I think this is a great thread. Template threads were one of the things that drove me away from halfchan Holla Forums years back.

why even make the thread at that point? If you're not going to put a single original though into the OP, then what is your thread worth and how much do you actually want to discuss whatever it is that you made the thread for? Not to mention most of the threads made in template fashion are (1) and dones only made to shitpost. It's just a fact that thought out OPs lead to better discussion and on-topic posting which leads to good threads.

All of them can be easily fleshed out to a better OP. Instead of saying "is this any good" you might as well do a little looking into it and make the OP "I was thinking about playing X but found some complaints about feature Y and some DRM related issues that it had on launch, are those still an issue?" or "I didn't really find anything bad on the internet about X, is it really that good?" or something. It's not that the one sentence structure makes it a template thread, it's the parroting of the same sentence.

I would also argue that the "What am i in for" OP has never lead to anything good. It's always asked by people who have already acguired the game. At that point the smart way to make the thread would be to play the game for some time and then make a thread on what your opinion so far is or any questions that you have.

Only the Fallout 4 duplicate threads were for porn dumping though, and only right after release for a short time. It wasn't allowed in the actual Fallout 4 thread.

Both FO4 and Overwatch had dedicated containment threads for people to talk about the game, the only difference was that any additional FO4 threads that were made were flooded with porn while duplicate Overwatch threads that were made were simply deleted instead. The result was less fake shill shitposting threads filling up the catalog, which was better for the board.
If you want porn dumps you can just go to a porn board.
Or are you trying to argue that a board owner can't try out things like that for people to have fun with unless he allows it permanently afterwards regardless of what else happens or what it does to the board?
