Shadowverse Thread

A card game made by the same company that made Granblue Fantasy, and Holla Forums seems to like Granblue. It even reuses some of the same art or characters from its previous games in Shadowverse, such as Vania and Forte who are both a card and an alternate skin for the Bloodcraft and Dragoncraft classes, so there is a very high chance that other characters from Granblue such as Naru making an appearance as either a skin or a card or both. The game is honestly pretty fun, and Cygames is pretty generous with packs, such as giving out free newest set packs when they do maintenance or how they gave out 10 free packs when the latest set dropped. It's on its third set called Rage of Bahamut Sounds familiar right?. Its honestly better than Hearthstone, with one example is that there is little to no RNG to fuck you over. Shadowverse is what Hearthstone would be if it actually had good developers that cared about the community, not stingy Blizzard fucks.

Is this just Rage of Bahamut with a new coat of paint? Or are they just using the exact same art assets?

Because I could swear that I saw half of these characters in Rage of Bahamut. Either they just reskinned that game, or the art team that both games contracted got really lazy.

I've never played Rage of Bahamut, but after looking it up some I can say no its not, their just using the same art that was in Rage. The game play is completely different with just some reused art.

Ive started playing off and on a couple of weeks ago. Got a decent swordcraft deck but that was before the expansion so I don't even know if its viable. Want to get good with the other classes but don't know where to start.

I would start by building some budget decks, such as one below or by just letting the game build a deck for you with Auto.

Play around with the decks to learn the feel of each class and what its good at, go against the AI on the easiest difficulty so you can get a feel of everything.
Remember to take advantage of the 20 private matches gold bonus. 20 packs can get you most of the stuff in a set.

How do I uncensor the tits?

There is a guide in the steam discussion topics to uncensor tits and get nip VA

steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=788439931
As he said, just follow this guide.

I hit master the other day, right as I did, the little drive I had to play disappeared. The game itself is better than any other card game I have played besides mtg legacy/edh, but god damn is it grindy.

I've never thought that it was grindy, but then again i'm only C-rank. I can imagine playing the boring but practical decks like aggro blood could get boring after awhile. Try switching it up, try playing another class you don't ever play. Make fun decks instead of regular ones, like eidolan seraph or Hansa otk.

I stumbled on this game when I was looking for F2P games. I got so fucking frustrated with Hearthstone due to how much fucking grind it takes to get a half-way decent deck. 4000 grindgold for a god damned expansion, and there are like 4-5 of them now.

Anyway, I've only played through the campaign up to now, but like you said the game is very generous with handing out cards and gold. You get gold and other stuff when you log in every day for the month and you get tickets for boosters. The rules are a lot more innovative in some respects, and the art doesn't make me want to vomit. I opened 18 free Bahamut boosters yesterday and I already snagged 4 of the "Legendaries" of the set. Breddy gud all in all.

Can I use shit during my opponents turn?
It is imperative to card games to use stuff during their turn to generate interaction. Even yugioh understands that.

I'm in C rank and I feel it's super grindy.

When I was at c rank I was going on 10+ win streaks and just breezed through. I played a good amount of every class except dragon and blood while climbing so it wasn't really about getting bored with it. Even with the deck I played the most, I felt like I was constantly learning and never playing perfectly.

Now that I'm master there doesn't feel like there is any weight to games. I'm never going to get to top 1k or anywhere close since that would be trying to compete with a horde of nip NEET aggro players with nothing but time on their hands. Right now I'm just doing my dailies and getting off.

So you have never played poker huh?

Unfortunately no, but It does have some restrictions that Hearthbone doesn't to mix the game up a little. You have a certain number of "evolve" points and you can evolve creatures with them. They may gain new abilities or trigger them and they also get a slight power boost. Your field is only limited to 5 cards at a time. You summon 5 creatures for example, your left-most card on the field gets punted off. It also has "enchantment" cards, in that they stay on the field and the only interaction is they do stuff, or get destroyed by enchantment removal or punted off. Your player character has abilities that trigger under certain conditions or they are passive. For example, the vampire guy has cards that activate when he is on 10 life or below.

Not as complicated as MTG, but not as infuriating as Hearthbone. The anime theme is just icing on the cake, with lewd loli cards aplenty.

Should've clarified, when you play your 6th card, the leftmost card gets punted off.

That's just flat not true.

Well I've played story mode only so far, so I don't know if that changes in multiplayer. In story mode at least, I noticed that the 6th card you play replaces the 5th card on the field already. Don't know what else to say.

You can't, when you have 5 followers in play you just can't play another one till one of your followers dies.

I wonder if they will ever continue the story. What is out right now is just the prologue.

I don't think that would be their top priority. Their most likely going to finish it eventually but its i'm sure their more focused on the game state itself. What I want to know is if they ever plan to add more classes to the game, maybe something along the lines of a seacraft or a technocraft?

I really don't see a reason to play Hearthstone with anime graphics. Especially in a game that has censorship and is made by developers that have openly admited that they're for making their games more "accessible" and will continue to do so in the future. Who even has a problem with the word "Satan" to begin with? Even that set aside I see no reason to play a boring ass Hearthstone clone since Hearthstone is trash.

Shadowverse went out of its way to one up Hearthstone in every way they could think of. The only places they fail to be better are parts of the UI and graphics since the PC version is basically a direct port of mobile game. But at the same time its a card game, do you really need each individual card to be a permanent 3d object, do you really need a desigen team to work on every custom legendary animation for a month?

That's like saying you don't want to play counterstrike because you played some random trashy fps with no effort put into it and didn't like it.

What? If anything like saying I don't want to play some random trashy FPS because I played CS, though the actual point was that if you set out to copy trash then what why would the copy be anything but either the same shade of garbage or even worse. I played SV when it wasn't global, realised it was shit like HS shortly after but kept playing because I needed something to do at the time and the art was pretty good considering it was from RoB and then around the time it went global they started to censor the art and I couldn't be fucked to dance around their shit. Now I just play Eternal if I want to play a card game on my PC or my phone.

And please, tell how they "one upped" Hearthstone in every way. The cards are still fucking boring as hell, the mulligan system combined with the resource system is the same shit that makes games feel like they're moving on tracks because you have so much control over your starting hand and you still can't make mixed class/faction decks. The evolve system is a slightly more interesting spin the coin from HS but not interesting enough to save the game from the horrible mediocrity that comes from rest of the systems it copied from HS. The only thing that it has over Hearthtrash is the art and they feel like covering that up as well. When the only good thing you can say about a game or something that makes it stand out is the graphics it's not a very good game now is it.

Bless you user. I wasn't going to even bother bringing it up because when I tried to make a thread I was told to fuck off because apparently it was a mobile clone of Hearthstone (that is not mobile and not even close to hearthstone) and now we get a fucking Shadowverse thread.

What Shadowverse doesn't fix from Hearthstone:

Eternal is out of closed beta. Go play that instead of the cancer that is Hearthstone clones.

art, card design that encourages player skill rather than catering to casuals, card diversity that encourages skilled deck building (there is significantly more tech slots for each deck which gives you more room to win by properly reading the meta), is extremely easy to go ftp, your rank doesn't reset every month, proper card game balancing philosophy is actually applied instead of the shitty rng blender/cater to reddit mentality that got popularized by LoL, every class has multiple competitive decks, sets release faster, porn, hilarious english voice acting, good nip voice acting.

Are you actually trying to argue RNG is good?

I-is she pissing?

dragons don't pee

well she's definitely leaking something

It's on mobile now though. It's in beta on Android, dunno about iPad. It's just the PC version directly ported so it requires a somewhat big screen because the assets are high res and the UI is the same. but I can play just fine on my Nexus 6P though it does chew battery like a motherfucker right now. Pic related is a screen I took while I was playing a "budget" Feln control deck while testing it out.

I agree on art and friendly FTP (though that should be a given and HS is just exceptionally terrible at it, for example Eternal is even friendlier than SV and it also has way more ways to get shit rather than just quests and apolopacks). I don't really know why rank not resetting is a good thing. Seems like you'd be for evening up the playing field and giving a reason to play more as well as getting ranking rewards considering you list easy FTP as a plus. Porn has nothing to do with the game and multiple competitive decks is again just something that should be a standard rather than something to give credit for. Personally I think HS actually could have more variety if the target audience wasn't the most casual of casuals so it has a way of filtering the easiest to play most effective decks to the top that then leads to more netdecking. TCGs don't need voice acting to start with and they need "hilarious" voice acting even less. Making you change files and jump through hoops to get the JP VA is shit as well.

You mean exciting shit like multiple cards reading "put a fairy in your hand" or "gain +X/+X if you played Y cards during this turn" or a shit ton of cards saying "Summon a knight/two knights" or just in general the myriad of simple buffs and shit like "deal 2 damage to an enemy if you have vengeance active" There are some decent interesting effects in SV like a lot the ones that proc after evolve or shit like Flame and Glass and in general legendaries and shit like that. It doesn't change the fact that there are a ton of cards that are just bad and have nothing interesting to them like Keen Enchantment or any of the boring ass units that are just nothing but stats with maybe a taunt throw in there. There are so many cards that are just "Deal X damage to an enemy/follower/leader" or shit units with something like "Fanfare: deal X damage to an enemy".
the fuck is a tech slot? do you mean the size of the deck or do you mean something like decks have a typical amount of tech cards that you can fiddle with how you want? if it's the latter then I weep for you if you think that's "skilled deck building".
This certainly wasn't the case when I played but if it's been changed since release then that's good to hear. Though this is again, something that should be just standard.

The body was too long

cont.

There are different kinds of RNG fucknut. There's "Deal 1-4 damge to an enemy and put that many 1/1 tokens in play" or "Get a random spell/unit/weapon/anything" and then there's the RNG that's inherent to a card game of any kind like drawing cards from a shuffled deck. I hope you're not the kind of person who cries about "top decking" because then I'd feel really stupid putting in all this effort to write this long ass post. The mulligan system in HS and SV is just boring as fuck when you can get your early plays so easily and then that just means it improves the quality of the rest of your draws. That combined with the steady set resource system means you're constantly trying to play on curve, shitting out the same units on the same turns every game to the point where you can just talk the turns out like it's a script. Look at the current HS pirate Warrior deck for example, buccaneer + patches -> axe -> bloodsail raider/bloodsail cultist -> frothing -> korkron/mortal strike -> arcanite reaper/leroy and mix in a dread corsair somewhere in between because fuck it 0 cost and that's like 90% of the games. just powerful on curve plays one after another. Being able to decide what you keep in your opening hand on a per card basis just means you get those early cards for sure and need to think less what you're playing and when. You never need to look at your hand as a whole and make a decision on whether it's good enough or if you need to redraw when you can just pick the good cards and put the bad ones in your deck in hopes of getting a better one. This was a big points of whining when SV launched and people hated Sword because they had strong early cards that took control of the board and then they blopped down a Floral Fencer on 4 clearing whatever you managed to put on the board while developing even more bodies to hit you with. In a lot of the cases they'd just repeat the same on the next turn pretty much sealing the deal.

Wew I've never hit the character limit before.

Both of these fucking threads tumblrlike cuckchan tier circlejerk /vg/ threads.
Its nothing more but CyGames shilling and a dozen weeaboo retards who fall for it.
>>>/suicide/

Reminder that every american 'indie dev' are tranny faggots that hate you and wish to remake all games in their twisted image.

Then you haven't played HS since beta.
Both the overwatch devs and my dick disagree
Does the standard get 20+ competitive decks? The only time I have ever heard of that is mtg legacy.
It takes 5 min, I guess if you are just autistic it might be hard
I honestly don't even know where to start with this pile of autism
Oh I get it now, you are a filthy causal who has no idea what they are talking about.
The mulligan system in HS and SV is more has more decision making is therefore more skill intensive than any other card game I have seen
its good to use all of your resources in a game? Wow what a concept, no one has ever tried to that before.
You have never heard of keeping cards that aren't 1-3 drops that are good in the matchup?
Their balancing philosophy fixed this. There is always going to be a best deck, I don't understand how anyone can expect a game to be perfectly balanced on release.
