They killed millions of workers

They killed millions of workers.

The workers knew who they were working for.

They probably had no choice in the matter, or were desperate for money whilst under the Empire's oppressive fist. They bore no responsibility.

...

A whole literal galaxy of opportunity. It wasn't a communist government and didn't force people to work for it.
They bear all the risk that comes with the job. If you don't want to die in a cave collapse, don't be a miner.

Pretty sure there was nothing in the contract saying they risked being attacked by terrorists. Regardless, they were innocent people.

As if there's anything in any construction contract stating that being attacked by terrorists is a risk. Why would that clause be in any construction job? Terrorists can attack just about anything, any where, at any time. I'm not sure you've ever held a blue-collar job because "terrorist attack" is abnormal to work related injury and would be labeled as "freak accident".

So you're saying that Lando and the rest of the rebels are responsible for those millions of civilian casualties?

To save billions.

They shot the generator, they caused it to explode. Who would you say caused the deaths?

Didn't Clerks already settle this whole argument?

George said the Death Star was built by Genosians, you just never saw them on screen because they're a retcon.

In the nu canon the Death Stars were probably built by droids, realistically there's no reason everything in Star Wars wouldn't be run by droids.

Death stars were top secret military projects. And the workers were slaves, and possibly droids.

Leftist Rebel, despite successfully "rebel" against the empire and became the ruling power, they still call themselves "rebel" for sympathy bucks and deflect any criticism, really makes you think if the writers wrote these scripts based on reality.

Droids maybe but slaves do not build highly technical secret projects. They move materials and get crushed by falling materials other slaves pushed over on to them.

collateral damage is not people

In both legends and nu-canon, the wookiees were enslaved to construct the death star. They're a technically skilled & strong species. The entire reason for the battle on Kashyyyk in ep 3 was so palpatine could gain control over it and, after order 66, he basically enslaved the planet the clones "saved" from the CIS. The whole slavery thing is kind of seen a bit in Force Unleashed.

They were working on a top secret military project.
Which payed well do to the risks involved.
The thing was a giant doomsday weapon after all.

Alt-Reddit confirmed for never having seen understood the prequels

Rebels exist in the prequels? care to point out which episode?

That was pre-prequel EU canon. Ep2 revealed it was the insect-like Geonosians who did the construction work, possibly because Lucas was squeamish about the death toll post-Clerks "outside contractors" discussion.

Geonosians helped design it, and early construction was done by Geonosis, but the bulk of the work was always done by wookiees. This is even said in Tarkin, which is canon.

addendun:
Tarkin mentions construction by Geonosis.
Thrawn (canon) mentions mass use of slaves, specifically wookiees.
