It's a bit of a shame how Arch has gone to shit. It's still one of the better DIY kind of distros but when you're working with 20 different depenencies for just one fucking package, it becomes rediculous. With installing Steam you specificly need the 32-bit versions of gtk and pacman doesn't do that for you so it took me a good whole while just to figure that out. Glad I did finally but there are so many ways to get around it. Really what I want is a distro is something that gets me set up in terms of video, audio and input then lets me put on whatever software I want. Manjaro's pretty good for that so I went with it after getting pissed off with working with xorg and Arch. Turned out I didn't need to use xorg but needed to use xrandr but that's a discussion for another time about how fucking retarded Loonux wikis are written.

I spent enough time cutting my teeth on Arch to crave that built-from-the-ground-up distrobuilding shit, but they've gone so far off from what I want that I refuse to even touch it anymore. Worst part is that it doesn't even have the basic shit that other distros have. I had an instance where I wanted to install another package over top of one already in the base. It's impossible to force uninstall a package, and installing that package manually made pacman have an aneurysm about two packages owning the same files. Even apt, which I despise, has a way to forcefully uninstall a package and hold it so it's never reinstalled. How dare I know better than the shitty package manager, right? That's why I always use Slackware whenever I can, but really, I'm sick of setting shit up myself. I'm at the point where I want shit to require as little set-up as possible, while also having some comfy UNIX shit to fuck around with. If only OSX wasn't such a botnetted piece of shit. I might still hazard it because I'm that fucking jaded.

Lost Kingdoms II was one of the few that I've paid average price for somewhat recently, mainly just because I never fucking see it around. The first game, sure, just saw a beat as fuck copy the other day (I speculate if Activision hadn't been publisher, that game might be less prone to being treated so badly by owners of it), but I've probably only seen the second game twice. Thankfully despite the increasing popularity of FromSoft, it's mostly kept price hikes quarantined to the King's Field, Echo Night, and Shadow Tower games, from what I've been seeing. Otogi 1 and 2, Eternal Ring, Evergrace, Forever Kingdom, and Lost Kingdoms I and II have next to no demand, though LKII is still about $40.

But yeah, for the most part, I don't buy the first copy I see, especially if with some luck I can get it cheaper. Applies to other systems than the Gamecube as well (also might be autistic of me, but I have a shoebox of receipts as proof of some of my finds).

I remember hearing something about the ancient romans or greeks having this square bladed sword or speak that they'd stab into victims and twist to leave a massive gaping wound but wouldn't kill immediately. The idea was to leave them in a huge amount of pain with horrific wounds and then just leave them there not quite dead so the enemy reinforcements would have to run past them and be demoralised by their begging for help/death. No idea if it was actually true of not because the source was my jewish english teacher from highschool who lied about everything and talked more shit than he taught.
