But in all seriousness Rance is not for fugging.

Rance 1, being the first in the series ofcourse, introduces the characters but isn't that great. If you really want to delve into all the Rance game and you really want to play this one, just use a walkthrough throughout the whole thing and finish it in 2 hours.

Rance 02 is decent, introduces some more important characters and I'd say you ought to play it if you wish too.

Rance 3 and 4 are good dungeon crawler games on their own right with fine plots of their own. I enjoyed playing them. Rance 4.1 and 4.2 don't seem that important I think and it's a chore to play them, since you have to use Virtual Box. The biggest thing about it is that it introduces Genri, that bald monk who appears a bit in Sengoku Rance.

Kichikou Rance is a non canon game that ends all the story arcs from prior games. Great game, you should play it regardless.

Overall, I'd say that if you really want to, you should play the old games, mainly because personally, I find it better to catch up on all the small winks and references characters make and playing through all the games gets you to know the characters better as well. For the most part though, I don't think it is absolutely necessary to play the previous games, but I'd say give them a try at least. the pomf link in this image seems to be expired so don't bother with it.

So what are the chances that MangaGamer releases Sengoku Rance uncensored next? I'm assuming they're skipping all the older games but if the go straight to Rance Quest people who didn't play Sengoku Rance will wonder why Sill is in a huge ass chunk of ice. I would play Sengoku Rance again uncensored.

Just bear in mind that Rance is objectively a hero in that world and as such usually the one to put a stop to it. And also that it's probably the tamest series in that regard when it comes to Alicesoft.

Then again, if you're simply a thinskinned bitchmade faggot who'd let all those qt's go to demons and shit over a few scenes (he could've usually prevented) across multiple games, I understand. :^)

Though one of the games has him destroy an entire kingdom and fuck over its ruler magnificently for fucking with his girl.

Hmm, at least in presentation wise, I'd say so. The first two games felt like simple quests with no great plots but Rance 3 and 4 definitely have that grander adventure type story. The gameplay is totally different from the first two games and while Rance 3 is still easy, at times, Rance 4 can get a bit challenging in the later parts. You can go ahead and give them a try, Rance 5D and 6 are releasing on Decemeber 23. These games should hold you off till then.
