Are there any "FPS Diablo" style games that dont suck?

Are there any "FPS Diablo" style games that dont suck?

shadow warrior 2 is good, at least compared to what it has to compete with.

Hellgate london might sort of qualify, I liked it enough playing it with no expectations but I understand it disappointed big time.

It has loot mechanics ? I played the first one and had fun.

Shadow Warrior 2 was awful.

Your joking right?

No

I've been asking this question for years and Shadow Warrior 2 finally answered. It's one of the best fps games released in the last year.

I wish steam cucks would fuck off.

Having to use a controller degrades any FPS. This isn't an opinion, it's a fact. Controllers are qualitatively garbage for shooters

If console shooters had mouse and keyboard support, they'd be fine. But developers refuse to do that, since they know anyone using m+kb would have a massive advantage over people who preferred controllers.

Destiny is my favorite game of the past 5 years.

Yeah but it's just pointing and clicking with a mouse. With a controller it is more satisfying to do well.

there's Skyrim, which is a fantasy FPS only with bows/magic and also an RPG like diablo

Kekerroni
I've never actually seen that one.

The first borderlands was okay actually.
I wouldn't call it spectacular or anything but I do think that it played okay.
Also it didn't have Anthony Burch writing for it so it didn't have completely shit writing filled with plot holes and memes.

I never played Borderlands, but Fallout 4 felt like a wannabe Borderlands.
I only played it for an hour
at a friend's house
on the xbone

WE GOT A LIVE ONE BOYS

Wow conglaturations

No bearing on the gameplay whatsoever.
I enjoy making fun of Burch as much as the next guy, but come on.

well do you want rpg first or fps first?

it certainly takes more talent to do whats more difficult, but dont expect anyone to admit it.

Borderlands 1.

What would it look like if someone were to literally recreate Diablo as an FPS?
Assume that Bowazon is the only playable class and all drops are bows/crossbows of some sort.

It might work pretty good as a first person hack & slash/ beat 'em up as well, sorta like Dark Messiah maybe.

why would you be locked to bowazon when there are other ranged specialists even among that one class?

Hoo boy where do I start.

Borderlands 1 might be dull at times, but it's still better than it's sequels.

It's the easiest to picture as being an FPS character due to equipment and skill options.

Litchdom:Battlemage felt pretty fps diablo to me.

But wasn't that the fucking selling point of the games? 'Millions of guns' or some such horse shit?
To be fair, I don't remember any of those being any good in the first one anyway.
That is impressive in a manner of speaking.

Borderlands 2 is a good game when and only when:

Eridian guns were just okay most of the time, but they actually felt different compared to their normal counterparts.

I fucking despise "it's fun if you play with friends" argument. So can shoveling manure if you have someone shoot the shit with as you're doing it. Unless a game is designed to be played primarily multiplayer from the very start, it should actually be enjoyable solo.

Sure in Diablo or Destiny or something I could have suspension of disbelief because the enemies are fantastical and outlandish enough for it to be maybe plausible. But when the bad guy is just some dude in street clothes, it doesn't make any damn sense

Borderlands is pretty much built to be played as coop user. Not my fault that they didn't try to make the singleplayer better.

impossible, because the method of loot-guns immediately ruins anything fun about using guns in shooting games, and instead you just pick the guns with high DPS instead of having the appropriate gun for the appropriate situation. another thing is all these games have incredibly weak weapon feedback, instead of having good hit effects, gore, gibs, knockback, or anything similar, guns just make numbers pop out of an enemy at different rates instead of having any remotely satisfying "gunplay"

I don't think Diablo ever really had all that many spongey baddies aside from Act bosses as it should be. Compare that to Shadow Warrior 2 where you have to dump multiple magazines of ammo into even the basic enemies near the end of the game.

Actually you're right. I was just venting since I see people use it as an excuse for way too many games.

You've got a point there. DPS whoring is also why Diablo 3 sucks compared to Diablo 2 or even say Path of Exile.

Playing with a controller is just moving your fingers though. Why bother?

actually heard the division update fix a lot of the game and probably worth trying but idk don't have the game its half off on Steam and i got like 38 steam bucks

Did they add anything to the game without requiring you to buy the DLC?

1.4 basically fix the foundation of the game more builds can be used dark sector better world tiers or something, and 1.5 is the survival dlc.
but again don't know that is all what i've heard

Because it has more in common with an actual gun and is more fun. Mouse is just pointing and clicking. Feels bad.

I might try The Division because it's on sale, since I refunded Rainbow Six Siege and have the steam dollary-dos. I may end up eating my words and like it, but after watching a couple of lets plays and shit on youtube, the bullet spongeyness of enemies really turned me off

:^(

I didn't want to play Ubisoft brand korean grinding simulator to unlock characters and a RMT store in a non-f2p game is cancer

Warframe is a 3rd person shooter/hackn'slash/ability spammer with an insurmountable grind.

BL1 felt great at some points when I was running around with a lightning-revolver that would make bandit heads explode and lightning go everywhere.

But then end-game comes along and everything becomes a HP sponge. Why do these games even have levels anyway? It made it really hard to play with friends because oops I'm 3 levels ahead of you and you'd have to ditch the guns you liked because all the numbers increased and the DPS sucks now. They should have just made it so levels only give you skill points or something.
