I feel like BDO was the last chance MMOs had to be great again. I played it right from the start. The Korean CBTs were fucking incredible. They had almost everything I could have asked for, giant roaming world bosses, expansive guild system with multiple specializations (combat, merchant, religious), NPCs that actually have meaningful interactions that you have to put time into, a massive world with a ton of detail, an extremely detailed character creation system, and an emphasis on players cooperating and coordinating themselves during attacks. It was the most agonizing experience of my life to see all of these features removed and replaced with shitty f2p RNG shit. Even the things that remained got watered down until it was meaningless. I finally realized that the game was doomed for good when player trading got removed and the WESTERN player base was FUCKING PRAISING THAT DECISION.
