Heart of Stone is not that long, around 12 hours I think. Blood and Wine took me longer, around the 25 hour mark but I took my time.

Depends entirely on if you're just playing through the main storyline content or exploring and trying to find stuff. B&W was an entire new area to explore, while HoS was a side storyline on its own with relatively few new things added that weren't directly related to the story.

TW1 sucks, the combat is HORRENDOUS.
Story is decent though.

You even get to fuck a witch and kill an entire village full of stupid peasants that decided they wanted to have an uprising against a witch aided by a super-human warrior who has self-enhancing alchemical potions.

The books happen before the games. In fact, both Yennefer and Geralt die in the end of the last book, and Geralt's miraculous ressurection is a big plot point in the games.
If you are talking about the kid from the first chapter of the second game, than he is given to a village elf and Geralt leaves.

W3 fixes a lot of problems with W2. Combat is much better, the game doesn't have oversaturated colors anymore.
I'd say it's better than 2, although I still like 1 more.

You are playing it wrong.
Owl+Petri+Maribor, either full Igni or full Aard.
If you go Igni you don't even need a fucking sword.
If you go Aard it's just a matter of clicking on stunned enemies in order, they die in one hit.
You don't have to repeatedly press the same button over and over if you don't like it.

Well if I ever re-install it and re-play it I'll set it to easy and go igni or aard so I can enjoy the story.

There is no need to go full easy. I usually beat it on normal like that.
By the end there are some enemies that can't be killed in one hit after using Aard, but at that point you have the Mahakam blade so they aren't even a threat.
I'd also advice to get that mod that increases your running speed as the game has an insane amount of that.

W1 just felt so damn satisfying to play

By the end you're this killing machine mowing down enemies with a not-excalibur from the lady in the lake, knocking hordes of enemies down and setting them alight, while dispatching demons like nothing.

While W2 was roll roll roll, kill some soldiers, one of the route was clearly rushed.

I really, really hate the combat in tw1.
Yeah, I also hated how much I fucking had to run in the stupid forest in the village in the first chapter, also in the city (I quit a little after reaching the city, before going through the gates after buttfucking befriending the captain).

I found act 3 to be rushed as fuck. I also was annoyed that rolling was the fastest way to get around.

It's been many years and can't remember, I think it's the one where you join the non humans? One route is clearly shorter than the other with jumps in story and a lot less fleshing out.

A tip: Geralt runs faster with his sword out. He is the fastest when in group style.
Running with a silver sword is slightly faster than running with a steel one.
Talke out the sword whenever you can.

Great advice but for some reason it doesn't work at funerals.

EE is far better than the normal version. It adds a separate bag for herbs, changes a lot of models and fixes a lot of bugs.
If you can, pirate Gold. It has some additional bugfixes and a couple of extra adventures.

Rise of the white wolf - adds some models to make npcs more varied, is an improvement overall. The UI in in style of TW2, and that UI sucked, don't install it. Just get the models.
