Has anyone successfully completed that mission with Dutch alive? I thought I almost did it once, but I somehow ended up with Dutch attacking me and had to kill him. Not sure if I fucked up or if that's just what happens if you actually get through all the metastreums. You can heal Dutch with your medkit so that makes it a lot easier.

Best weapon and armor combination for absolute start? Im willing to reinstall this game i have gone 5 lvls with heavy armor and gatling gun it was fun but i need to be faster.

Medium armor, Sulftatum is awesome but in the early missions you should dick around with other guns and weapons to see what you can get to work well. When you get to some of the harder missions you should probably go back to the Sulftatum. Only use heavy armor at the very end of the game. Make sure to get and try out a bunch of Cyber powers too, as well as to upgrade some of your cybertech. Ghost difficulty is pretty ridiculous but Master/Invasion should be doable. Nothing wrong with starting lower than that though if you don't get what you're doing.

Yeah, it isn't too bad. If I remember correct the max sentries you can have out is 8. Hack every turret you can find, then place three sentries on each side door and two at the top facing the door you entered through. If it turns out to be 6 and not 8 just remove one from each side.

madness is effectively the same as hacking someone but instant, with the tradeoff that the target is still hostile to you and needing line of sight. Make two or three feds mad, hide behind something for a second so they focus on something else, watching the fireworks.

Personally I prefer a single strong clone over a group of weak ones. Doesn't get in my way as much.

Basically hack all the turrets you come across, bring the sentry-guns from the landing pad and place all the sentry-guns so that they're on top of the consoles and end up covering each-other in order to make sure that no one can get close enough to knock them over. Not that they should be able to in the first place, you did place them on top of the consoles/computers right?

I've done it several times on ghost. I used the minigun to mow down enemies as quickly as possible, while sticking to dutch and healing him every chance I got. You don't have much of a chance unless you heal him.
Sentry guns are a pretty good bet if you have them. You definitely want that minigun though.

Mars. Fucking huge even by EYE standards, is full of powerful enemies and there's loads of ways to beat it.
Spiculum Ovum. An SO, 12 mags and grenades are all I need. You can snipe with it, you can set traps with it, you can bombard chokepoints with it and you can disrupt groups with it. I just wish the regular grenades were the sticky ones and the SO's ones would bounce.
Snipers. It's fun to arc a grenade across the map, straight into them
Accuracy + maxed out legs + Hunting Machine. It's almost like playing Quake with the railgun.

How do you farm that map for brouzoufs? I like to hold a turret and just tuck myself in a little nook somewhere that I can hold it out (the first room to the right is good), but I occasionally get destroyed by grenades.

The spawn in the right is just behind the door. During the siege, if you can cover the left entrance where dutch is, you can stand in front of it and control the rate of the enemy spawns. Free brouzouf as long as dutch lives.

No reason to not just load up the map for bonus missions. I've probably spent more time dicking around on New Eden, Mars, and Electric Sheep than I have on any single campaign.

But doing it that way means it's just flat out free, especially since synicles don't spawn. You can also use it to get a fuckton of backstabs easy just for the hell of it.

I think time-wise Mars still beats it, simply since you can teleport in and out and just gate the Deus Ex and Interceptors, then medkit yourself back to full health. It requires more involvement but you get far better returns.

Otherwise just do the start of Minos and set up your six sentries, since you have a wall to your back and a narrow bridge that funnels monsters.

Something I just realized. I have 78 hours of game time logged in this game, but during that time I've never gone on a rampage in the EYE HQ (Well except, you know, the end). I'll at least try that in most games when possible, but never in this one. I think respect is the wrong word, but I have something like that for this game. I have similar feelings towards STALKER, where I've never shot up the starting village in SoC, or worked against Skadovsk in CoP.

Just finished my first game. I still have no idea what's really going on but I'm starting New Game+. Should be interesting. I'm about level 28. Class is Equilibrium Lord. I think I'm going to focus on CyberCloak/Backstabs this playthrough.

Remember to use the Ghost hologram generator.

It's almost the same as the final mission where you go kill Rimanah. Outside of the four pillars being there and the merchants being gone, it's the same layout, enemies, and structure. Also probably the one location where the Excidium is genuinely useful instead of a fun diversion.

Both of them have better atmosphere than my examples. I'm just a sucker for dreamlike plots, and getting that culmination of all your talks with the metastreums makes me love it even harder.

You wouldn't believe how cheap last-gen servers are on ebay. 128gb RAM, two octocores that I swapped out for hyperthreaded decacores - the most powerful x86 CPU series in the world 5 years ago, and now they're $70 if you're a little patient on ebay. I'm only using 2 sockets, I'd have gone for 4 processors (80 vCPUs) if I hadn't destroyed a tire and had to buy a new set.

No, it's because SRCDS is a poorly-documented piece of shit, and EYE is even worse when it comes to documentation. And the dev I added hasn't accepted the request yet. And the Steam forums are filled with contradictory information, and it doesn't seem to work.

I'm rolling the VM back a bit to get a fresher start, since the configs have turned into a clusterfuck. Remember, kiddos: snapshot early, snapshot often. Even if the differential snapshots take like 12 minutes to make and clog up your datastores.

The only thing you need to know when going in is that ghost difficulty + invasion respawn rate are the way to go and that the minigun is a crutch for those that can't git gud.

Is there an easier way to hack through the ventilation shaft on Mars? I upgraded my hacking, wasted a bunch of brouzoufs on neural upgrades but even after that (about +20 total) hack points, my viruses still upload slower and my HP doesn't increase to match the fucking 400HP the vent shaft gets.

You don't have to have equal hacking stats to win, just make the objective's stats 0, overflow and attack.

That's what I'm trying. I can't shield, mask and scan fast enough and I get overflow+attacked.

Never use Scan. The enemy's tactics depend on yours. Use Mask, and they'll use Overflow.

You can put it in one of your side holsters, it may be shit but it's lot like it has to compete with a main weapon, you can bring it along for fun.

Back in the early days it was fine when a single box of ammo had 40 shells (20 reloads) in it, you would only have to carry three before you maxed out at. But they made the weapon garbage by reducing the box of shells from 40 to fucking 12.

The enemy will only overflow when your attack is low, if you raise your attack the enemy will mask or shield. It's only a matter of taking away its attack and shields, and raising your attack. Sometimes, you don't even have to scan. You can just mask to 0, overflow to 300, and attack continuously.

The real endings are the thing before the final level, the final level is always the same. The different endings are signified by getting the gates.

In the first case, your mentor attacks you for being a traitor. In the second, he wants you to kill him so you can absorb his strength. That's why you get the substitution gate in one, and the triangular gate in the other. Regardless, you always end up killing Rimanah.

His problem is that he's a ghostly manifestation of the best friend you betrayed and murdered, and he's your mind's way of trying to let you know that you're a piece of shit. You need to beat the game 3 times to find out the truth.
