If all signs and symptoms of the disease disappear, that qualifies as remission. Remission doesn't have to be an indefinite thing, and type 2 diabetic remission is very, very rare, and when it does happen, it is pretty much capped off at a few years of remission. Just because you're still going to get diabetes later doesn't mean that you can't call it remission, that doesn't make any sense. Isn't that like exactly what remission means?
