I'm still subbed and I don't know why. I've been playing for near a decade so I figured I would see this through to the end. Legion started off okay but it's the same stale shit blizzard always serves up. It doesn't help that nu-blizzard is hopelessly incompetent. Feedback is ignored, then Ion will request more feedback which is routinely ignored and the frequency of feedback and quality drops as people quit/give up.
The guy in charge of "Technical Class/Systems Designer" plays WoW with a tablet and disregards criticism about scaling (which was a huge fucking issue in Legion e.g. Unholy DKs).

After Legion, I expect they'll end up just going f2p, expand the cash shop a bit and focus on Memewatch.

I checked out quarter-way into Cataclysm. Been returning every expansion for a couple of months mostly because of nostalgia and to see the story through.

Cataclysm for me is when the community died (LFG tool) and any sense of difficulty or challenge went away. Or maybe I just grew out of it.

What exactly did you not understand? You understood the part about BGs so what's the problem? Arenas are actually okay from what I remember. If you find someone willing to lose a little which is hard but doable. Arenas can actually be pretty fun.

Anyway the community has always been trash, you just have to go in and then leave for a while to see it. Been this way since at least the end of WotLK.

2) I've pretty much given up on the game

I now that the old WoW is not going to come back, so I just accept the game for what it is. Which is still alright. And if you're into the actual RP part of an MMORPG, there's not much of an alternative, especially if you still love WarCraft.

Content of the game was dumbed down mostly with automatization, quest helpers… Before, you actually had to read quest logs and explore the world with clues, as opposed to going from one point on a map to another. Automatized LFG systems killed a good part of the community…

This is how WoW grouping works. The less effort it requires to get gear, the higher the expectations of pugs. Warlord of Draenor got similarly fucking retarded when it came to Hellfire Citadel. Normal dropped 695/705 gear, but most groups required you to have at least 700 gear to enter. The reason for this was that you could spend a few hours AFK-farming honor in Ashran and end up with a full set of 700/710 gear with no effort expended on your part at all.

Legion is just worse about it, because Titanforging and Warforging combined means you can get better gear than the shit dropping in raids without ever stepping foot into any instanced/group content.

I can't just switch specs because all my artifact shit from 100-110 and world quests/suramar were put into it

Yeah might have done a mistake if you just stopped playing due to AP. Because i also took a break but just kept logging in for gold mission and artifact knowledge so now most of my 110 are at 18-22 artifact knowledge level which makes getting a full artifact, first 34 traits quite fast

in 7.1.5 there's a new way to get artifact knowledge high fast, to 15 i think so that can help.

Also frost isnt that bad, i was playing it for quite some time in heroics, rune+frost ray does retarded burst with all the haste buffs, i was near the top.

Fire was OP at launch but i think they toned it down now

Wow is normalfag shit, always has been since they decided to go f2p. The pointless grinding to get to the fun content has basically made 90% of the game world irrelevant and not worth visiting. Its all about raids raids raids, its pretty much boiled down to PVE MOBA for normalfags that can't into anything else or just don't like anything else but feel compelled to spend their money online or have their geek card revoked.
