ITT:Games that were seen as mediocre or bad during release but now considered a masterpiece.

Aaaah, this thread is gonna be a cancerous shitshow.

Fuck you

Don't people still think deadly premonition is shit, but it was campy and stupid so some people liked it?

...

Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines
Dragons Dogma
EYE Divine Cybermancy

Step it up, senpais.

I'm honestly being serious. MGS2 while praised for the gameplay was just shitted on for years because of the story. Now it's seen as a deep analysis and critique of society and the internet culture.

Deadly premonition was just seen as a bad game but as the years went by people discovered the fun and quirky cast of characters in a strange story.

Dead Rising was hated because of the timers. escort and all kinds of shit but that's the reason it's appreciated today.

The combat was the only bad thing about it.

I saw some clips of the writing, and it was laughably bad, are you sure?

...

Zelda 2

the writing is shit in places but it's the most absurd and outlandish game. Hell just sitting through all the cinematics of one possible outcome of events takes 30 min.

Best redpill game.

Every fucking Zelda game for that matter.

Does anyone have a solution?

You're not wrong.

Many Sonic games get the same thing, particularly Unleashed (ps360).

No, a fair few modern ones are pretty shit but Unleashed isn't. People who can't handle the night stages are the usual ones.

I'd say The Desolate Hope qualifies.

Obligatory.

This got a lot of rough reviews but man when people started posting the OSTs I fell in love with this.

I'll always maintain that MGS2 was a load of pretentious pseudo-profound crap with barely any gameplay and it was made for equally pretentious shlong-swallowing faglords.

Dragon's Dogma was praised as fuck on Holla Forums when it came out
