It's a language which makes it possible for lower skilled programmers to be used as interchangeable cogs. It's not the most simple in terms of complexity, but it was designed to be a far simpler alternative to C++, specifically removing the need for memory management which is a massive source of bugs and erroneous behaviour in the hands of a low-skilled programmer. It's a sort of goldie locks level of complexity, being flexible enough for a wide spectrum of requirements, and easy enough for an Indian to use. While it has found use in the corporate world, Java implementations showcase poor performance (relative to compiled languages) and is absolutely disgusting in terms of design.

How? Crap code is not particularly easy to drop new people into. Besides that, memory management is a serious burden even for expert programmers, and actually isn't something that should have to be dealt with in most programs. The other thing that makes Java (and Python and others) easier is the third-party libraries to slot in instead of having to write everything from scratch, again, something to avoid.

Since book recommendation can be a part of this thread: For you beginners who have forgotten everything about math: AoPS Pre-Algebra or Serge Lang's Basic Mathematics would be a good start. After that you could take (in the case of the prior) Spivak's (or Bartle's) Analysis book (maybe skipping the first chapter in Spivak which is unintuitive). In the case of the latter you would do AoPS Introduction to Algebra. After that you would follow the same path as before (actually, you could pick up the intermediate algebra book, but that's leagues beyond most).
You would also want to look into the USACO online training pages if CS is your thing. he key thing many lack is the ability to problem solve, & things like this help in cultivating that skill.
For geometry recommendations, AoPS Intro. to Geo., then Evan Chen's EGMO would be good books (I don't know if you necessarily need a bridge between these two).

If you find you really love mathematics, the best undergraduate Analysis books I've seen is this 3 volume set by Amann and Escher. Only for the whitest of the whites though. Another really good option is Zorich's two volume set (which is better if you want physics applications).

there are lots of free educational resources, its a widely used and taught language. the syntax is quite messy, after a while it becomes quite obvious its patchwork of code libraries. Good enough for an android app or a windows business application, which is big part of the programming market. It is a bit of a lazy language, being that people just bolt on a pre built class library to do the heavy lifting without much understanding of the inner working of that class library. Some of the better IDE's make it really easy. perfect for pajeets who are lazy and don't care.

This is very useful to show others when trying to demonstrate deeply ingrained cultural differences.
