want to play as whatever shit they designed for me

Every bioware thread kills what little hope I might have formed to pirate the game

Either that or make them so non threatening so as to be a joke.

Yeah, not like Jade Empire and KOTOR and their obvious console leanings happened well before that.

It was them EA kikes that made the poor, talented BioWare release consolized, shitty games!

I miss when you could literally get any your party members in the first game killed. Like when you could kill Leliana and Wynne if you desecrated Andraste's ashes, or kill Zevran when he betrayed you. Or get Alistair killed during the Landsmeet. Hell, your partners only leave you if their approval gets too low.

Pretty much this. Your organization is not beholden to the church, you don't burn heretics or shit like Warhammer 40k. And the game is more likely to push you through atheism rather than being a genuine believer. This Inquisition is a joke… I mean, the Wardens from the first game were more hard-ass than this pussy organization.

You know you wouldn't be ridiculous at all… Remember the Architect in Awakening? He wanted to release the darkspawn from the Old Gods' calling and integrate them with the surface people. Nevermind even the most well-intentioned darkspawn can still unwittingly spread the Blight to people and because they are an abomination inflicted by the Maker on mortal races, there is literally no coexisting with them. But they already turned Grey Wardens into villains in Cisquisition, so they already taken the first step into that direction.

I just couldn't believe it when this played out.Like, how is that even an option? The entire premise of Origins is that a Warden is literally the only person who can stop this regularly occuring plague that would wipe out all live.
Even if the Wardens would spend all of their downtime inbetween Blights fiddling little boys, you still just can't get rid of them. It's simply not an option.

the reason to get rid of them is that they can be controlled by corephyous

That's why it's important to kill that idiot. Not get rid of the only people capable of saving the World from a regularly occuring catastrophe.

Yes, but the reasons your companions give you shit for sparing them is bullshit

Oh user, there's plenty of Inquisition things to do! like fetch quests, being told to go over here and there, farmvil table quests, and overall being the errand boy.

That's the funny part, Cancerware doesn't care anymore and the choices do not matter, and the Grey Wardens you choose to wipe out are the ones stationed in Ferelden and Orlais, there's still more of them in Weisshaupt, so tl:dr, your whiny group of mentally addled and unprofessional agenda pusher followers should not be listened to.

You can do some really obscure sidemission wartable-grind that nets you a letter from the Hero where he tells you that he's currently on vacation in a far way land to find a way to stop being a warden but he wishes you good luck and all that.
He says he's so ridicolously far away that there's no way he can come back in time to help you but somehow your letter to him and his reply back to you only take a couple of days.

I am upset
There is so much wrong with that, but it's not really worth explaining. Fuck post DAO bioware

According to the epilogue, communications from Weisshaupt go completely silent no matter what option you pick, the difference is that if you decide to exile the Wardens, you may have doomed the entire organization since some believe they are on the verge of vanishing forever, while if you decide to keep them around, the Orlesian / Fereldan chapter will survive side by side with the Inquisition

Read the books user, they're still up and running, they got some "Genderfluid" Mage, a couple of dyke mages and templar revive some ancient Griffon eggs and some shit, this is just Bioware's 2nd rate writers doing some vague shit but they don't do anything about it

Oh right. Originally the Dwarf Noble was supposed to be able to become king. They cut that out. And Jowan was supposed to be a recruitable party member through the right of conscription. Speaking of the right of conscription, you recruit Sten using it, but he never undergoes the joining because Bioware forgot about that (which makes your conscription dubious as fuck, you're not supposed to use that as a get-out-of-jail-free card). They only got around to a joining plotline in Awakening, which had all sorts of problems too. And the Dalish Elf was originally supposed to belong to the same Dalish tribe as the one you find in the main questline, but they changed that one up for various reasons. There was still a dialogue referencing them in the Dalish Origin though.

They also cut the Human Commoner origin very late. And there was a time when they were planning out an Avvar origin but I'm not sure if they got around to that.

I'm not interested in some fucking "original" and "creative" vision where you rename the classes and races, make some fugly new character models, and pretend you have something totally radical and amazing going on. Jesus fuck my orthauriplex and parvul races are the bee's fucking knees I tell you. Would you like to play as an armslord, a darkstalker, or worldshaper? GOD DAMN THE ORIGINALITY. THE CLEVERNESS. LOOK AT MY SHINY SPECIAL CHARACTER MODELS. EVERYTHING IS BETTER NOW. LOL.

Look, I know it can be better than that, but man, quality is really in the execution, not the concept. Bioware had a simple concept with a decent setting and a working backstory. That's good because it's harder to fuck up and easier to keep straight. All they needed to do was keep that shit consistent, play more to the main questline and origin questline so that everything feels interconnected and relevant, and deliver on more of the crud they left out, including giving you more choices that actually fucking matter in-game. They needed hubs more like Ostagar than "greetings generic adventurer, you clearly have nothing better to do than my random set of problems, so go there and do it for me" which was the rest of the game (and completely clashed with the premise).

Yeah DAO's edge was retarded kid shit.

It is trash. It could've been half-decent though.

What do you think the whole "enslave nations with necromancy" thing was about. Yes he was obviously being a stupid liar.

Dude, Bioware is a posterboy for fake consequences. In DAI almost all of your decisions make zero fucking difference in the end. Remember Mass Effect 2? You kill Wrex. Wrex's brand new brother shows up to take his place like nothing happened. That's the kind of consequence you will see.

Oh, I agree. But never underestimate EA's ability to make things even more casual and retarded. Take a look at DA2, you know. EA will always find ways to make things more casual than it would have been. Don't underestimate them.

Holla Forums just can't stop playing with poop, huh?

Anyone else tired of down syndrome nerds and their retrospective hatred of biowar?

Not really. The dragons wander around and do exactly what they're being said to do in normal gameplay. Alduin may not bring on the end of days anytime soon but he spends the story running around resurrecting all of the dead dragons, then about three fourths of the way through the story he fucks off to Sovngarde to gather his strength.

He's not really doing anything world ending at that point. Unlike the Blight, which is supposed to spread astonishingly quick especially when unchecked by any sort of military might. They destroy Lothering and then fuck around for however long it takes for you to gather all your allies. They should have overrun half of Fereldan by that point.

Retrospective hate? If anything, knowing Holla Forums, some faggot will come here in a couple of years and claim that DA:I was hot shit.

I mean just look at the comparative shit between characters:

A prospective Grey Warden surviving in DA:I could very well have:

An Inquisitor has a magic hand that apparently gets cut off in a DLC or something. And I think he kills a few dragons and a demon on occasion. Newbie heroes are shit. Even Hawke was better.

That's actually true.

It's still a shitty implementation though, especially the after-effects. At least Oblivion closes the fucking Oblivion Gates after you've beaten the main quest, and Morrowind gives you some clear skies for your effort. Both of which are a lot nicer.

I agree, for the most part. Apparently killing Alduin makes dragon attacks less frequent but I guess since they were one of the game's primarily touted features, eliminating them entirely upon completion of the main quest would sort of hamper that.

I guess winning the civil war for either side changes the outfits the guards in towns wear. That's… something?

I stand corrected. Skyrim made more sense with its plodding pace than Dragon Age: Origins. I never actually played that game.

I have no clue why Arcane Warriors couldn't just get access to Warrior talents or at least have a second tree of offensive abilities and shit. That specialization was crap for damage dealing, so you would just wear a staff and a full suit of armor while you enjoy giant defensive bonuses. And tbh Arcane Warriors have nothing in common with DAI's Knight-Enchanters. They were just trying to shoehorn the Arcane Warrior class into being a funny mage with a melee spell. And DAI's barrier mechanics were pretty dumb tbh.

That thing does bring some changes though. Wreav rules the clan differently, his people bitch at him less in ME2. He is also not as obsessed with uniting the clans.
In ME3 if Wrex lived and you sabotaged the genophage cure, Wrex sees through it and you have to kill him. Wreav is dumb enough to believe it, and still offers support. So, for a renegade playthrough it is more advantageous to kill Wrex so you get both Salarians and Krogan.

I think at that stage they honestly felt a need to differentiate it so that it wasn't a complete joke to bring his brother back in. It's sorta like how you can decapitate Leliana in DAO, but she got better in DA2, and in DAI epilogue there's some explanation of her being a lyrium ghost or shit.

Im curious now, I didnt think they would even bring her up in DA:I

Its not even in the original game epilogue, its in the dlc you have to pay for.

How does bioware keep surprising me

Here. Now you can play Inquisition the way we have played it. On YouTube. It's not like there's any actual gameplay anyhow.

I actually played through most of the game myself with assistance of alcohol, I guess its better than watching it on youtube.

not only that but you can get the doctor who is doing the cure on your side if you kill wrex but if you didnt kill wrex and eva is alive you have to kill him because the krogans have a good future with those leaders so he wont want to sabotage the cure. its interesting because the "good route" usually the best reward but here you have to do the bad thing in order to get best reward

Single player mmo with none of origins tactics, position & order issues menu during combat. All that time & money they managed to regress on key features.
Cassandra the boring woman warrior, Solas the knifeared weasel liar who ruins the ending. Varric witty comments & nothing useful to say(2 shit games he was a companion), Blackwall or whoever the fuck he was, Iron bull & his butch dyke slave, Sera the ugly sjw elf lol so randum humour, Vivian the uppity magical negro, Dorian the frustrated faggot (a more upbeat fag than Steve Cortez), Cullen a drug addict sad case (in all 3 games) & the end boss who was a failure at every turn who was also a dlc from DA2. What a miserable cast of bastards.
The overall art & tone was too bright & shiny, almost like a bad anime rendering & a very child like feel to the game. The dialogue is cringe worthy & the creators of the games personal bias shows, they used the game as a crutch for their own emotional baggage & politics.
The main plot was retarded & finished quickly. All those fetch quests & puzzles can be skipped as they do fuck all to the story. How about the keep map operations, what else is more fun then waiting hours to read text about all those exciting adventures in thedas you don't get to directly see because your too busy picking plants & finding lumber & quarrys.

Use the magic sword you pick up from Haven. It's a much cooler deal and lets you use a shield for even more defense. There's also a lot of spells you can cast without need to sheathe your sword, though I can't remember them all. Cone of Cold was one I think? If you go with Blood Mage as your second spec, you can also throw on shit like Miasma and any other sustained spell to your hearts content, and just cast from your HP. It's not like anything in the game can actually hurt you once you're fully buffed up.

This makes no sense. If you decide to be a mage apologist Leliana is still alive when you're flung into the future. I am at a loss for how awful of a twist this is.

I dunno man. It sounds like you killed more brain cells than we did.

Spellweaver's bonus to magic (+5) is seriously inferior to the combined (innate staff bonus + staff bonus) spellpower bonus from staves and contrary to its lore text, you still end up sheathing it for a lot of spells, which I believe both increases their casting time (by adding the weapon sheathing animations) and removes your sword's bonus to magic while casting. The shield is a nice benefit, but when you're an arcane warrior usually defenses are no longer your concern, not to the point where you would throw away strong offensive bonuses to spellcasting. And the Arcane Warrior class has nothing useful for attacking with mundane weapons either. So Spellweaver is ultimately a gyp. It offers nothing useful to anyone.

There's no real reason to equip anything other than a staff, unless you're using DLC and want to equip Cailan's Arms for some ridiculous mana regeneration.

I feel like you're just trying to hate on DAI's cast, because these complaints are so weak you seem to be reaching for complaints. You could say that Solas is a bitchboy faggot whose backstory as a god (and apparent depowerment) makes zero fucking sense and whose philosophy is painfully simplistic and confrontational. But you just rush for hilariously dumb in-universe insults.

Sera was fucking terrible on so many levels. That girl is an example of someone who should NOT join any armed force or be trusted with any weapon. She's a stupid fucking kid, all around.

Strictly speaking Vivienne is not a magical negro. I mean, she's black and she has magic, but the magical negro is a reference to how an amazing black dude shows up to help everyone else sort their shit out with his powers of insight, wise mannerisms, and mysterious ways while doing fuck-all for himself. I'm pretty sure Vivienne is selfish enough, bitchy enough, and so forth that she doesn't fall under that category.

To be fair that's nothing new. It was made clear all the way back in DAO that the chantry uses lyrium addiction to control their templar, although Alistair says templars don't actually need lyrium and the chantry just does that control the templars (mostly because they didn't feel like putting in the lyrium addiction mechanic and they were too retarded to consider the ramifications that has for their own storyworld). They walked back on that in DA2 and onwards. In DAI they came up with an example of lyrium-free templars (the seekers), although it still doesn't explain how Alistair became a member of that order (he clearly was an ordinary templar) and how he could pass on those secrets of initiation (which are controlled by the lord seeker personally).

Being a mage apologist has nothing to do with it. Leliana is a mage apologist herself because she's all nice and inclusive like that. You just have to defile the Urn of Sacred Ashes to make her fight you (unless she is hardened and you intimidate her out of it). Then you kill her and get a nice deathblow where she decapitated. And then she's back in DA2 and DAI and shit. That girl never made much sense anyway.

Dude, Bioware just sucks at handling the consequences of the choices they hand players. They make everything nominal DAI doesn't even pretend to have meaningful consequences anymore. There will always be a contingent of free mages and one of circle mages, there will be the inquisition (it will be either large or big, but it will be the inquisition), etc. In Trespasser I think there's an option for an inquisitor to declare intent to join Solas on his quest (to cause armageddon and remake the world), and solas automatically runs the inquisitor down 'cause the game already has the route planned out for the player. But at least your decision had lip service paid to it.

Man oh man, Bioware a shit. And DA4 is going to try to shoehorn in more tranny acceptance (Maevaris, Dorian's favorite magister that DAI mentions a bunch, is a tranny) and faggots and freeing all the slaves and shit. DA4 is seriously going to be a case of going full SJW on tevinter.

DAI's tactical camera is an abomination. It sticks to the ceiling because they were so inept they couldn't figure out a way to just have the camera avoid rendering the ceiling layer and everything above it and even when it's not stuck to the ceiling, the tactical camera still doesn't zoom out as far as it should thanks to console limitations.

The tactical camera is very clearly an afterthought they never playtested properly which completely fucks with the ability to play tactically. After a while you just resign yourself to the fact that despite it being a party-based game you will have the AI on autopilot most of the time and just resort to soaking damage and blasting at enemies instead of any shit like positioning, smart use of AoEs and debuffs, or even setting up cross-class combos. You make up for the added suffering of having to brainlessly smash away at everything by making your characters more OP to blast through combat faster, which is depressingly easy in the game. In the end, the entire combat becomes a worthless sack of shit where you have everyone on autopilot and just wait until the monster dies from your high damage numbers. There is a reason why the game is better on youtube: because the combat is worthless anyway.

I think there are issues with making companions actually stand still or continue attacking their assigned targets instead of blindly following their AI, which really shows how much playtesting new Bioware did with tactical combat.

Is an invicible NPC

Why are expanded universe nowadays even more cancerous than the canon stuff, which is already SJW as Hell?

Because they're extremely low effort and almost free money. They don't really bother with quality controlling that shit. EA knows it's shit, and they know it sells just enough to be rather profitable for the low man-hours that go into it.

Gaming novels are pretty much licensed fanfiction at this point.
Costs the publisher nickels because it's usually written by some blogger fanboy or fangirl.

Just to be clear, there's an annual event going on in amateur writing circles called National November Writing Month. The challenge is to write 100,000 words of story in one month. Obviously it's not going to be very good.

The average Bioware book is going to be written by worthless amateurs around 100k words and take them several months of realtime but they're not working on the book 24-7 because they are simultaneously working on other EA projects and shit, and you have two people working on it, the writer and the editor (who mostly glances through the shit), so probably only 1 month's worth of combined manhours since it's low effort crap anyway, but double up the man-hours of dedication because Bioware is bad as shit just to be safe. They sell it on kindle for $11 at first and $5.38 later (I just looked at amazon). Paper backs are more expensive to accommodate for higher costs. Let's say around 40% of payment gets jewed away by others, so EA makes around 6.60 on a new book and 3.228 per sale. Probably, the book sells around 20,000 copies early and maybe another 10,000 later (30k total is quite a bit less than 1% of Dragon Age: Inquisition's sales). It's not going to be a bestseller anytime soon but the fans are buying it. 120,000 + 32,280 = $152,280. Assuming this is 9-5 (average month has like 4 and a half weeks), so 23 * 8 = 192 hours per month = 384 hours in 2 months. $152,000 / 192 = $395.83 earned per hour worked. Subtract hourly wage (which is probably dogshit) and it's still looking very good.

These are all rough numbers, but the picture should be very clear why they will shit out low effort books now. It's basically free money.

Y tho

Speaking of which, here's a decent DAO module:
nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/3496/?

Any mods you recommend?

I wouldn't say they're the only viable DPS option but they're probably the most powerful. As I understood it one rogue specialization super (aka focus ability?) could oneshot bosses.

It's playable. But I would sooner recommend Divinity: Original Sin now that the Enhanced Edition got released.

Bioware's famous contrived hard choices appears. You have to choose between sacrificing Hawke and sacrificing the DAO companion warden (or, if neither Alistair nor Loghain ended DAO as a Warden, the Warden NPC from DA2 - Stroud). Killing Hawke is usually he easy decision for being a worthless shit.

Awakening already moved to change the darkspawn from evil, mostly mindless horde to potentially redeemable and intelligent people. That was such a fuck-up.

I meant to say that $152,00 / 384 = $395.83

No there isn't, it's specifically mentioned in this one that Weisshaupt has gone dark (Weisshaupt is basically an empty husk anyway) but also there is no need for grey wardens since there will be no more blights and Darkspawn are becoming self aware.

Well yeah the canon ending of Awakening is that the warden commander allied with the architech (which is why there are sentient darkspawn in the 2).
That's the entire reason why they're actively scrapping the grey wardens. They're irrelevant.

We joke about nice darkspawn refugee vibrant cultural enrichment but that's an actual thing in Dragon Age, it wouldn't be surprising if that's the plot of the 4 (more and more darkspawn remembering who they were).

I don't remember any sentient darkspawn in 2 unless if you are referring to the DLC which I have played. However some in-game books on Cisquisition show that Darkspawn have gained some level of sentience.

Lets just say for the sake of argument that go through with this moronic decision. We all know that they don't respect their own established lore, but lemme ask this: how are they going to reproduce? I mean, they need to rape human / elven / dwarven / qunari females to produce more darkspawn and those things tend to be explosive breeders around 50 children can be born at once. How are they going to keep their own species from dying?

Well that is incorrect… Darkspawn are not formerly normal beings corrupted with the taint, those would be ghouls. The Darkspawn are born from Broodmothers, who were females violated and infected with the Blight to produce even more children. They were never normal to begin with. And no matter what, you can't retcon away the fact they are walking carriers of the blight, whether they like it or not.

I cant tell which ones are the most Muslims: the darkspawn or the qunari?

But if a womyn wants to become a broodmother that's her choice, bigot! its her body!

we just don't understand the blight completely yet for all we know the blight can even be good for us! its racist to keep those poor refugees out of our lands with walls and wardens! #darkspawnswelcome

Qunari are the ottoman equivalents since they're attacking DA's version of Byzantium, darkspawn would be the Mamluks I guess.

I get the impression that Gurrm's ASOIAF imparted more than a bit of its faggotry to Shitquisition and the DA expanded universe in general, they basically have very similar failings which reflect the mental condition of the writer(s): low test cucks trying to appear edgy and inclusive at the same time, which is already super contradictory, but since they don't know what actual edge and open-mindedness are like, their stories turn to irredeemable shit. It wasn't really apparent in Origins, perhaps because the concept was unusual for its time, but after playing all 3 games it's obvious DA4 will be even faggier.

DAO was laughably generic even when it came out.

I want to defend Minrathous by aggressively removing Qunari

Like that's going to fly in current year.

I know but:
dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Codex_entry:_A_Different_Darkspawn?
And that's the plot of the entire Cisquisition, original darkspawn are mages of Tevinter, some do have their memories.

Consensual healthy marital relations, just the way Half-Orcs are made these days…

Don't you dare tell me what I can't do shitlord.

What the fuck is this?

I can't recall if it's from a recent D&D or Pathfinder (Pathfinder probably).

So yeah 40 years of lore for a race (two in fact) retcon in one line. Same with Warhammer axing Slaanesh the tranny god of Chaos… Bioware is the tip of the iceberg.
Haven't you noticed it's current year.

I wouldn't call a political marriage to seal an alliance a consensual marital relation.

I know very little of orcs in either of those, how violent they are and so on but interspecies marital agreements in a setting like that can't help but sound anything other than fucking retarded. I'm grateful at this point that there isn't an Arcanum 2. Them sticking with ogre rape factories in this climate is unlikely.

What?!

That seems kinda' like the Wraiths from Stargate: Atlantis, but lamer.

Not 40k, he's talking about Warhammer Fantasy. Dumping a chaos god is among the least of its sins. They destroyed the entire setting, and made a new, more 40k-like dumbed down one.

That is true for the Tevinter Magisters that became corrupted, but no way they could apply the "remember who they used to be" to those born from Broodmothers, who make up large majority of the darkspawn race, since they are abominations that were never normal to begin with.

Also I am pretty sure that Codex Entry must be referring to one of the Architect's disciples from Awakening (the one who fought against bandits to save folk while unwillingly spreading the Blight on them) and the Magisters

Also
I know you are half-joking, but lets see how they do are gonna pull this, since women have to be mutated into sedentary baby factories. You either settle down to become a mother or you refuse to couple with a subhuman race and become a bigot. Either way they will betray feminism :^)

How were Mamluks anything like darkspawn?

Its probably no coincidence that the Tevinter chantry was obviously meant to be Orthodox Christianity.

This, bioware is dead. Even if me4 won't flop the way everyone everywhere expect it to flop, bioware is a shithole. People keeping talent down because of jealousy, politics and friendship make careers instead of meritocracy. It looks like some government founded agency. But there's ea in the lead, the wasted money is not from taxpayers. Bioware will by killed or at the very least gutted.

DA4 would be much more interesting if you help Solas and watch the world burn.

That's 5E D&D. /tg/'s had threads on SJW cancer.

Again you're right (and I know that lore) but you're kind of missing my point.
My point is, as they already have done for the Qunari, I except them to do an hatchet-job retcon that makes no sense about the Darkspawn.

You're arguing that "if they do that it won't make sense" when I'm saying "they already started and it's gonna be funny how much it won't make sense".

The lore in DA:O was written cohesively, interestingly by people that were obviously competent.
It has then been butchered little by little to the point I'm excepting them to retcon pretty much everything aspect of it.

The only good Dragon Age game is Origins because it was made as an infinity engine successor game, and was a cool and good, if dumbed down game.

I only came here to post this. Carry on.

Honestly I consider the engine the worst part of DAO. But at least DAO has mod support. If DAI had mod support we might be seeing some hot shit in an otherwise worthless game, but EA gonna EA.

it was not. I have no idea why anyone on Holla Forums thought it was special in anyway

he might be referencing the one deluding a guard into thinking he'd married her and was living ina woods with happy children.

The one in the mage tower? He'd be dead within days, just like all the rest. Cullen had the right idea.

You mean besides turning Elves into Jews and trying to make you feel pity for them? Or the way they treated Mages as poor minority oppressed by religious fanatics? That franchise had the SJW stench from the first day.

BioWare are retards.

They did, obviously. DA2/DA:I was too politically correct to have a great character like Sazh. XIII-2/LR probably fucked his character up completely, though. Wouldn't know, I never play sequels to FF installments because I don't want to encourage them to waste decades on a single story/setting that was barely worth telling in the first installment.

He literally falls off the edge of the universe in the second game and I don't think is even mentioned in the third.

Right, those elven banks in DAO are really a thing. If you think any segregated and downtrodden community = jews, that says more about you to be honest.

The mistake you made is to think what you as a normal person saw, is the same thing the social marxist by BioWare saw. Those mages could be eating babies for sexual gratification in front of the player and those people would blame the medievilish society in DAO instead and just see a fellow academic oppressed by evil religious fascist. Actions have no meaning for these people, they are only interested in labels defined by social political theories. What you saw as a interesting conflict for them was merely a concept to call out for all the like minded people, who enjoy the shit the later games became.

Thats not the point, the thing is that they additionally have the danger of being breed out of existence by humans. A poor oppressed minority that calls for more rights, but at the same time claims for itself the right to remain racialy pure and segregated from the majority, where have I heard such a thing before?

lol. There is none. And your whole crew is full of heretics. And you get to do some quality heresy yourself too, praise [elven god] and all that. If this were a proper inquisition there'd be loads of heresy to purge in your own org. Technically there are a few sections where you can condemn people after your leisure, but that shit's practically for show.

DAI's fetch quests are completely asinine. 90% of the game is straight time-wasting shit so you explore those shiny graphics that you will cease to give a shit about like 10 minutes into the game. Shit's even worse than the sidequest crud from DA2 and DAO. At least those sidequests were optional. DAI says you have to fuck around doing worthless crud until the next story section unlocks. What fucking imbecile called that good design.

That's like shoddy suspense shit. The books just established that the gryphons had been rediscovered or shit.

That one made no sense. Both the templar and the demon just vanish if you let them. Teleportation is impossible in DAO lore, so where the fuck did they go.

I think at some point you're no longer focusing on the game but just going full Holla Forums, and it's bad Holla Forums too. There are the smart Holla Forumsacks who make sure to employ the laws of syllogism and evidence in their analyses, and then there are the Holla Forumsacks who suddenly start throwing Holla Forums rants by interpreting random things as Holla Forums related and going on wild tangents where the original topic was lost and the connection to your Holla Forums crud is tenuous at best. You're in the second group, user. Please study the law of syllogism, it is a wonderful way to ensure thoughtful discourse.

...

The Inquisition didn't even took orders from the church itself, it was an independent organization from the very start so they might as well take help from whoever offered it :^)

But seriously this is a bad joke. Even if you tried to make your character a believer, it makes you a double hypocrite to allow these heretics all around you.

I don't read the books but oh well… These people know how to defuse something tense.

user, did you know Qunari mages could teleport in DA2? And all mage enemies in DAI as well.

You teleport a noble inside the Tower if you do a little sidequest in DAO. He doesn't say much, but you can pickpocket him for some nice stuff.

user what greater evidence is there then the sequels? You look at Dragon Age Origin and wonder how this could have happen, but it is easy to see that the well was poisoned from the beginning by the concepts it employed, because these concepts had to come from a school of thoughts. And the way societies in Dragon Age Origins are constructed is not the traditional way how the fantasy genre has build fictional societies, but it is clearly from the standpoint how contemporary academia thinks societies work. I am also not saying this as a Holla Forumsack, but as a experienced fa/tg/uy. This taint of corrupted concepts is real, there are several tabletop RPGs that have suffered the same fate. When you see an RPG that builds its world in a similar fashion to Dragon Age Origins, you will instantly know what kind of people are behind it and where the show is going.

You're kidding. It's not another case of Trainheads, is it? I mean, nobody can be as incompetent as fucking Bethesda, right?

Bethesda is the baseline for competence in this industry.

God, you're right. When did the industry sink this low?

Alpha Protocol tracks your choices you didn't even know you were making
entire plots can be avoided
you aren't even guaranteed to meet every major character
the order you do each region matters
fucking off from one region to another without finishing the mission will matter
being stealthy vs guns blazing matters
lethal vs non-lethal matters
killing a guy by accident matters
having a guy's drug dealer lace his coke matters
getting on your handlers' good side REALLY matters and one of them will abandon his post lategame to help you out with a minigun
in one ending you can end up smoking cigars with the villain AND IT FUCKING MAKES SENSE

EA is a revolving door, man. If your company gets bought out by EA you might stick around to finish your project but then you fuck off. Bioware has been bleeding talent and staff hard from the moment they finished DAO. DA2 was also rushed as fuck by the EA overlords and made a very persuasive case for abandoning ship. In the gaming industry, you don't want to list a flop under your job experience. It can actually adjust your wages and career down to have worked on shit projects. By the time DAI rolled around old Bioware was basically already dead. It's just a name and brand now.

This is actually true, judging by all the retarded Skyrim clones.
