Two big tips I can give you are. One learn the maps. Map knowledge is like half the game. And two learn how to tweak your car. I had the same problem when I started and I actually know what I'm doing. This game is a lot better with a nicely tuned car. Practice on time trials and shit some.

I almost had that snowy map down. For a bit there, we had the same cars on rotation, and while the one I got comfy with was in rotation, I got within spitting distance of your times.
