Krosmaga now in open beta

krosmaga.com/en
From the creators of famous grindathon salt generators like Dofus, Wakfu and Krosmaster comes the latest entry to the French Hips series: Krosmaga! It's been in closed beta for quite some time but has now crossed over to open beta!

So what the fuck is Krosmaga, you ask? It's basically Ankamas answer to Hearthstone: A "free" to play mix of card game and ASSFAGGOTS. You assume the role of one of the gods (only Ecaflip, Sadida, Iop, Eniripsa, Xelor, Cra, Sram and Sacrier are in so far, more are to be added) in a battle to prove your superiority.

Gods create a deck of 45 cards from a selection of god-based spells and units (called summons) as well as Neutral summons and infinite cards (More on those soon) available for all decks. Play is then done on a grid of 5 8-tile long lanes, with a dofus on each end. The goal is to destroy two enemy Dofuses without getting your own destroyed. Two random dofuses are Fake, and destroying those won't win you the game but you can summon one tile further ahead in all lanes. A summon has a set amount of health, damage and movement points as well as an Action Point cost and possibly an effect and will move down the lane it is summoned in automatically.

Each god starts off with one AP that regenerates to max each round, and gains one more in max after every round, up to 10. You also have an extra reserve of AP that you can burn to add to your current total, which is gained by certain abilities and prisms: Prisms are like the little powerups from Krosmaster or runes in Dota, when a summon walks over them they're activated and you gain an effect (draw another card, gain 1 AP in the reserve) or get a curse card (3 AP cost, deals 1 damage to a dofus)

As it's "free", you of course either pay or grind. Kamas (or real money) are used to buy packs, which contain 5 cards each with a guaranteed drop of certain rarity. Kamas are gained via winning up to X games a day and by doing quests and daily challenges. As you can only use 3 per regular and 1 per infinite/krosmic cards in a deck, excess cards can be recycled for dust, which can be used to create specific cards instead. Infinite cards as mentoned are cards that gain experience when in play and can level up for stronger versions as well as artwork, short stories, animated shorts, etc. Probably teasers for the next season of Wakfu in there somewhere.

The best thing about Ankama games is porn

We've got a thread for this over on /tg/. In my opinion, it's a Hearthstone clone in a few notable ways, but the actual gameplay, especially with the 5 lanes and 3 Dofus rules, is a lot deeper and a lot more satisfying.

It's just a shame that some of the Gods are so fucking broken.
FUCK YOU CRA YOU AWFUL BITCH.

Just when you thought games couldn't get any more cancerous…

Onto the gods and how they play:

Iop: Aptly described as "Straightforward". Iop summons either get First Strike (Damage is usually applied to fighting summons at the same time, First Strike makes you hit first, then they hit, allowing kills without taking damage) or Charge (Unit moves extra distance down the lane), and the spells are tooled around giving First Strike, extra damage and armour (Basically health, but unaffected by heals) to your summons, charging/teleporting summons further down lanes and dealing direct damage to enemy summons.

Ecaflip: Heart of The Cards. Nearly all Ecaflip cards have to do with RNG one way or another. Heavily centered around dice throws, coinflips and drawing cards. Coinflip to deal more damage or harm yourself, roll a dice for bonus damage, a card that makes you draw more cards if you pass a coinflip, and so on and so forth. This means you have a good 1 in 3 or 1 in 2 chance of fucking yourself over, but when an Ecaflip deck works, IT WORKS.

Cra: Really fucking annoying. Cra spells are mostly about shoving enemies back up the lane and/or dealing direct damage, while the units are squishy yet ranged. Range works as such that you attack at range on your own turn, but don't counterattack with it, meaning you need ranged units, fast units or direct damage effects/spells to deal with them properly if you don't get positioning down perfectly. As such, Cra decks are incredibly fucking annoying to play against with their incessant keepaway while still being very straightforward.

Eniripsa: Heals. Lots and lots of heals. And armour, too. Summons also have effects that activate whenever someone is healed. Throw in spells that provide direct damage, Untargettable (What it says on the tin, unit cannot be affected by spells from either god), Silence (Disables card effects like First Strike, removes buffs), resurrection of dead summons and the ability to take control of enemy summons and Eniripsa end up being incredibly versatile.

Sacrier: Sacrificing your own dudes. Incredibly beefy summons with low attack and huge health, the Bodyguard effect (Unit takes damage in place of target), bonuses when injured (For example, one unit get +2 damage and First Strike when injured), and spells that hurt all summons including your own for low numbers, swap your summons around on the field or cause injured summons to charge means Sacrier can sweep quite easily after some setting up. They even get a spell that sacrifices one of your Dofuses to harm the enemys.

Sadida: I don't know. I'm too shit to play Sadida effectively but I know they get a seed mechanic: Seed cards can be placed down for 1 AP each, and most summons gain bonus damage, armour, health or movespeed for every seed on the field or give you seeds when hurt. Seeds are destroyed if enemy summons walk over them or returned to your hand if allies do. All Sadida spells also play around seeds. Give yourself more seeds, turn placed down seeds into defensive walls or offensive voodoo dolls, turn enemy summons into seeds!

Sram: Brooding edgelord. Summons get a variety of effects including reducing an enemy to 1 health upon being summoned and teleporting behind enemies after fighting them. Spells are mostly utility, debuffing enemy summons, revealing enemy dofuses, giving damage and untargettability to your summons, etc. Sram also heavily interacts with the "discard" pile, being able to dredge up used summons and spells alike from both player graveyards as well as casting and summoning with costs used in banished graveyard cards instead of AP.

Xelor: AP shenanigans, just like in other games. Xelor can boost his own AP reserve, demolish yours and generally being annoying as fuck if played right. Summons are mostly high health low damage with effects like bonus AP to your reserve when taking damage, resurrecting as a mummy or removing AP from your reserve. Spells deal damage or boost/drain AP and shunt around or mummify units, gaining bonus effects if Xelor has a healthy AP reserve stockpiled. Xelors ultimate spell costs 20 AP (Max without using reserve is 10) and it instantly destroys an enemy dofus. They also get the most bullshit spell in the game: Sinistro. It places a token on an allied Dofus and it beams 1 damage down each lane every turn until the dofus is damaged. Couple this with summons that destroy prisms to deny you curse cards and it is INCREDIBLY INFURIATING unless you're a Cra.

Prostagma?

Third post because body too long, repost because I fucked my spoilers.

The /tg/ thread is for Ankama products in general and sees about one post per week. I was hoping to get some faster discussion here. ESPECIALLY since discussion outside of chans is in French, which I don't speak a lick of. I need tips for my shitter self.

How about "Tactical turn-based card game"? Gameplay is actually quite nice, if anything's cancerous it's the fact that getting good cards is praying to RNG or stockpiling dust (A common dusts for 5, uncommon for 15, rare for 50, krosmic for 100 and infinite for 250, while commons cost 30 dust each to make (and you probably want 3) and infinite cards cost 2000 dust to craft.) and those powerful cards make a huge difference (when you actually draw them)

: ^)

This is now a RTS quite thread

"AK47s FOR EVERYONE!!!"

Xelor is really interesting to play and it's the one that seems to have the most strategic potential.. but it's also the kind of deck where you can get dicked on turn 1 and never get any momentum going.

What prompted me to try and get discussion going is getting absolutely fucking dumpstered by a Xelor.
He used an infinite and a bandit to steal away all my curse prisms by turn 3, which I stupidly didn't pick up. After that he quickly managed to lay down four Sinistros and it was just a downhill struggle from there, since he kept a single curse prism on his side of the field and I'm a Iop with an early rush-based deck.

I like it, give me more op.

Unfamiliar with Ankama's usual work?

...

I'm busy right now, but later I'll have you and some other /tg/ guys add me if they've got friends lists working.

Say user, would you have any advice for an Ecaflip deck? Can I make a competent cat/wabbit deck?

Im not big into playing betas but ive been watching it since announced

Nice to actually get more imagery of the gods for one thing, sacrier a cute

Miranda best wakfu

She sure is.

Who could have fucking guessed? The massive cra boner these cunts have absolutely fucking ruined the entire endgame of Wakfu

Can't these fucking esteemed compatriots make a solo game for once ?

Day one

depends on if you want to go pure luck or not. If you want to cash in on 50% chances make sure to get atcham, and the Royal Chafer. Also to cash in on ecaflips level up a Kabrok card to get Miranda.

Other than that you really just need to hope for 3 on your die spells.

I bet if they do they'll force you to play as Yugo.

...

Sad.

...

it's like the game wants me to keep playing and suffer more

I've only played a little Ecaflip, but from what I can tell, Ecaflip kind of plays how most Hearthstone: Rely on dumb luck and chance.

Although, it's thematically appropriate since Ecaflip is the Gambler God.

Cra has two big issues: 1) Nearly every Cra summon has Range, which is something that pretty much no other God has.
and 2) Cra's big gimmick is having tons of cheap spells that either keep you from getting closer so Ranged attacks are even better, or they are just low cost plink damage, some of which also hit the Dofus. Homing Arrow, especially, can be the bane of your existence.

Calling yourself a shill doesn't make you any less of a cancerous shill.

YEs it does

...

Whatever happened to Dofus Arena? it never came back
i know Slage got canned halfway in development

I think they reworked Dofus Arena into the later Krosmaster. A lot of similarities in concepts, anyway.

dofus is dead and wakfu is dying, but godly asses in both games if you mean otherwise.
they made a xbox arcade game that was ok.
but you're not wrong for the most part, wakfu sucks ass because they fucking ruined many elements of it.

Wakfu is dead too. The playerbase has been on freefall for months now despite their best attempts to add more shit updates no one asked for instead of fixing the fucking YEARS-LONG bugs.
The last patch they released added some shit story quests and a ultimate boss, but there is not a single thread discussing the former on the forums and the latter only has one complaining about it being RNG bullshit

It's a shame really, I enjoyed Wakfu a lot when I used to play it.

What would make a good Wakfu game and what genre would it be?

Wew lad

It would be an H-game.

Downloading, I'm not really into card games but I'll give it a try.
Also, is Wakfu still alive?

I played wakfu pretty avidly before that one update that completely overhauled the skill system into something that was much too similar to diablo 3 for my tastes. Without a season 3 of the cartoon they have no prayer at getting the playerbase back. At the end of the day though, I am convinced they need to drop massively multiplayer when their strengths obviously lie in design and character.

They did this and it boosted the numbers for a lil bit, then dropped down again soon after because the game is still broken shit
wakfu.com/en/mmorpg/news/announcements/587992-wakfunding-you-us-season-3

That was fucking intense and I swear I'm never doing that again.

>>>/tg/275316
/tg/'s thread on Ankama shit if you want to participate.

I tried it a bit but instead of making me want to continue playing it, it made me want to go back to wakfu.

it makes me miss dofus arena.

I loved Dofus Arena. But I think they shut it down because there just wasn't a way for them to make money off it. It felt like a really fun side project by a couple dudes on the team, but if your game makes zero dollars, even the cheapest servers are still a net loss. And I'm willing to bet Dofus Arena saw a lot of play time for how fun it was.

Has the duck ever been removed?

See

I remember seeing a kickstarter for a proper translation of the animated series, where they promised that, if funded, they'd remove the duck from the bath scene. That's what I was asking about.

Fags, started yesterday, add me: Mr.Weregoblin

also, Sadida is given so little in the way to put seeds that is not even funny

I'm currently 54/34, haven't spent a penny

Mr-Weregoblin

FLY'N

Why has God forsaken us?

Well the game is apparantly like MLP for the frogs, I don't think they'd be that invested in a single game.
Which probably also explains why every single game they end up releasing is tactical and turnbased.

p2w shit game
ankama just release fucking wakfu season 3 that's all you're good for anyway

how ptw is this game?
hearthstone tier where it's possible to grind if you enjoy the game, or clash of clans tier?

I think you can buy packs with cash (or you will be able to when the game launches) but packs don't guarantee useful or new cards for your collection.

Duplicates can be turned to dust or whatever it's called to purchase specific cards, but getting dust takes a lot of cards… and getting cards means getting packs which you either buy with in game currency or cash. In game currency can be earned with a winning streak bonus and by completing challenges and missions.

This pretty much means that the longer someone has been playing, the more likely they are to be able to build an ideal deck for the God they play.

...

except for the dust system allows someone to buy a fuckton of cards and buy the cards they want
it really isn't hard to fight someone on unranked or ranked who would supposedly be around your level with an fuckin Yugo, Evangeline, Dragon-Asshole-(brother?), Stupid-Iop-Who-Manages-To-Be-A-God-Avatar, and so forth on the damn battlefield with a twerp that deals 1 damage and other global shitty effects that bounce effects and makes enemies untargetable by you and shit. Really isn't that hard, at all. Not to mention that the beginning cards are extremely limited and useless all together. Common in this game doesn't mean common, it means shit. Not to mention that Xelor still has some balancing needed (he's a little bit weak), along with Iop and maybe Cra (they're all weak.). Scarier and the healer bitch are a little nasty, considering they can pump out and fuck over people with creatures that just don't fucking die.
In the end game, sure it's balanced and shit, but it's because everyone already has the cards they fucking want, however when you're starting out it's shitty as fuck and you kinda have to deal with bullshit for the first few levels. Sure enough, after getting past rank 10 or so, I managed to get a godlike winning streak against rank one faggots, because the system is completely fucked, only for a rank thirty to royally fuck my asshole.

I actually had twelve or so consecutive wins with a basic deck before hitting rank 11 where I got fucked by Cra and the eternal direct damage spam. THEN I got thrown into the pool with the big boys.
The #1 shitter shatterer in the early stages is actually Cra. Sacrier can only be a threat when they know how and when to use bodyguards and injured states.
And really, Tofu Brotherhood cards should always get removed first and foremost.

Also,
?????

There is Islands of Wakfu, Fly'N Dofus, Wakfu and Gobbowl.

So is there any point in actually playing it outside of enjoying Ankama's work? Cause honestly the only decent card game out there is Shadowverse, doubly so for how generous the developers are.

How is it ? Looks like some sort of puzzle platformer.

Yes, if you thought that card games needed some form of additional boardgame element.

ether they payed or played to win, fuck this mess.

I really like it, but there's some annoying shit like infinites.

But you're right, niggers who leave the moment you have an advantage and screw you out of bonuses from dofuses are faggots.

It's almost worth it for the fags that blow their wad on rushing and buffing one summon then ragequit after I direct damage it.
