Does Celebrimbor's presence in Shadow of Mordor really elevate the game above the status of fan fiction?

Does Celebrimbor's presence in Shadow of Mordor really elevate the game above the status of fan fiction?

no

not when it's a QTE. the whole game is QTE.

In short, no

Rhythm games are entirely QTE and they're still fun.

Think of it as a free-form murder-based rhythm game and it's actually pretty damn fun.

No. Lord of the Rings did not glorify war, it treated it as an evil which good men had to resolve. That's why Frodo, one of the least violent characters, is the main hero and the one facing the heaviest burden. Such a setting has no room for a revenge porn story like SoM.

But they did it anyway, the langers

But it's the absolute perfect setting for a gore porn game because the enemies as numerous as they are stupid and despite being frightening as hell they fold over extremely easily and pose next to no threat to anyone at all

Dynasty Warriors does that much better. Heck even the LOTR movie games were fine because it still had the plot. But SoM glorified the kind of badass who doesn't belong on center stage in this setting. There's no Frodo figure for the protagonist to play second fiddle to.

It makes it more fan fictiony, especially when he decides he's going to make his own ring, with blackguards and hookers.

I haven't seen a lot of the story yet, but so far it's portrayed the main characters as a failure and a fool (Talion) and an amnesiac warlord with no sense of direction and no purpose (Celebrimbor)

I certainly don't envy either of them

Your boypussy is still fun

BFME and BFME2 were pretty fucking awesome, I like 2 better but both were great.

I haven't played SoM since it was apparently so easy you can turn off the screen, mash your keyboard, and still stay alive killing stuff in the hardest areas.

But MOTHERFUCKING BFME, NIGGERS

-500/10, shitty fan fiction that even deviant art wouldn’t accept.

I hear Guild Wars 2 is still around, maybe that game's more to your tastes.

Come, come now. We all know Tolkien was masturbating furiously making LotR, both literally and literary.

This.

The game was alright for showing the ecology of Mordor but that's about it.

It was contractually obliged fan-fic. Making it lore abiding would have broken the license. I actually enjoyed the batshit retarded skirting around material they weren't allowed to use.

No. Neither does it elevate the game above the status of shit

no, I have no idea who Celebimbo is, but in my eyes the game was so dull I quit after couple of hours, and nothing will save it
