Were they, dare I say it, /ourguys/?

In all seriousness though, what is Holla Forums's view on refusal of work?

dub-trips-dubs confirm

work is always suicide jobs are always suffering

The right to withdraw your labour is pretty high up the hierarchy of rights, which is why I refuse to serve queers at my shop

lol

pretty shitty parody and clearly written by a reactionary

webm related

ONE seems to write everything as Buddhist parables. It's a little reactionary, but also pretty great and rebellious at times.

I'm so fucking tired of everything being a "parody" or "deconstruction". One Punch Man was way shittier than it could have been with those great action scenes because of the stupid fucking concept. I'm tired of self-awareness and cynicism. It's like the entertainment equivalent of being on reddit.

Work for the sake of work shan't be our mantra.

We work for the sake of improving our lives and getting fulfilment.

Create a parody of a parody or deconstruct the deconstruction genre, then you can unironically enjoy your shit taste shounen shows again.

this

I hate the glorification of work among the left

But enjoying One Punch Man is the same user, you just feel smug about it. It's the exact same thing in substance just with one joke repeated the whole time.

Honest question: With current technologies, how is anything supposed to get done if nobody works? I'm not talking like, Sushi-levels of dedication to your job, but the populace at large can't just aspire to lounge around and do nothing all day. In fact, I doubt anyone but a lazy sloven would.

Checked.

But assuming the impossibility of FALC as an immediate option, how about improving working hours and implementing community service for shite jobs? Assuming a decently sized first world country, a 30 hour or less workweek should be achievable, as well as free education and services so people can pursue careers instead of being slaves to shitty jobs.

I like that show because I hate watching shounen shows that take themselves serious. The ridiculousness and parody nature of OPM is what made it fun.

your will is legitimate. But how do you expect to live comfortably if you won't do _any_ kind of work?

Your idea only works as a personal idea.

But if it doesn't take itself seriously it's basically admitting to itself that it's not worth the time. Kung Fury is a pile of shit, but Commando is good because while the first one doesn't take itself seriously, the latter does while still being fun. As Renzo Novatore said, "the only serious people are those who know how to be actively engaged laughing".

KYW mr adultman

I admit that I'm only halfway through reading it, but that anarchist library link has partially addressed that, may fully address it.
They seem to be coming to the point which many leftists make which is: humans do like to do active, productive things, but not in the context of "work"

It's true though, you shouldn't be so timid and so afraid to commit to an idea! Don't just hold what you're doing at arms length, go all the way and take it seriously!

Ah, but then we have two issues:

Because when people use "work" they usually mean "anything people get paid for to do", whereas they use work as in "anything you have to do that isnt fun or enjoyable".

I would say theres still things we might need to reward/have community service for as of now, until we have automated all the shitty jobs.

This is why I advocate for a market socialist system with basic income. The shittiest jobs will be the highest paying (somewhat) so you have a clear indication of what needs automation first.

I dont like shounen shows because the splot is fucking retarded but it is written as if it is a serious, engaging narrative. I dont like this. Whereas things like OPM doesn't act like its a serious show about real emotional issues, its a gag show with pretty good animation.

But OPM has a really sub-par plot, even compared to most shonens it's just hidden behind a veil of irony that makes watching it seem more acceptable. Mob Psycho 100 was a lot better in every way because it wasn't a cop-out.

Yes, thats what I said. Its a gag show.

Mob phycho was unironically good, but it wasnt a typical superhero dballz show

It was pretty typical, it was just a good one. Honestly I really don't see the point in a gag show based on one joke that's an actual show and not just shorts or something like that. Take things seriously!

no

But irony kills fun by creating barriers to it.

Irony is fun

We could probably do 20 hours or less a week, tbh

even Keynes expected 15 hours at this point

if everyone stopped working at once, we could probably kill capitalism in a week

It just seems so backwards that so many people can't find jobs or end up in a job they're far over qualified for, while those who are working need to put in longer and longer hours.

It seems Capitalistic rather than backwards.

General strike is the most powerful tool of the working class, yes. Capitalism wouldn't even be killed in a week, it would be instantly killed if 100% of the working class stopped working.

To be fair, most of the post-recession jobs have been part-time work. The problem is that they don't pay enough.

I mean, yeah, kinda
Saitama is basically Stirner when it comes down to it as well

Yeah well that's capitalism for you. Proof that Marx was right about extending the working day to maximise profit
