Collectors editions aren't for collectors, despite the name. They usually make so many of them that the value doesn't stay, and I've seen examples where the collector's edition was cheaper than the regular game. Get it if you want all the cool shit, but don't assume it holds value.

Theres a normal nude model, but it's not too interesting on it's own. if you want to change that, you'll have to actually do shit. I know nearly nothing on editing the actual mesh of 3D models by themselves. But I managed to accomplish this with just editing the texture and a little manual magic in SFM. it's far from perfect though.

Can I emulate any of the 3D titles? I honestly haven't touched a single sonic game since Sonic Heroes back when it first came out.

what's your pc like? Dolphins pretty good, so you should be able to play Sonic Adventure 2 Battle using it. Sonic Battle (using a GBA Emulator) is also sorta 3D, and pretty much any PC manages that

Got to the fourth level on Hard mode. Have been playing on classic mode because I've seen some of the cutscenes and have firsthand knowledge of how shitty the VA and story are. It's good, but it can't touch the classic Sonic games.

Spend $400 on a decent PC and just emulate whatever.

If I'm gonna get a rig I'm not going below $700 for quality reasons. Also I want to run some more modern titles. My current rig can't play anything past 2009.

It's neat, but it has some flaws. Many of the enemies aren't properly updated to be actually dangerous in a 3D environment, and there's literally no downside to rolling into a ball because you can just freely unroll anytime you want.

The story mode is in like a 2d view, but you can walk around the area. While I've only seen clips from the show, the story feels like it was written by the same people who do the show. I enjoyed it.

In free roam mode it's like every other lego game but Sonic goes fast and the world is made up of bits from sonic 1,2 and 3. Oh and bits are replaced by rings, but follows the same health rules(4 hits and you die)

Sonic Adventure 1 was confusing for those of us back in the day too. There should be a walk through or two left on the internet so you should really take a look at those. Basically, Sonic Adventure 1 is more of a "look around for clues" kind of game. Just look all the fuck over the place. If you find something out of place, it's usually a clue.

Anyway my all-time favorite is Sonic 2 for Sega genesis. Say what you will but Sonic 2 improved heavily on Sonic The Hedgehog and I didn't care much for Sonic CD. Funnily enough I was just playing Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 yesterday on an emulator.

When I first played the game I got stuck on the hero story (end room of crazy gadget) so I finished the Dark story first

From the Dark perspective it looks like Sonic fucking dies when he got launched into space and then I had to go to bed. So I was pretty much traumatized for a full day of school thinking Sonic was dead until I got back to playing and found out he used Chaos control. It blew my mind at the time, that kind of shit sticks with you.

Nostalgia is probably a big factor but I also became really good at the game. You may not like the Tails and Knuckles stages but I mastered them so I don't really hold any negativity toward them.

When most people criticize the 3D Sonic games they usually hold perfectly valid points, I just don't give a much of a shit.

So it really is a nostalgia factor and a "my first Sonic" type of thing. This reminds me of when I was a kid and people fought over Legend of Zelda and Adventure of Link. Almost anyone that played LoZ first didn't like AoL and vice versa, it mostly came down to which one you played first.

Speed is the meat of the game while feeling so dissatisfying unlike the games that came before it and Fly looks fucking stupid along with being good for absolutely nothing but boringly slowing you down just to hover up to or across to something. Power is actually one of the only fun ways to play and that still doesn't give you enough to do. Also, the stages and their music overall are either forgettable or memorable for the wrong reasons.

I didn't hate heroes, it was my first sonic game in years after growing up with 1,2,3 and s/k. I had heard how down hill sonic had gone with his menagerie of friends and expected the worst. Yeah team toddler was annoying but for the most part it was mediocre, going into it expecting pure shit actually helped it out.

Kinda helps that Crush 40 brought the noise.
