Well, it depends completly on what you are building. You can investigate like in AAI, and use >logic with witnesses.
We have different formats.
AAI that is only investigation stuff.
Normal that is only courtroom stuff.
And hell format that is like the games, investigation and courtroom but they take forever to end.
We also have jury and civil formats both courtroom only.
Investigations are the second most used format too.
Thing is, if you played Ace Attorney you'll know that courtroom action is much closer to "investigation" than actual law.

Version 1.8 looked glitchy, but after running it as admin everything is fine!

Detective writes before case starts.
Witness 1 writes after seeing detective's testimony.
Witness 2 writes after seeing witness's 1 testimony.

What's the average length of a case, including filling out roles and potential delays?
Well, around 4 hours casing…and 2-3 hours building the case.
Setting up the roles can take from 15 minutes to 3 hours, it depends on how many people are online at the time. Even if there are 70, maybe all them are already casing.
The case itself can take anywhere between 3 hours and 6, it all depends on how people handle it really.
Not all roles are required to stay there during the entire case though. And while it sounds awful to play a game that will probably take 4 hours of your time, try it once, you'll see that time passes very quickly when playing this.
