I know you guys like to hate MMOs, but secretly keep playing them.
Can you recommend me some lesser known action MMO to sink hours in? I know you gotta be playing something, I'll play it with you. Try not to recommend anything you're not currently playing though, if I wanted single player game I wouldn't ask for mmo one.

Something that I won't play and why:
I got sick and tired of it, I need some fresh air. I think it's the best one on the market currently, but I got too much play time in it.

Got tired of developers removing things I like. I don't want to play such game.

I didn't quite like world design with everything being separated by some sort of doors or corridors. See that forest? It's just a decoration.

I played on my buddy's invite code and was quite amazed by graphical fidelity. But despite being seamless open world it puts so much limitations on you it's frustrating. Also pay to loot pets got me really angry. I don't want to play it for free, let alone pay for it.

Played it a lot a long time ago but quit because of stamina system. I might return to it actually if we can get a bunch of anons playing, which I doubt.

Another game I'm tired of playing. Stamina system in there is quite unintrusive, so I put quite a lot of hours into it. Now I want something more 3D.

pic unrelated

It sure as hell isn't unknown but now and forever play runescape. It's all you need

There's always Blade and Soul.

I wont play it with you because I hate cooldowns on moves.

I wish there were pso2 clones.

Try Kingdom of Loathing. It's an oldschool browser MMO, it suits casual play more than catassing as it imposes a daily limit on actions, it can be extended by eating and drinking alcohol but there is no way to bypass it. It has a shitload of content and the game is laden with references and humour.

I remember that game, I ended up breaking the economy and making a few billion meat by buying up an entire supply of a certain item. You any good at speedrunning it?

It's not an action game. I want to swing sword and jump around, not just click things and watch animations playing out in order.

Is it like Tera? It also has action combat but cool downs on abilities and even dodge rolls.
I think I didn't BNS try it because there were threads about censorship on it. I think devs publisher even went as afar as reducing boob sizes and making clothes less revealing.
I don't want to play such game too!

I'll look into it, but being browser game doesn't sit well with me.

...

I just found it about a week ago, been enjoying it so far.

I don't hate MMOs. It's just that there hasn't been a good one yet.

Look man, I wasn't there for the censorship shit. All I know is that I cant play it without masturbating, so I don't play it anymore.

Censorship or no, it's fucking sexy.

Age of Wushu has so much shit in it, you'll grind yourself to death forever over it. Or pay obscene amounts of money, which is what the filthy chinks want you to do. I'm the only autist left from the Holla Forums guild, though.

I'm definitely not playing this, I'm sorry.

Impressive tor browser friend! Good or bad is subjective, I think PSO2 and DFO are very very good.

Well I guess we could play on some other version. But if you don't want to, then we have to come up with something else.

Does it have fast and exciting combat system?

I bet you hate MUDs too faggot.

I wouldn't say so, since i'm not a fast or exciting person and all i see are skill cooldowns and rotations. It IS an open PVP game, though, and there's enough variety that odds are SOMETHING will click with you. Also, everyone's a million times stronger than you so actual PVP is kind of out the window; still holding out hope for a new server to launch, though.

I don't think I know what MUDs are, but you see I don't hate point and click or ability based combat.
I played quite a bit of FF14 and Diablo clones.
It's just NOW I want action game to play with other anons.
So please, don't get frustrated for no reason.

I guess I'll give it a pass because of earlier mention. I'm sorry to hear that you're the only one left.
I kinda dig the idea of Wuxia video game.

and you should stop playing as well

age of wushu is a great game, but the server is in too terrible a state to justify playing.
If you're in europe, give age of wulin a try; there's a channer running one of the largest guilds, it's much better over there.

Your non-confrontational demeanour is commendable, however.
hownew.ru

the combat system is the best of any mmo i've played. It's my favourite MMO of all time, nothing really compares.

Well I looked it up and it seem like something I won't be playing either way. I can see the appeal though.

I might believe you're not lying and just have very specific taste, but now way I'm touching it, sorry.

Elsword :^(

fuck me hit wrong checkmark

if you like sandbox mmos, then age of wushu is sadly just about the best MMO on the market right now. You shouldn't try it, though, unless you're going to play on wulin and have MuhammadPBUH (that was his name on wushu) mentor you. There's no info about the game online, so you have to find a shifu to learn the esoteric mechanics.

Hey I play elsword too!

to bad im leaving for BMT in 10 days

I looks like a mobile game. Is that why you memed it? Or there is some history behind it? Tell me about it.

I watched some videos and it looks like a wow kind of game with more emphasis on movement, which is pretty cool. I might try it sometime when I'm in mood for it, but not this time.

...

That looks like old gameplay, but it does look relativly the same. They mainly focus on the art of the characters, not the ingame art if that makes sense.

Its combos are basic at first but you get some new ones after a while. And the skill tree has changed so I dont yet understand it. They've also been recently making it less pay2win but i've never really cared about that since i havnt spent a dime and i got to S rank in pvp.

And the stamina system is basically non existant.

Plus I get a free trip to japan, and can be stationed there as long as i want :^)

Assuming I'll give it a go, do we have a guild/team?

I've had enough on my main to make one, but I'm not sure. Its prety not well known so i dont think there is one already.

Also, DONT
FUCKING
TURN OFF
KOREAN V/O

Unless you like extremely cringy english voices. It will hurt you.

I'm currently on this since it has what we want. Difference is they haven't fucked me over with an update yet, but I'm sure it's coming.

My other option when I get tired of Kikeframe. I guess if you run out of options it seems like the least egregious. Though they're massive kikes as well with bank and character slots being heavily limited.

Never played it, but there was just a thread recently about the potential and fall from grace of this game.

barely played it, didn't catch me.

They may be worth checking out, but guys like me can't stomach the fact that they censored character models just because a few people complained.
Someone had a screenshot of the debacle where someone pointed out the majority liked the models as they were, but the devs responded that the "minority was more important."

I'm obligated to play since my friend bought us copies when they were on sale recently. I bet it's not quite as actiony as you'd like, but it isn't a straight wow clone either.

Looking at the options Kikeframe might be your best bet. If only to scratch this itch at least.

Looks like this game going to be one of my quickest uninstalls ever.

I used to play MMOs because I still believed in the lie of human interaction and sociability. Now I only feel disgust whenever I see any kind of multiplayer elements in a video game.

I just like grinding and coop.

It's because you've been raised in a fantasy world. You watched movies, you read books; you played video games where there are themes of true love, romance, and friendship. You filled your mind with the idea that conversations and socialisation were made up of honest, serious things. You thought people talked about life, dreams, and hope of the future like it was written in a script. You thought real life was going to be like that. You thought real life was supposed to be important. But it wasn't. Nothing anybody did was important. Everything felt artificial in the real world and games connected to the real world. People ignored one another, friendships were shams, and conversations were awkward and mostly filled with stupid bullshit. This is real life and for MMORPGs, a genre that inherently relies on real life. This is what it was all along. You've been tricked into thinking it was better by people who made and played video games but you've realised that video games aren't meant to reflect or involve real life. They are meant to escape it.

it's a damn shame it falls into the Korean mmo trap of giving everyone massive damage AoE attacks at high levels. It just becomes "nuke the enemies before they can act."

I tried to pick up just now and as usual there is a bazillion of events going on and my inventory is bombarded with shit I have no idea about.
I hate when they do this. Except they always do this, as if it's some kind of a mobile game.

I can just safely ignore it, right?

Hey OP, tried this one?
The mods are as thinskinned as you may imagine but the playerbase is generally decent, the server stable and the game fun if you liked vanilla wow pvp. AV in particular.

And apparently they finally got off their asses and added T4 (endgame) and public quests back in the game since I played last.

Holy shit I wrote most of that copypasta. You forgot to post Akari.

What about sky forge?
It's Russian and heavy grinding to the class you want but it's pretty much dungeon after dungeon smack em shit
I got to monk and haven't gone back but I'd play with you once I fix my computer on the 6th

Similar situation here. I figured I'd download it too and check it out. Who knows? Maybe we could actually make a fun 8ch group. Nope. For some reason the game will constantly stutter on me. On high and low settings so it might be my internet, but I don't encounter this in any of the other games that I play.

I did encounter it when I tried playing BnS recently (I knew about the Wildstar censorship, but I didn't know BnS was related) so maybe it's fuckery with GameGuard?

Oh it's a pasta? And I was writing serious answer to that. Oh well.

I think Elsword is just a mess in general. If your toaster can run BnS why wouldn't it low poly shit like Els? I gave it another chance and it decided to no mess with my config this time, but game itself is really underwhelming.
Very floaty, animations are low quality, it tries to be cuhrayzee but fails. Pointless platforming that can be completely ignored, but a lot of cringe worthy dialogues with kawaii uguu anime portraits that cover my entire screen with their ASPECT faces.
It indeed feels like a mobile game, I don't like it.
DFO follows similar formula albeit with 2.5D beat-em-up formula, and does it so much better.

I think I played it a while ago, what triggered me is that you character wouldn't swing a sword unless you got enemy in crosshair. Like what the hell? Apparently I'm not allowed to start combo early so one specific hit of it will connect when and where I need it to.
It had very cool classes and setting at least.
Did you play on russian server or there are EU/NA ones?
I might give it another shot, don't care much for character I had.

I'm not huge fan of PvP. I played a lot of fighting games when I was younger and now have hard time taking anything with stats and chances seriously. The whole moba genre being considered competitive is a joke for me, even though I see its value as fun drunk game.

If anything I'm looking for co-op action game where I with a bunch of anons can slash away at monsters and bosses.
I watched some videos on your game and it looks like target combat, something I don't want now, sorry.

I have no idea since my toaster is a pretty decent one. It plays everything else like Kikeframe, Tera, and ESO on decent settings just fine. No problems with emulation either.
My internet may be shit, but I rarely experience lag spikes.

Elsword and BnS just kept hiccuping though. The only commonality between them that I can see is both use Nprotect GameGuard, which was always janky shit back when I used to play Maplestory.

Either way, it's not like I'm missing out on much.

WDR reporting in
Moonlight Blade is probably the best Wuxia game made yet but Tencent guarantees we're fucked out of it getting decent US servers
DSO is OK, but it really highlights China's past lack of "qualified enthusiasts". It riffs off of Blade and Soul (quite successfully) but quality fails to compare. The new generation of free citizens for free products is entering the work-force, though, and things are rapidly improving.
With any luck, they could be first to break from the neverending WoW-clone market due to Korean influences. If they capitalize on western fascination targeted towards pretty much anything with flying swords and Kung Fu, they could even establish an independent identity in the global digital market.
