Why do far leftists make such a big deal about extraction of natural resources and what is their solution to it?
You can't expect people to go on with without cars and electricity and smart phones and plastics after the revolution, can you? I thought increasing the standard of living is your endgame.
Explain.
Chase Morgan
because if the natural world is destroyed, we won't be alive to use cars, electricity, smart phones and plastics. is this a serious question?
Alexander Johnson
Maybe others mean it differently, but I think resources should be used to their fullest extent, as long as it benefits humans and doesn't have any long-term side effects. The issue is that resources are being extracted from other people's lands, and not to the benefit of the people of that land. The elite of a country might make use of a natural resource, but by selling it to a foreign power and enriching themselves while their people are impoverished and might not even have access to it themselves.

smart phones under capitalism
smart phones under socialism

kek.
Because we do it insufficiency, capitalism here waste too much to produce a single product, and after the compunction of the product there will be even more waste.
That is a bad system fam, we need to make the most that we can possibly can of the least that we can afford and have
Energy will go full nuclear and green And products will be far better quality "unlike today planned obsolescence" and with the minimum production waste.
But never fool yourself, if you want to save the plant you will need to engineer it to fullest and try to control nature itself.
Cameron Allen
Maybe if you're a tend whore. I am a poorfag and I still use my smartphone from 2011. Planned obsolescence is a meme.
Owen Bennett
my cheap android phone: That's planned obsolescence. Meanwhile I can run modern Linux distros on laptops that are over ten years old, no problem.
Leo Myers
Don't need an SD cars and my battery is removable.
Planned obsolescence is just people seeing a jump from 9 megapixel camera to an 11 megapixel camera and convincing themselves they need it.
Luis Wilson
No. It's a design and engineering trend, and it goes beyond consumer tech gadgets.
Wrong. That's marketing.
Blake Morales
It's a lot more involved than that. Using sub-optimal solder alloys to induce premature malfunction, repair prevention, and lack of forward compatibility are all real examples of planned obsolescence that have nothing to do with marketing.
Parker Brooks
complete moron
Benjamin Perry
How do you tell that OP?
Connor Foster
Certain resources are very limited in quantity. Certain methods of extraction are very damaging to the environment. We should aim to preserve the environment long enough for us to develop the technology to either repair the damage or move to a new planet. Running out of certain resources would hinder that goal.
Use resources wisely. Scientific research is a good use, as is feeding people and keeping transport and communication links up. Designing consumer products to break after 2 years so that people are forced to buy replacements is simply wasteful. Expending scarce resources on fighting each other and killing innocent people is even more wasteful and abhorrent.
It is. If you think our current patterns of resource acquisition and usage are optimal for that goal, then you're an idiot.

One time a Holla Forumsetarian who works installing HVAC systems made an insightful and informative post about why you're full of shit, I wish I had screencapped it
Brayden Bell
worked in a factory that made refrigerators the tech to make fridges that could last for 100 years has been around since like the 40's. We just dont use it
Isaiah Richardson
It's a delusion. Socialist states were horrific to their environments (see: the entirety of Aral Sea) and relied on resource extraction for the economy.
No political movement gives a shit about the environment other than Greenies - and nobody takes greenies seriously.
Human civilization on Earth will either collapse, or convert the Earth into a ecumenopolis centuries from now. There will be no middle ground. Humans are not creatures of compromise. We will either destroy the environment around us or we will be destroyed by it.
Jason Fisher
You seem to be under the impression that we approve of the various "socialist" states throughout history.
Lucas Ross
Only when it's convenient for you, you do.
Regardless I do not expect you to act any differently to any other human system of governance throughout history in regards to the environment: thus, Earth is doomed.
Aaron Garcia
Environmentalism has always been a part of socialism.
Robert Phillips
Cool. Now, do you have anything to contribute besides prophesies of doom?
Hudson Walker
Cry about it all you want, but it won't change the fact that your revolution will be fighting over the scraps.
