I need to game that will break through my emotionless shell and make me feel something. Any recommendations?

Try therapy. Or if you're going to kill yourself anyway and don't want to waste anyone's time play Zelda II.

MOTHER 3
TRUST ME

Warframe.
You'll feel something all right.

not going to an hero just want a game to make me cry or care

that nigger looks like a husk from mass effect

I can name games that have emotional moments but not games that revolve around it.

Regret?

Nier.

i mean the only games that ever did anything emotional for me were republic commando and dreamfall chapters if that helps

do i have to play the other games to understand the game?

Because it is.

That's the best case scenario.

If you play other games you will only understand it less actually.

no, nier ties into one of the endings of drakengard but you can play it without playing drakengard

no one really plays drakengard anyway, you just suffer through it

LISA the Painful is a good choice, it'll make you sad or make you laugh or both. Or, you can go the opposite route and just find a fun arcade type game and just enjoy that for what it is.

No memes, I got very emotional during Undertale, both very happy and sad, but you've probably already made up your mind whether you hate that game or not.

Silent Hill 2.

Bioshock ∞

yeah I do need a game to make me feel but in a special way like a "killing intent" kind of way

Also Bioshock ∞ tbh.

I just started playing it, man that is fucked up.

play this

To the Moon

Anything AAA

The Skyrim Total Conversion Enderal has both a great plot and an ending that will give you the feels. Still suffers from Skyrim's shitty combat system, but seriously, the story is good.

The horror adventure Fran Brow also has an ending with lots of feel, though its middle section is rather lackluster and unfitting.

The Void can give you the feels, although most of these feels will be "Wtf"

LISA only gives you the feels near the ending. The entire rest is a weird mix of constant toilet humor and the game repeatedly kicking you into the balls.

Starts off as what seems to be a pretty generic fantasy JRPG. Sort of melodramatic and has a ridiculous sense of aesthetics. The combat is pretty bland but it provides enough options to keep you from getting too bored. The feels start setting in about a third through the game if you pay attention to the details.

Don't be fooled by the stupid "le super hard game" meme or the contrarians on Holla Forums who hate the game because it has a few flaws. This is a game about exploring the corpse of a kingdom. The more you pay attention to the world the more you will learn.

This game has made me feel the widest range of emotions that I can remember. I couldn't tell you if it was the age I was when I played this game though. This is a game where you roleplay as a boy taking over the farm of his recently deceased grandfather.

I think Demon's Souls hit those emotional moments better than Dark Souls.

I would agree with you if I didn't play through all of the NPC questlines in Dark Souls. Siegmeyer alone could offset it for me. I do think Demon's Souls is a better game regarding gameplay though. I sorely desire another RPG that supports a "sit down and play through the game in one sitting" style.

Have you played Panzer Dragoon Saga?

The end of Telltale's The Walking Dead got me. Yeah it's Telltale so you've gotta just enjoy the illusion of your choices mattering without trying to poke holes in it (because it's easy to do) and it'll be a lot more fun.

NieR definitely hits you with the feels, especially if you get the alternate/true endings.

No and you'd probably never get me to play a game like that. I absolutely despise having to operate any kind of vehicle in a game. I will intentionally take the time to travel by foot if it's the only way to avoid using vehicles. I'm probably missing out but i would have nothing but disdain towards a game that forces me to operate a vehicle for prolonged sections.

Bit of a spoiler, but it's not you riding your dragon, it's you controlling someone riding his dragon - I know this sounds obvious and like a pointless arbitrary distinction but it is extremely relevant to the story. Have you ever played the other panzer dragoon games? It's hard to find something that really quite captures the feeling of riding a dragon, there's a weight to the movement, more similar to riding Agro in shadow of the colossus rather than say, controlling a cursor on a screen.

I think you might want to give it a chance, you may be very surprised. They aren't particularly long games either, the rail shooters are about 30 minutes to an hour long, and the RPG is one of the shortest I've played, clocking in at 15 hours and with a near 90% completion rate.

I can try but I can tell you now I won't get through it.

Watch a movie instead. Playing video games isn't really ideal for drawing out emotions, however, I'll make a suggestion:

The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask

give the first two games a try, they are very short and you may be very surprised. Plus it's really something else to observe the TECHNOLOGY at work in them.

This is a very good suggestion. Majora's Mask is on of the few games that I consider to be piece of art all together. LoZ MM breaks so many cliches. The game brings out emotions at full strength for the NPC's and even you with a universal sense of urgency.

Ace Combat 04.

play The Reconstruction

seconding this: replaying it after 15 years, so many feels

also

Looks like furshit.

OP asked for something to pierce his emotionless shell. What better way to evoke feelings of disgust and loathing than furshit?

Two thirds, yeah. Humans, Lizards and Cats. But there isn't any porn or fetishes in it so it's pretty much ignored by both furries and everyone else.

How far in are you? I was thinking about playing it again lately as well.

I always wonder if they still would have shot up the school if they didn't get their computers taken away and still had the ability to play games and make WADs. Like it seems like they wouldn't have done it if they had that to occupy their time.

Also they fucked up, they killed alibrary full of nerds, a nig, and a retard instead of chads and stacys like they should have

Play Iji and kill everything that stands in your way.

They likely would have snapped regardless. You don't start shooting up a school full of people because someone took your games away.

How is that fucking up?

Probably the "a" part.

ikana valley, i'm gonna finish the main line as quick as possible so i have time to explore the world as i will and get all the mask without looking at guides

One nig doesn't outweigh the amount of chads and stacys they could have gotten

...

Oh, right, a singular nigger.

Let's be frank, they should have looked up what Jews were attending their school and initiated a shoah.

Yeah but they were more of /r9k/ beta uprising types. Their whole goal was to kill Chads and Stacys and they fucked up

Typical /r9k/

I never understood how they managed to fuck it up so bad.

Now, I forget a lot about how it went down, but couldn't they have waited for some event or other that would require a large majority of the school population to attend in some big interior, then blocked off the exists and pushed everyone in a corner before they started shooting?

encyclopediadramatica.se/R9gay/Raid
I participated in that

Yeah exactly, they could have gotten high double digit scores instead of like what 15 people? Wikipedia says they had 99 explosives even if half of those didn't go off they could have gotten so much more

I guess that should be expected of proto /r9k/ they fucked up everything including their school shooting

That's pathetic even by our lax standards.

Eliot Rodgers was also an /r9k/ shooter.

Don't forget the propane bombs.

I felt a lot for the Mass Effect setting and characters before the ending happened. Flaws with the story and all, I loved it.

When will Bioware go bankrupt, user?

The mouth is different
If you "cross your vision" so the two faces overlap, anything thats different will kind of strobe

Who told you that bullshit. Both used their computers extensively before the shooting. Eric fucking documented everything both digitally and physically leading up to the shooting and left it all for the police to find. Dylan had very likely had the same access, since his physical journal consisted of a lot of computer printouts. Fun act: Dylan had actually uninstalled his copy of DOOM from his computer about 1+ years before the shooting as part of a "rehabilitation" process he but himself through.

They shot up the school because they were fucking psychopaths, not because they didn't have anything better to do.

Pure bullshit. Both were fucking chads. Eric and Dylan both had multiple girlfriends, tons of friends, and constantly bullied other classmates. The whole "dey were bullied an shot up combine beuace of it" came from the media associating them with a bunch of attention whores that went around in trench coats and make-up(which had disbanded a year before the shooting).

The real fuck up was their lack of knowledge on bombs. If their original plan would have worked, we would have had a 300+ death toll.

I'm surprised EA didn't take them behind the toolshed by now, I thought DA:I was going to be their last act. It's kind of a bizarre situation, because the game's a godawful pile of shit, but DA2 set the bar so low that DA:I seemed like the proverbial Citizen Kane of videogames by comparison, and thus Bioware gained a new lease of life.

undertale

I've been an emotionless severely depressed hulk for at least 5 years and I had a bit of a hole in my heart after playing The Walking Dead S1.
S2 is bad in comparison.

I get absolutely nothing out of challenging gameplay anymore, so I mostly play narratively-driven games, some very specific types of VN, and autism simulators like modded Minceraft. Most of the story-driven games around have huge holes in their plots and stories and structure that you have to ignore. If you go into a game with the right mood, you could even enjoy awful games like Life is Strange, like I did. Just gotta immerse yourself in the world enough to not think past whats happening at the moment for a game like that, though.

You sound like a fag, op.

read boku no punpun

To The Moon, at least if you don't mind a game that should probably be a VN/movie/book since it has no proper gameplay in it. It'd be a really really good VN/movie/book though, at least if they toned down Dr. Wattz's humor in the emotional parts.

Oh shit I bet you'd be all over if you like emotional games with no gameplay. I don't like emotional games with no gameplay but I liked To the Moon anyways, it was far better than TWD season 1.

Why does the dude on the right make me uncomfortable?

Zelda 2 is the best Zelda game and the only one that really can even be called a game.

Same. Has libtard writing here and there but I blanked politics from my mind entirely and immersed myself into the game, the trilogy was a great experience, ending included.

Renegade playthrough combined with the destroy ending isn't as bad as people make it out to be imo. It felt like a nice conclusion, Shepard sticking it to the Reapers one final time.

In my mind that last scene where you see and hear him taking a breath doesn't take place. He dies purging the galaxy of the Reaper threat like the badass he is.

Russian Roulette Single player mode

Yeah, but Elliot Rodgers cared more about getting laid. He was a failed normalfag.

Sorry to hear that bro, I've been fairly content with being alive and healthy, so I couldn't say I could relate, but know that you have my sympathy.

Not a joke, every scene with Jennie gets to me.

Memertale. As much as Holla Forums shits on it, the true pacifist boss made me cry like a bitch.

The first Max Payne, I haven't played the second one so I can't recommend it but Max Payne is a very emotional game about the lengths one man will go for revenge; to put it simply.

This.
Also play genocide run after getting the true pacifist ending for full disclosure.

From what I've seen most of Holla Forums shits on it over the tremendously cancerous community rather than because of the game itself. General consensus seemed to be that it was a nice game, though I have yet to play it myself. Not sure how much I'd get out of it after seeing almost every spoiler imaginable plastered all over the internet.

Man… this scene…

What does EA really have other than DICE and Bioware? I can't think of anything other than sports games.

I just hate it because it clashes with everything thematically (synthetics/organics what? fuck off Casey you fuck) and it shits all over your efforts at making peace between geth and Quarians. I mean what's the point? I'm not even a Talifag more of a Legionfag and I loved that part so much.

I'm sorry for the rant, I just played it recently and the wounds are fresh. But yeah I like the destroy the most as well I guess.

These will remind you to feel.
