I can't name games that were ruined by the injection of politics, but many games that are good have little to on political voice. Games like doom, SotC, and Dark souls have great game play, and some excellent story telling to boot. Most games that express a political viewpoint do so either because the creator wanted to hamfist it in because of some topical want, or to attract those who share viewpoints. Even games that are right wing like IS defense, Hatred, and block lives matter are lackluster at best because they just want to shock and provoke rather than sell themselves on gameplay, much like left wing games like gone home, depression quest and her story. It's bad on both sides. When a game wants to be a good game first, and the politics are philosophical rather than topical, then the game tends to fare better.
