Sure, but depending on which one you play they can have some clever puzzle solving elements, or entertaining storylines that propel you forward. Sierra's adventure games are really enjoyable, and yes you can plow through them a bit. Adventure games never where about a test of reflexes or anything like that, it was about getting the player to pay attention, put the clues together, and solve their way through a storyline.

Yes its hard to get modern players to acclimate to them, but if you can work at it you can see what's so good about adventure games too. Its definetely harder for players who didn't start with them. My recs for them? Under a killing moon and pandora directive are easy for begginers adventure games. Once you get the hang of the hard stuff jump into the later games.

My personal opinion? For the fact of all the puzzles solving in old adventure games, the work you had to put in. I don't find them all that similar to the walking simulators and the like that come out in the last 5 to 7 years or so.

Stardew or just go full Rune Factory. Comfy, mildly autistic and you set the pace. Also unlike say Rance you avoid making it bigger or ripping the skin while conserving lifesaving fluids.
