PROLOGUE (2)
Neutral is you choosing to fuck off back to KiwiLand
good shit user
...
I go to Portland and steal me a loli cyber shaman.
And by the end, the protagonist kills his friends or nukes Tokyo
Cool story brah. Dlc mission is to unfold the shadow cabal lead by Madam Khillary Clint that has been swindling the region leaders from behind the scene. but wait the actual culprit is the big nosed cabal
Build it.
Kisao is a fedora tipping atheist male high school student who browses Holla Forums with a Katana diagnosed with chronic cardiac autism and congenital heart muscle deficiency. He collapses from a major heart attack from eating to many chicken tendies. Due to his heart condition, he transfers to Mamaku High School. Initially resentful of his placement in a school for the disabled, he eventually adapts to his new lifestyle. Through his new relationships and interactions, he begins to reconsider his preconceptions towards disabilities. Kisao can also befriend demon's and every night can climb into his closet to enter a randomly generated dungeon. Kiaso can date Ami Ebarazaki, Hanako Ikezawa, Milly Latou, Tin Rezuka, Jhizune Sakamichi, Mihiina Shikado and Senji Keto.
So standard questions.
I know it's half-unrelated, but how would you see Yoko Taro working on an SMT game?
I'd give him a chance, sure.
He probably wouldn't be any worse than Yamai.
FUCK! I had Russia as an enemy at first but I scrapped it for China.
Aww yiss. Let's see how far I can go with you
GAMEPLAY
The game would play a mix of Disgea and X-COM. Not your standard JRPG
Player has a portable S3 system and can summon 3 demons at the time.
No smirking like SMT 4: Apocalypse
Support magic cannot be spammed. They take a percentage of MP rather than a fixed amount. Inherited support skills require a lower percentage of MP. They also come with drawbacks at first. Makarakarn reflects magic but lowers Phys. Defense. Tetrakarn reflects Phys. Attack but lowers Mag. Defense
Guns and tanks, even drones can be used
3rd person
As described above though I feel like it's lacking. Please feel free to ask more.
Maybe 3 or 4 people. One for physical, one for magic, one for support skills and healing.
LAW: A marine whose family has fought in every war since the American Revolution. Patriotic, constitutionalist to the core and believes in the Natural Right principles. Doesn't think that all the regions will respect people's fundamental rights. "If the Union is not maintained, foreign hordes will eventually conquer us"
CHAOS: Anarcho-capitalist historian who had worked in the federal government. Individualist, pro-freedom to the core and believs that the Feds will only tighten their grips over the Union in order to siphon wealth away. "All Empires eventually turn against the people"
NEUTRAL: Great friend that you met in Kiwi Land. "Empires fall eventually. Small entities are always absorbed by a stronger foe. Civilization are not eternal. Let it go"
>How does the overworld look if applicable?
Like SMT 4: Apocalypse. But the game is broken into many sections and takes place over a period of 3 years. So each different location has an overworld
I don't know enough about him to comment on that
I can't code for shit
Persona 6
underrated
BONUS
> You can also summon Abe Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, General Lee, General Grant Ronald Triumph (since he made S3 known to the world) Obama can suck a dick.
Sounds like someone just got done playing Devil Survivor!
I'm playing Soul Hackers and Strange Journey. I've looked up DEvil Suvivor and it does look kind of similar. But in Devil Survivor, the battle take place in the first person rather than the third person
Sounds like you want a Srpg. Look into Majin Tensei which was the fire emblem entries to SMT back in the day. Also as mentioned Devil Survivor since it also has humans with squads of demons on a grid combat.
The 7 heads is somewhat clever, but it doesn't stick with me. I gotta admit that the older design is better.
underrated
no marie no buy
How appropriate, a thumbnail for a dumb belle.
Holy shit (op), I ddin't even bother reading that wall of text until just now. This would be the most blue pilled shin megami tensei game ever produced.
To be fair, so would most people's ideas.
SMT is the most redpiled video game series there is, after all.
The conquest of China has literally nothing to do with the rest of the plot if it's going to be completely isolated to some neo-Civil War. The prologue is way more interesting than the actual projected game time.
You know, I don't mind 3rd person since you are going for a SRPG, but I wish we could get another first person RPG that doesn't have the 4 party limit. 6 really is much better for mainline games with law/chaos heroes. You can have three humans including the MC without harshly reducing the number of demons you can summon. You don't need to do what IV/A did with the whole FF3 companions. And honestly, it just feels better to have those characters be party members you can control and kit out. Really involves them in the story.
/rant
The rest of the mechanics sounds promising. Story is meh, but I'd still play it.
Outside of Persona, I can't really think of many contemporary demons. I type this as I remember Betelguese, Audry, and That car from that one steven king book are in SMTII.
...
Those are the main Law and Chaos characters. Throughout the game, you meet many people who side on Law or Chaos for different reason. White and black ethno-nationalist who want to use the occasion to carve themselves a piece of land, whit nationalist who do want the Union to stay as one for their kin, leftists commies who want the union to be maintained because it gives their welfare state a greater pool of wealth to take from, others who want it because it would work at a smaller scale etc. The 2 sides would be made of all kind of people with all kinds of view who want an outcome that favors them. And some are willing to do very fucked up things to make it happen
The dismantling of China was done because the Chinese were the 2nd world power and started meddling with American affairs around the world. By getting rid of them, the US got on top of the manufacturing chain again. What it also establishes is a world were the US is led by nationalist and sits at the top of the pyramid. The level of power that the republic has in this timeline is greater than the one from reality. In this world, the US possesses a weapon system that greatly surpasses anything that the rest of the world has. That is why the melting pot thing came in. It shows a realistic advantage that they would have over the rest of the globe. I'm not glorifying multiculturalism, but if I was a US scientist making a weapon, I would use all the tools available to make it better.
If we were to turn the prologue into a game, wouldn't that greatly reduce the amount of demons available to the player?
So 3 people on the battlefield while the rest is left out?
I think the 7 heads reflect the biblical description of Satan better
You have no idea what SMT is about do you?
In the SMT universe the center of the universe is Japan, you have mentioned many countries but not japan. The exception Strange Journey does not take place in japan but it doesn't deal with any inhabited country and has nothing to do with geopolitics, and the US protag is a localized change in the original version he is Japanese because in SMT japan is the center of the universe and thus only a Japanese person could save it, although Gore is a reference to al gore. Ultimately the issue that SMTSJ addresses while impacting all countries also directly impacts japan and that is what makes is important.
Yes SMTII and IVA make reference to international relations but its literally just rehashing WWII and Japan gets nuked by the US who is being controlled by demons.
Indeed there are references to social issues in SMT occasional but they are issues related to Japanese social issues. This is pretty common for japanese games, even Final Fantasy addresses Japanese social issues.
Chaos=/=new order Chaos=ancient order it reverts the social order to that of social predators, it is the return to animal nature which is ironic for Lucifer, who claims to have given humans the ability to chose but want to send them back to a way of life where choice don't exist.
Law=/=the status quo. Law=/=new order it is never the status quo
Neutral does indeed involve not addressing the issues and maintain the status quo but it results in a return to the status quo before the apocalypse.
You are just as bad as people who want a fallout game set in the UK or Japan. OP you are a fucking retard.
I wonder if he'll still feel that way after the manuscript is translated?
...
...
Thanks for your input
You lost, get over it. :^)
No, the standard in SMT 1/2 was a six man party. During SMT 1 you had the law and chaos hero travel with you and your character is always slot 1. After that you have three more slots for demons. After some time you lose both heroes and gain another human companion for a total of 2 filled spots, and 6 left for demons. All six are on the battlefield though.
Nocturne was the only 4 man, mainline SMT game that made the party size work since the Demifiend only recruited demons. But SJ, IV/A had no reason to restrict the party size to 4. Especially when IV/A want to have heroes tag along with your party.
(checked)
So is OP kill?
I don't know. Are you interested?
Only in reading more of your ideas. I used to follow gatedev when he was working on his SMT game and I'm always interested in seeing how other people would approach the series.
What cool ideas do you have in mind?
Where's Andrew Jackson?
Ah Jewgrounds, the cradle for many Holla Forumstards. I still fondly remember playing all the adult games there when I was a kid.
Yoko "Japanese Sith Lord" Taro? The one who made the mindfuck of a series called Drakengard? This could go extremely well or very, very wrong.
