There's only two ways to properly play Skyrim, since it's so buggy you can't play both either.
Make it a porn game. Just head over to Sexlabs and find your fetish.
Or make an open world survival/hunter game. Frostfall + Hunterborn + Requiem + RNaD + Purity. Hunt shit with your longbow, collect pelts, make fur armor, and sell your goods. Aim to make a cabin somewhere. Fuck dragons and nord nonsense.

How many skyrim threads there were in past months, tes/morrowind ones, and skyrim modding ones? The "why people love bethesda" one didn't even reached bumplimit.

It seems we have divided amount of people who both love this shit and don't. And bethdrones are in no less amounts than haters.

I got Fallout NV :^) and Dragon's Dogma already, Skyrim seems like the other obvious choice.

The combat will stay shit regardless. The AI never gets good, the pathfinding stays awful, the enemies are boring and the dungeon layout is still utter shit (even worse than the generic caves from Oblivion).
If you don't mind all of that, it can be a good way to get distracted for a couple of hours, might even be entertaining for a little bit. That's all.

I think the dungeon design is probably the thing that's killing me most at this point. The combat may be shit but often I'm able to pretend it's okay. But running RNaD and Frostfall, and discovering the associated comfiness of setting up my tent and campfire in the entry chamber of a Nord dungeon as a blizzard rages outside, I can't find Skyrim's dungeons satisfying anymore.

I want to explore a smaller number of much larger, more complex dungeons. I want to have to set up camp inside because it takes several in-game days to explore. I want to organize a team of porters through the already-cleared areas to transport my loot out and food in. The complex of Mzinchaleft, Raldbthar, and Alftand, all connected by Blackreach, is getting close to the kind of scale I'm talking about, but making that the norm instead of one counterexample.
I got a bit of what I was looking for with Dragon's Dogma, on Bitterblack Isle, but that's not quite what I'm looking for either. I still want an open surface world, which DD left rather underdeveloped, I found.

It's so frustrating because it wouldn't even really be much more work to create this kind of dungeon. In fact, their constant reuse of assets wouldn't be as big a deal in such a system, because instead of many dungeons all being somehow identical you've got a single dungeon where it makes sense for passages to resemble one another. It just needs more creativity and skill to effectively design, which are traits of which Bethesda is utterly devoid.

I want a maze like dungeon that rounds all around the world ala Megaman legends with some really deep areas that resemble Arx Fatalis. I fucking love dungeons in general, Skyrim has the worst on the TES series (in general, Oblivion had many shitty dungeons, but at least there were more traps, some hidden walls and shit and not all of them were fucking circular and shallow as fuck).

The funny thing is that while Skyrim is a terrible game, it's still the best lewd game we have right now. You can't make similar recommendations that offer as much. Plus "muh open world" makes every sex encounter unique to some degree.

That proves that while Morrowind is objectively the easiest to fix, Oblivion is the one which is actually the best once you put enough amount of work into fixing it.

Kinda sad to triple post but this is absolutely unique and interesting.
Getting defeated can result in multiple fucked up situations happening and even the transformation of your character into something else. There was also a mod to make YOUR MUSCLES GROW as you trained. You could even add a proper bodyscar system to remind you of your past mistakes. It makes your character genuinely feel like it evolves. You could start as a literal fuckboi who gets wrecked by anything and end up as a walking legend full of battle marks and stories to tell. What kinda pisses me off is that NO OTHER MODERN GAME actually does this and the ones that do are outdated so it's actually an under-used idea.

But for Skyrim's gameplay is even worse than Oblivion and that's unforgivable and I get bored when I explore shit.
Mods need to fix this, but it's not easy.

As long as I've been dealing with Skyrim there's just some things in it mods will never fix as long as it remains on the current engine. That being said, whenever I get a better rig I'm going to spend months making Skyrim a perfect lewd game. Then maybe share the modlist to those who are interested

It's not the worst thing I've ever played, I just wish combat was more engaging. Mods help to fix a lot of stupid little things in the base game, but they can't change the oh-so-boring foundation of it.

If it makes you guys feel slightly better, you can have those World of X games in space with Star Conflict, from the few hours I played it's kinda cool and a good variety of ships. Not sure how active it is as last I tried it was a year ago.
