Every old vidya makes me feel like this

(checked)
I'm not crying over the plot though
Just the fact that nowadays it seems to be impossible to release a game like this anymore.
Ambitious and just well made shit like F.E.A.R, Supreme Commander and Crysis and more.
Nice dubs by the way

Most old vidya makes me feel nostalgic, doesnt necessarily make me cry.

I also meant not crying, just disappointed in this industry.

If TIE Fighter were to be made today, gameplay intact but with updated graphics and audio, it would be considered a blockbuster hit.

It is quite true that they really do not make games like they used to.

Bump

I really miss Klingon Academy.
It wasn't just a great game for a Star Trek game, it was a great game full stop.

This has to be one of the best Space games ever made. Easily top 5.
Inb4 Trek fags go muh Bridge Commander
That just proves they never played Klingon Academy at all

Download link if any anons want to try getting it to work

A man can dream…

>it's called Rogue Squadron: X-Wing vs Tie Fighter
They just wanted to make Star Wars dogfighting games. They knew how to do it good and that's all they wanted to. Now EA is going to instead.

I miss older LucasArts. Many great games, not all Star Wars related. Even the stuff they made that could be classified as average was enjoyable.

I don't know how the American game industry even exists anymore when it's so incompetently run.

I always say this about lucasarts. But even the most average, or even brokenish games like Obi Wan have something to offer to a player. Lucasarts was the shit.

...

Because people still buy videogames and think Uncharted is the pinnacle of this media.

Thanks user, will do

Reminds me of Rebellion and Free Radical with Battlefront itself.

They even made pic related enjoyable

Because normalfags flooded the industry along with kike shareholders.

Even they feel like the industry is shit

...

yeah user. i miss halloween too but holy shit

This gave me the oddest boner in history. Holy fucking shit, am I fucked up.

It's that porno stash and the fact the chick is running around with only a loose fitting overshirt.

Like Fable Lost Chapters for example?

I'll keep telling myself that. It'll eventually be true, right?

Marvelous acting

i didn't cry but i played Resident Evil 4 over Halloween and it made me realize we wont get games like that ever again

Oh, stop fucking whining
Arma 3 is by no means a casual vidya for compite retards for example
And just recenty Cossacks 3 has been released, and it is just fucking exactly as in the old days. Devs even kept the shitty graphics. So nostalgic, oh my God

im talking about a game like RE4 i dont deny games are still good its just we'll never get that kinda silly horror experience again

Of course it is
ITS A REMAKE OF THE FIRST GAME

Theres still some good shit, but most dont actually have a budget.
F.E.A.R if done nowadays it would be a glitchy near unplayable mess with untapped potencial and shit graphics made by a 3 guys from Washington.

PEOPLE ARE STILL PLAYING UT2004 MULTIPLAYER TO THIS DAY

A GAME THAT CAME OUT 12 YEARS AGO IS MORE POPULAR THAN GAMES THAT COME OUT TODAY

THIS IS SOME KIND OF CRUEL JOKE AND THEY KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH IT

Man, some people are still playing CS 1.6
What are you talking about

(checked)
12 years from now you think people will still be playing COD? Overwatch? Modern multiplayer games? That's my point. They know the formula to make games that their audience will love, and yet they ignore it. And the world really has gone to shit for making me feel outspoken by saying that.

morrowind and fallout 2/nv made me feel that way, I can't play morrowind anymore it makes me feel so sad at how I will never get a game this good again

The problem is in the lack of new ideas in game mechanics.
No innovation in gameplay in general. Still the same formulas that were used in decades ago

No distractable enviriment in shooters which can be used to make damage to your enemies, for example. This alone could make a game so fun and replayable for hundreds of hours. But maybe this is the problem. Game industry needs you to just buy a product and play it for a short time, while the next one is in the development. AC and COD speak for themselves I think. Have you seen Skyrim cut content? And this is only a fraction of it. The industry doesn't want an impeccable masterpiece which you are going to play for the rest of your life.

And also why bother, if you can make same shit over and over again and people will still buy it
Real enthusiasts with some really new ideas are in the indie sector.
Shit, fucking Minecraft is an indie game, and look how popular it is. This is a whole new concept "Build whatever you want to build", and it worked despite all the flaws of the implementation

Hahaha, gotta love the early Hollywood 90's attempt to adapt manga/anime.

Now you just reminded me why I hate how CRAPCUNTS are taking over the FPS genre now.

Startopia. You have no idea.
But I'll give you a small example:
The game plays out like Theme Hospital, but with a spacestation. You slap rooms down, put furniture in them, rake in cash.
One of the items you can put down is a vase. You then grab a plant from the biodeck and put it in the vase. Now, there was one little detail there that I always found amazing:
It's kind of an in-joke amount gardners and whatnot, but I loved the attention to the detail. Heck, the whole game is packed with shit like that too, it's pleasant to stumble upon little things like that every few minutes.
Those were games that made a solid base (gameplay) and then built on it. They used the quirks/capacities of the engine or the gameplay itself to make curious things and details.

I think most Dev's nowadays start games "from the top up". That is, they have an idea, and they force it on the engine. And since that idea is already a big enough thing, they don't bother with details.

Absolutely this, but not just that
Bethesdashit like you mentioned takes a long time to develop.

Its more of saving up on production costs and reusing assets to market the game as much as possible while before you had devs trying to polish and make a good game and ending up with no money to market their game.

...

It's also made by poor Ukrainian potato farmers who don't give a shit about modern game trends so that helps.

True enough, its was still a shitty bait and switch

...

WHY

>>>/suicide/

He didn't say what should he do though.

...

Yes, and that means he's gonna wackity schmakity you.
Not the other way around.

This game was great. Bannon did nothing wrong.

My GOTY for 2007

You see, the problem here is that developing games used to be a hobby, something that devs were passionate about, sometimes at their own expense. Something that was fun and interesting to do
Gothics for exapmle were made with so fucking low budget, but there is so much love, so much enthusiasm. Devs really put their soul into their game
Max Payne also was developed with no tremendous budget, Sam Lake's mom played Nicole Horne for Christ's sake

Yeah no other game comes close to scratching that Freedom itch as much as WiC does.

Absolutely, that Halo 343 vs Bungie video demonstrates that perfectly.

It truly was something else

That is a sage newfag try lurking more before you make yourself look retarded.

Jesus fuck

...

The email field can randomly redirect you to a couldflare email protection thing though even when sage is the only thing in it.

...

You have no idea, OP.

...

Try harder newfag.

Fucking Bannon
Also now I want to play it again. Are there any good custom missions/campaigns or stuff like that for WiC?

RIB Bideo Game

Its mostly multi since Ubishit killed the depositories.

Just found this site user
Has some recommendations and th enecessary for you to play online.
Fucking Jewbisoft did a complete cleanup of the game/franchise, you cant find anything official about the pacthes or the community, kikery at its best.
massgate.org/downloads.php#patches

Bannon was a complete fuckup, he deserved it.

fuck you

The only good thing he ever did was blaze of glory, what an incompetente fuck.

That's the point, user. He stood up and took responsibility at the end; he became the man he knew his father wanted him to be.

If you remove the B it spells Annon

After he fucked up in france and put into motion the things that caused the take over of europe bythe soviet union, afterhe fucked up in so many other fronts, costing so many lives by being an incompetent idiot, he deserved everything he got.

Nigga what the pushed the Commies outta France

Did you even play the game?

...

What movie is this supposed to be?

I clearly remenber him being the one to blame for the death of the french officer and the colapse of that battle.

...

You're lying. I refuse to believe that bullshit

Did you not hear what happened to Battlefront 3?

Daily reminder.

This is the future! Prepare to lose everything you ever loved and also have your mouth forcibly filled with shit!

>god-tier banter (especially in the original)
I could go on for hours. Mafia was one of the few games that made me cry at the end, not because of the plot, but because I was sad that it was over

lair was fixed with proper controls, may be worth playing now. still no panzer dragoon but it may at least be good.

Imho, the decline of video games directly correlates with the decreasing number of actual easter eggs.

Now, the easter eggs themselves naturally do not make a game good of their own, but the difference is that, back then, developers actually wanted to create games they themselves would consider fun. It's the same reason why early Nintendo games were comparatively hard but also fun - it was the developers themselves who did play-testing and QA.

The more you go away from this, the more the game becomes a clean, sanitized product whose only purpose is to make money for the publisher. Easter eggs, so long as they can not be created within five minutes, only are wasted work time that could be spent on making more Day 1 DLCs.

Look at Unreal 1. Made by some guys fueled on pizza in the garage of their parents. Breakthrough success.

Now look at modern AAA titles. Hundreds upon hundreds of people working on them, millions spent on cinematic bullshit and photorealistic graphics, and they still suck and are released as buggy messes.

Bump

Bampu

The amount of easter eggs in a game directly correlates with the hellishness of the work required. Easter eggs are a way to relax after crunch, so lots of easter eggs means lots of crunch.

What you're missing in looking at Unreal is that there were hundreds of other shooters being developed by guys eating pizza in garages at that time, and Unreal was one of the few that succeeded, let alone survived. Modern AAA titles have a much higher budget than those garage projects, so having the 75%+ chance of failure that those garage projects had would mean investments in game development are an assured loss - something no impartial person would support.

You can see that garage development dynamic in the more recent mobile gaming boom: hundreds of small teams make low-budget titles, only a few succeed, and those which succeed get investments which turn them into lumbering giants that crush new upstarts. The 'solution' to that universal 'problem' is a community marketplace and smaller teams having the will and ability to compete for a proportional share.

Jedi Academy and Outcast made me feel like this when I realized the had what was probably the best lightsaber gameplay we'll ever get in a Star Wars game.

user I remember. It was one of the only good pre-order experiences I ever had, they even included a small piece of the Berlin wall for the deluxe edition.

That game was a promise of what some RTS's could become. A dream deferred.

No, they pushed the commies out of france, the americans had to whitdraw form europe due a surprise attack on USA soil at the east and west coast, also consider that you play on high risk missions whit doubtful chance of success, Bannon just caused innesesary losses

Forgot to add that the game states how USA is on shortage of officers, bannon might had a better performance on a lower rank, he was more eager to fight than command an entire brigade, the amry might have assigned some hihg rank to supply its officer shortage, Bannon might had performed better as a tank platoon leader than a capitan.

Bump

The Guyver

To Sierra.

MORE
I WANT MORE

Shame it never released one PC. Might've been able to add some colour too it. It's a shame, it was like the western version of Drakengard 1, I really wish it wasn't handicapped by the controls and continued to be a franchise.

I keep forgetting how fucking bad thus Gen is regarding everything.

For context, Crysis 1 for PC was released the same year as Lair.

This game was fucking terrible until they made the motion controls optional.

And the only people who could play it at the time were the good goys that went out and bought new top of the line PC hardware.

Go back to >>>/cuckchan/

Yep. It was literally Rogue Squadron but with dragons. Like it was actually made by Factor 5. How could you fucking loose with Factor 5 making a flying game? Fuck Sony and their fucking motion controls. I get it, motion controls were a new technology and you wanted to get in on the next big thing, but make it optional until it's refined and takes off, otherwise if it doesn't it ruins entire games when it doesn't.

They then decided to port the game, but to PSP. The PSP didn't even support motion controls or have enough buttons on it so you couldn't even complete the game on the PSP at first. Fucking infuriating. Factor 5 deserved better.

I always thought the game was based on a license due to this comic book.

Hows this company still alive?
The PS3 wasnt even selling well at the time.

Are you a woman?

Never heard of it. Any good?

You can take a lot of failures so long as you have a few hits every now and then I guess.

Yes

I really liked what I read
But that was nearly 10 years ago
Its comfy as shit and has a medditeranean feeling/atmosphere instead of generic American/British D&D fantasy.
Sincerely, if you like Conan youll like it, plenty of violence and sex as well.

I'll be sure to check it out. That art looks amazing.

Yeah, world in conflict was pretty fucking amazing to be honest. How many decades it's going to take until we start getting good vidya again?

Its kind of happening
We're getting some games with about the same production values at the time thanks to shit like "free" game engines and checklist games seeing consumer burnout and dyimg like CoD and Asscreed , still a long stretch until we get something more substancial.
AAA is dead though, and even normalfags seem to resent this gen.

Fucking jewgle

Probably the saddest part is that you play classics like Deus Ex, Thief, Jedi Knight, even fucking Derek Smart's autistic fantasies, and you can tell they fully expected the video games of the future to surpass them. Every effort poured into those games was expected to be beaten tenfold within a couple years, as though the developers were taunting each other to go one better. For a decent while, they did try, but the introduction of proper physics simulation and the approach of photoreal graphics precluded investment in actual gameplay.

I'll admit, I was excited for Dark Souls 3, but it was hardly a revolutionary entry. The last time I was excited for a game was 5 years ago you can guess what that was and before that, it was 2007 when Crysis was at maximum hype. Even then you could tell that Crytek wanted to be surpassed by future devs, I'm not saying it was good in every way but it ticked a lot of boxes in pushing the medium further than anything prior. 2007 is really the time everything in the world went sour. Thanks Obama.

Cloudflare has a half-broken feature for protecting email addresses. Sometimes you'll get a cloudflare string instead of the actual contents of an email field, and it will parse pages for addresses and replace them. I've seen it on other sites as well.

[email protected]/* */

The Holy Trinity is fucking glorious.
Ace Combat 7 has a lot to live up to, and I'm getting worried about it since we haven't heard anything about it in forever.

I've actually been excited for countless games from Battlefleet Ghotic to Total WaWa which I'm buying after its completed and this.

And lots of people still play Doom. The original one. Graphics may get old, but good gameplay doesn't.

From that pic, I assume you will enjoy the Panzer Dragoon series.
