Predators

Where are all the good predator games? Shouldn't it be a fairly easy concept to execute?
Did they just get banished to the same memory hole as Alien and Terminator games?

I wish Concrete Jungle had a sequel, or at least become the beginning of videogame stories involving Predators not the sexual kind.

Oh god.

I guess the wrong developers getting the license.

A Predator game done right would be rad as fuck. It would need to be hard though, stealth AI is usually very easy to manipulate and win against. Imagine trying to recreate the first film against Dutch's squad. In the film, the Predator took a good while to go through those men, in a game you'd wipe them out in five minutes tops.

Crysis 1 is a pretty good substitute and I cannot comprehend how Crytek wasn't hired to make a Predator game after it. And now the opportunity is lost since they've been destroyed by EA.

...

Maybe find a way to incentivize actually stalking/hunting certain targets
Sure you might blow through unworthy gangbangers, but the goal of a level is to actually hunt the squad of commandos or men in black that are trying to get you

The first Dishonored kinda scratched that itch for me. I dunno why people hammer on the "lethal playthrough penalizes you!"
It made perfect sense for Corvo to seek revenge and maybe be a bit deranged.
Deranged enough to play with guards and even hunt them down.
I remember the Boyle Mansion being the best bit of fun ever. Trying to silently murder everyone without alerting them (or they'd run out and you couldn't kill them all) was great.

I do miss AvP 2. The linear campaign doesn't really do much for me. The other more recent aliens game (not colonial marines) had a good Predator campaign aswell. Really felt like you were hunting humans, even if the skulls didn't serve a purpose other than being collectibles.

I liked Concrete Jungle. I don't understand the hate it tends to get. Mind you I was still in high school when it came out so who knows if it was good or not.

user you're dirty.

It was a shame that game never got a sequel thanks to colonial marines, they ended up nailing the aliens and predator in that game in terms of movement

In that game, the Xeno's had an hissing buton.
It's so fucking retarded, since it does nothing but alert enemies to your presence. It pretty much serves no purpose.

But then you hiss, they start to panic and run, make a dash into a dark room with you approaching from the ceilling. And when they let out a "Is it safe?" bite their heads and pop a boner.

got more?

...

Fucking hilarious. It's shit like that that makes me want to go get a MAGA hat or trump signs and booby trap them.

Modern devs can barely do genuinely simple shit like doom and you want a game with several types of vision, superhuman abilities,7-8 varied weapons and huge maps.

nigger most shooters in recent times have been half assed stealth action bullshit.
Far Cry is an entire franchise about that.

Predators can do a lot more shit than just cloak. From close to ranged combat + climbing shit.

Why isn't there FC mods about this anyways? The setting of pretty much any entry is perfect for this.

...

I did too. The story was shit but the gameplay was pretty good for the time. As a kid, I was a huge Predator fan and this game fulfilled a lot of my predator fantasies. I loved the fact that you could grab anybody by the face and just start ripping people apart and nailing them to walls one at a time. It was a very fun game as I remember it. It really doesn't deserve all the hate it gets. Maybe a little, but not a lot.

Alright, I'm going to Download all the Xenomorph and Yautja porn, and fuck this discussion's ass.

Although not exactly what you are asking for, The Hidden's gameplay is pretty damn close when it comes to capturing the feel of it

Mah nigga

I actually meant to imply otherwise.
The Xeno's hissing button was great.
I think it's the first example I can remember of somethign completely useless that actually made the game harder for you for no reason than looking cool.
And looking cool it did.
