Damn, seeing this is so refreshing. I live in the south, too, and I've seen people in my family and my general area who see similarly to this Nic fellow. Trump really got the south good, but on the other hand, if it can be shown that Socialism can be utilized to meet the concerns of these people, I can see the this area of the states going red. Maybe it's just wishful thinking, but it's worth a shot.

I am from the South too and I persoally think that the south is prime real estate for the growth of socialist sentiments in the United States, a majority of the countries poor live in the south and honestly the places that stand to benefit the most from socialism are southern states where there is more wealth disparity, poverty, and a well armed population with a fighting rebel anti authoritarian spirit that runs all the way back to the civil war, we just have to get them to get rid of some of their worst and most reactionary tendencies, and racism in the upcoming generations is basically non existent. It will be glorious to see the rise of the let in America in 20 years.

No, he's an actual worker who thus feels the actual consequences of reform; there's no doctrine of socialism that dictates total disengagement with reforms that can still better the life of others. Additionally, by participating in these organizations like "Fight for 15," he is both able to strengthen public acceptance of opposing the opinion of corporate elites (ie don't raise the minimum wage) while spreading his ideology among people susceptible to that kind of thought. This man is an amazingly talented entryist – just look at Jimmy's reactions after Nic makes overtly anti-capitalist statements.
I think Nic could do amazing work spreading leftism to communities that the more academic minded folk of this board have problems reaching.
