Where is my painstaking micromanagement NASA simulator? Like a head of Space Task Group simulator? I want it like Football Manager sims but all levels. So you have to manage the STG, contractors, Mission Control, remote sites, the astronauts, the PR, the wives, the backroom techs, the MCOR + trech, the IMB guys, the developement going on at MIT and your network to them, Mission Planning, Pad crew and range leader, Lunar geology, etc., etc..
You start during Mercury with Mercury Control, then Gemini, and the move to Houston for Apollo. So things get more and more complicated.
And you can dive in at all levels. From the top, like as a director your managing the whole of the project. Looking at it as an Engineering Systems and budgeting and contracting sim. Then you can jump in and be like Chris Kraft building the MCOR/Mission Control team, or say Gene Kranz or Jerry Griffin and then you're in MCOR as Flight actually managing a mission.
Then you jump to Head Astronaut and you're Deke. Okay flight assignments, well each guy has his own strengths and weakness and incompatibilities. Like you can't put Wally Schirra and Gus Grissom together on a flight, you also can't put Wally on a long duration flight. Oh and what's that? Al Sheppard's fucking Cape Cookies again and doesn't care who finds out? Gotta get the PR people in to handle that.
Training the astronauts like in a football or even horse racing sim would be rad as well.
Maybe you get a disaster like Apollo 1,jump back to the director and somehow you have to keep the whole project together and on schedual. You've got an investigation to do, you have safety inspectors driving themselves and their family in front of a train. You got morale issue with the surviving astronauts, you have contractors fighting and slinging blame.
In fact hell if I can't have my space autism magnum opus I'd even take one that focuses on training and flying one Apollo mission. Maybe a J mission like 17 so you get the flight, landing and rover. So you gotta manage the personal lives, professional lives and training of your crew. Plus the PR schedual to keep the bosses happy, any squabbles or personal conflicts, any surprise events(like, oh say, helicopter crashes into a river, *cough*geno*cough*). Then you have to actually fly the mission. You have pad and then ground support, but you got to watch the readouts, enter the DSKY nouns and verbs, flip the switches. So more detailed flying than Kerbal. Get to the Lunar surface and have to set up the ALSEP and safely get your geology work done. I'm getting too long here, but think you get the picture.
I actually had a lot of fun playing that, but it is a damn shame that the multiplayer is almost completely dead. At least the devs are still working on it

Anyone here still playing ED? I'm trying to outfit my beluga to go out exploring, Decided to use it because of the best fuel usage per jump and I could use it for SLF and the SRV. Not doing any passenger missions because fuck them and they're so sensitive and needy.
This build was for when I was grinding out low range passenger missions for Empire rank but now since I'm done I can get rid of weapons and the cabin slots. Decided to go with high shields incase of being a retard of not be able to land high g planet without flying myself into the ground and for self preservation against random pirates. Looking to head out at least 20kly from the bubble and hoping to put my name in some planets out there. Any ideas?

If you really want your fighter hanger out on your trip this is what your best bet is if you are actually worried about things out in the deep black. However by about 10,000 out from the bubble you are going to be wishing you had a bigger fuel scoop so consider moving it up to a size six and scrapping the fighter all together. You could use the 4 slot for another AFM unit.
That looks pretty good, I could get more jump range like that. I see why I need to upgrade that fuel scoop, with the belugas heating problems and that fuel tank, I wont be able to go closer to a star without burning up and I'll spend nearly 10 minutes filling up my tank. The fighter hanger I wanted for some canyon flying and maybe POI scouting since the beluga is a damn whale in planets.
The beluga is a very nice ship, just have to watch when I wake out from a planets surface.
Decided to go one of those tourist mission locations but without the pesky tourists to see what was so special about it and to go somewhere close to the bubble to try out exploration. Man those 2g planets are no joke, the landing wasn't graceful. I wanted to fly around the planet in my fighter but like hell do I trust my crew member to control that ship in this planet, I fucking told her to stay put and It kept facing me, I didn't want to see what would happen if I flew lower.

But there are a great number of dead galaxies out there because the blackhole in the middle ate up too much matter in a short amount of time, releasing large amounts of energy, blowing away the matter from the core and stopped star formation. Also the best shooters unfortunately do not have those realistic bullet physics features because the only ones that do are shitty boring games like ARMA or Rainbow Six that prioritize realism over fun. I think you should design your games with no setting in mind and have everything be grey boxes until the gameplay is finished then you can worry about the rest. The problem with garbage like Rainbow Six is they ask "how can we make a game about realistic tacticool operations" instead of "how can we make a setting that explains the game we made."

Now the interesting part is the game is dropping their 32-bit EXEs for PC and going full 64-bit, probably for addressable memory space. Meanwhile Vader arrives on his Star Destroyer on the EXACT vector the Rebels are trying to jump from, and proceeds to subdue the ENTIRE rebel fleet with his ONE ship.
The battle would have been a lot more dramatic if the Star Destroyers closed in on the Rebels right from the start and showed that they were in some sort of danger. Instead it was just two fleets staring stupidly at each other while the fighters were doing all the work and the Mon Cal commander decided "Oh, the Star Destroyers are dangerous, I have an idea to wipe it out with a tug."

So this quirky fucking corvette wedges itself into the side of the Star Destroyer, engages it's space afterburners and applies acceleration to the front part of the Star Destroyer. The only source of thrust is coming from the side of the ImpStar which as you can see is causing it to swing the front end around
Likewise from being disabled the ImpStar being pushed is now under the effects from gravity

Star Wars has never been science fiction. Is this bending and breaking the rules of Physics? Sure. But we never fucking cared about how physics were being broken by the Death Star hyperspacing into fucking inhabited systems and orbiting planets. The effects would be horrendous and devastating. I wish it were more like LOTGH where both sides have their fucked up negatives and their plus sides, but the overlying reality that there is war and loss of life and suffering is the one thing that both sides have in common. I would love to see a retelling of All Quiet on the Western Front but in star wars. Then again, if you want to see humanization of soldiers in a military machine, you might as well read the Forever War, which is the polar opposite of the "sanitized" universe that Star Wars is.
