Go to home depot and by a tool belt, a claw hammer, a measuring tape, a hard hat and some safety glasses. Ask if there is work available and start hauling lumber. Take your time, get to know people and the trade, develop your skills, network, start company, achieve success, profit.

If you have absolutely no job experience in an area you might have to hit up a staffing agency. The work will suck more than anything but it's at least a paycheck and experience.

Downsize your living to an extreme. Buy an RV or trailer if you have to. The savings alone on utilities and the like will help dramatically. Live within your means always, buy what food you can in it's lowest state and work up. If you can, get a bank account and put $100 a month in or whatever you can muster. After a few months, take that to some form of investment or mutual fund. Do online banking, less rates. Do online investing, the companies with less overhead charge less in fees. No its really not that fucking easy. It took years of struggle for me to break out of poverty while self employed. Realize that there is no support for you, the government regulates against your interests by the will of the corporation, licensing and taxes are against you, and there's no assurance that you will get anything close to minimum wage. It took me years working 80+ hours a week to get anywhere at all, working for myself.
That said, I have become strong, wise, and skilled in ways that I could not have imagined when I began this path. I can support myself and my family regardless of the situation of the world around me, and I have the strength of character to face down whatever comes. I paid for this strength in pain, for the sake of myself and my kindred. I would pay this price again, twice over, if I could spare those I love the same cost.

Now that I sit and really think about it I would say 90% of all people I have ever hired or brought in were the same people who took the time to put a nice set of clothes on, comb their hair, and, on their own time, come into the building, come right up to the front/ask to meet me (without an appt), walk in and tell me they want to work for me and would be an asset. I can't speak for everyone but I would be willing to bet (heavily) that the vast majority of people who make hiring decisions would agree with me that we will always make room for such people.

Im a HVAC tech. Finished high school in 2015 and started trade school right after. Once I was done with school I got a job with a company and have been in the field for a little over a year now. I make 20hr and will only make more as I gain more experience. Get into trades or some kind of blue collar job OP, its definitely the way to go.

It used to be you tailored your resume and interview for the job, and different industries had set, well known expectations for how your resume was to be formatted and what they were looking for in an interview. Now, it's all mostly a crap shoot compared to how it used to be. You can go in many different forums for different fields/industries and find threads with hiring managers in the same exact fields as each other, stating what they look for in applicants and shitting on fellow hiring managers because they think one or others expectations are ridiculous or unrealistic, (and what they all look for as quality traits or skills can be vastly different). The fact is, they don't have to be consistent or have standards that make sense, it's an employer's market right now, there are more people looking for work than they have a need for, so just have to dance to their fucked up tune.

Getting rich quick is completely possible, but the majority of the ways to do so are illegal as all fuck.

Pretty shit ad that doesnt even mention the company I went through for my training. Just sharing my story. And yea I say on track because we're paid by the mile. Mileage depends on which loads are available. The nature of logistics work means this is always subject to change. But again theres a massive shortage of drivers so theres always freight to haul.

As far as automated trucks, these roads are an absolute shitshow. Theres a thousand things you have to account for everyday that you cant put into a data sheet, pedestrians, wild animals, construction projects that change a citys layout completely, idiot drivers who think jumping in front of a 25t semi doing 60mph with only 20 yds stopping distance is a good idea. They cant even figure out how to make google cars driving through neighborhoods not kill people, let alone semis hauling freight cross country.
