MKX isn't bad but MK9 is a better game overall. MK9 had a challenge tower with 300 levels and that was really fun. It had challenges like having to fight 3 Shao Kahn's

IMO the problem with fatalities in MKX is that they lack the punch the fatalities have from past games. You know how modern action movies do action scenes like they're at a circus, that's the feeling I get when watching them in MKX. Yeah, they did messed up with the costumes of the female characters. But censorship is the wrong term here, since they didn't change things after launch, like Capcom did. They released the game with less revealing costumes if compared to the last installment.
Again, go for XL, and many times you can find both 9 and XL cheap for pc.

Mortal Kombat is one of the few fighting games where the story is actually pretty interesting, and a focal point of the franchise.

This is the problem I have with a ton of older fans that cling onto the glory days of the franchise's past. Everybody, even to this day, is screaming for Sindel, Cyrax, Baraka…and it's like…what the fucker, nigger? Some of those characters from the 3D era deserve a fresh chance. I think NRS could take some previously looked over characters and give them a really good redesign, and have a better chance with the fans.

I know I'm in the minority, particularly because I was upset at the inclusion of six old characters in MKX that could have been swapped out for other characters that showed up in the story that never made it into the roster proper, but I mean…really, the original trilogy cast isn't going to ever totally go away. They will always come back, but christ putting them in every fucking game is going to get boring and tiresome.

Mortal Kombat has this dial up combo bullshit in mk9 and mkx. You basically land the first hit, and then you proceed dialing in your combo.

In Street Fighter 4 the timing is way more important, you can't just hit your buttons and then wait for the combo to come out like you do in mk. Also sf has a lot of mind reading into it and predicting and shit. Just watch this attached match. It's the nigger called Low Tier God vs Viscant, and hell, that guy delivers a insane comeback.

You don't have that shit in MK. Mortal Kombat is all about long combos.
