What's up dudes, no trip due to being in a South Asian Internet cafe.

But the reason I haven't began making content is because I've decided I have four options:

1. Show my face in videos in which I'll talk about what will obviously be revolutionary topics that might get me in trouble professionally. I'm a twenty something looking for a some way to trade my labor for calories, and I can't do that if I'm searched up and found to be an ardent socialist who was lying when he said he was committed to your shitty labor exploiting enterprise. Instead of the handsome veteran who you hired, im the undercover socialist who would burn it to the ground first chance he got. These would be like Jimmy Dore/Stephen Crowder type productions where I'd use my charisma to spread the message and inform people, hopefully to show them that not all socialists (I like you as a person Muke, but it's truth) are young teenagers who have no life experience.

2. Make animation type videos akin to PragerU. But I don't know how to animate, and as a film maker I'm obviously amateur tier and would hurt what I'm trying to do (keep things polished and clean) rather than help socialism.

3. Make podcasts, and just smoke weed and rant like I do with my roommates. I'm a very coherent speaker (took classes and even got into a professional internship where we had workshops where prominent community members would come and help us learn how to network and speak etc.), and a fairly charismatic dude (thank you bartending) so I think this is my best option.

4. Don a mask and make the videos I referenced in option 1 above. I might also have to modify my voice, but this obviously nullifies every positive aspect (image wise) of option 1.

So, like I said above I'm leaning towards podcasts unless I can team with someone to help me animate. I have lists of video topics and ideas to speak about, I have scripts. I just need someone who is in contact with, or is themselves an animator who can help me produce the socialist answer to PragerU. Or maybe we can crowdfund to find one? Either way, I need help.

I was also thinking of making a bid to email the dudes @ ChapoTrapHouse to maybe audition to join their show. Would anyone maybe email in support if you like the cut of my jib?

Go try things, get into unfamiliar situations and talk to people you never would've talked to. For me, that was the military. I went in a young man forever talking about politics and I came out much, much different than my sixteen year old self (who by the way, blogged way back when that I would never abandon my ideals of Jeffersonian libertarianism) as can be exemplified by my posting on a communist board.

Anyway, saying you're children doesn't mean to denigrate any of you. It's just saying that you're still developing, and as far as people taking your ideas seriously it's a reaction akin to "we've been there, wanting to be taken seriously as a teenager." But you have so much change ahead that you won't recognize yourself in a decade, and the same process will happen well into your forties even. And if it doesn't something went very, very wrong.

I also would not be too worried about this hurting your job opportunities in any case, unless you're already precariously situated (e.g. hard-to-hire in an industry with no union) or you're in an industry where serious political involvement is looked down upon (e.g. you'll be a public face).
If anything, as long as you're not unironically calling for the assassination of property owners, it might increase your ""hire-ability."" Most employers won't see "subversive leftist who's going to kill the company at first chance," they'll see "passion driven employee with productive hobbies."
Depending on the type of content, you could also look into doing some 'test-content' with low-level animation and editing, maybe just talking over stock-footage or a name-card of sorts. It feels weird and awkward at the amount of editing Rebel does, but if one puts a bit more effort into it, it can get a lot better without too many resources or putting too high demands on skill, tons of examples on yt of this working fine.
The degree to which this can work of course depends a lot on the type of content though.

I've been on this board every week for well over a year now, and I can't recall a single instance of AW or Rebel making a decent post about anything related to the left, and I'm broadly speaking and including the marxists, the anarchists, and even mainstream center-left. They don't post news, they don't post history, they don't post stats or witty doodles, nothing.

I see a few posts in defense of them, claiming how well-read or insightful these guys are, somehow these never come with actual examples. I see people occasionally posting some "hilarious" thing where either of these guys got blown the fuck out, debunked, etc. and there is never anything special about these screenshots, ALL their interactions with the rest of the board I can recall have looked like that. It would be actually hilarious if it wasn't so repetitive, and it's repetitiveness goes well beyond being boring into being morbid. How can people this unaware of anything actually exist?
