If you have CFW, you can remove the name list.
If you have homebrew, which any firmware can have right now, you can use a save manager and PkHex to force a name.
Both methods don't work online as their rechecked aginst GF's servers.

There are stones for sale in the Battle Tree and apparently there's a shop in Festival Plaza that allows you to buy stones.

It's a shame because a while back I completed the game without snagging any pokemon and enjoyed the difficulty of the Admin battles and the Final Battles of the Domes as they all used real strategys and the domes gave you continues for each perfect win unlike the battle tower.

You know, that's another thing about those games I like, the music is pretty top notch. Colo's first battle and GoD's Mirror B. theme are some of my favorites. On that topic, Sun and Moon's main trainer battle theme had been giving me the same vibes, but Vast Poni Canyon is definitely the best song in the game. It's one of the few non-important themes to not get interrupted by the Ride theme, so even the game likes it. It just hits all the right spots for me, musically.

They didn't, they went from Voltorb an ice cream cone. There's always been pokemon based on inanimate objects, it's nothing special.

Charmander was designed by Atsuko Nishida, while the ice creams were designed by newcomer, westerner, and 3D modeler James Turner. He also gave us Golurk so it's not like he doesn't know what he's doing. As far as icicle Pokemon went at least he did something kind of interesting.

The story seems to be the only thing different from what you listed. I rode a lion that shot a laser into a different dimension just for a little girl to solve her mommy issues. Everything was pretty much fine, the damage was already done, no world saving needed.

Maybe just use some decently strong normal move.

If you look at Rowlet it has a bowtie out of leaves. Dartrix has a refined butler look going on, and then I have to agree that Decidueye breaks the chain. But at least it looks closer to its other evos than the other two starters do.

Sun fits the theme of the game more. It's based on Hawaii, it should be a sunny paradise-like location. Moon just seems too edgy for me. And you can always trade later on to get Beauty.

I feel like they both fit, my brother played moon and it felt more accurate when Cosmog evolved into Cosmoen then into Lunala, then Lunala warped into another dimension. It felt less out of place.

I do agree than Lion fits the Hawaii theme better, but the ghost fat fits the whole "Warping to another dimension" theme better.

Also, It's funny how I thought the theme of Tapu Koko and the guardians was going to be the theme of Solgaleo and Lunala, but it ended up being the opposite, and the Guardians ended up getting the more serious legendary theme. I got thrown off because the theme for Solgaleo sounds a lot like the Uxie/Azelf/Mesprit theme.

Hyper training IVs is actually just getting a Pokemon to level 100, going to the shopping mall on the first island, talking to some old guy, and giving him bottle caps. You can get them from trading it shards at that festival castle or some other bullshit, google it. As for lowering EVs, I think we're back to just berries, although I'm not certain.

Learn to hack your 3DS, it's one of the best features, you can actually make O3DS games use N3DS power. Sometimes anyway, not Pokémon.
