Calm down autismo, you probably won't be using this thing out of it's dock for more than 2 hours a day tops. The 3DS' hardware is laughably bad and the battery lasts around 5 hours so I'm not terribly upset about this one being just 3.

Charger is a usb-c port, located under the console.
No proprietary port means at least I can use my external battery on it.

If the Wii U can get 4 hours or can be fitted with the slightly bigger battery to get 6 hours of battery life, and there won't be a constant wireless drain like the Wii U console to Gamepad data streaming.

Going by that, maybe Nintendo could possibly get at least 4 hours minimum or have the optional longer battery at launch (or possibly included as a launch version exclusive).

The Xbone is going on three years old and is quite clearly considered the weakest out of the two systems. The switch would have to at least be as strong as the Wii-U, bare minimum. Let's keep in mind here that the original goal of the Tegra chip was to get console level graphics on a handheld. And this switch uses a custom version of said chip. Which could mean anything.

So trying to figure out if they'd take it a little further than Wii-U isn't dreaming, it's simply speculation. Being a hybrid obviously nips any chance at it being equal to the standard PS4. But I don't see why you're acting like it's absolutely impossible for it to at least get into the ballpark, that would allow for decent ports to be made. Which would be around the xbox one.

Because nintendo's previous philosophy that being weaker doesn't instantly mean success so they've previously ALWAYS gone with cheaper, budget consoles with good quality games.

You can see how this fucked them over repeatedly by CoDbabies whining about "no third party multiplats, while most sane people praised them for their ability to say "fuck you" to the tyranny of companies like EA and bethesda and survive.

Before this point nintendo has been attempting to be an accessory, a console you buy with other consoles, which is why the wiiU failed because they actually attempted to get other companies to develop and expected them to help fill out the library, when most of the people that helped out with the Wii moved on, which really sucks. Nintendo was only half focusing on their first party line up and the WiiU suffered greatly for this.

And then here is the switch, they're actively advertising it as a console for multiplats, and it's portable. They're either going to throw away their affordable philosophy or they're going to gimp the shit out of it hardware wise.

Affordability and hardware is more of a sliding scale. You can't have an affordable and powerful console unless you sell it at a loss which is also something nintendo tries to avoid like the plague, and it's understandable, it is what consistently keeps sony's consoles from making money, sony itself doesn't make barely any money off the playstation hardware, they mostly make it up with all the licensing fees. Nintendo has no such luxury as they're not the type to dip their fingers into as many pies as possible, so it wouldn't be smart to sell the console at a loss. So either this is going to be new, expensive technology that has hardware resting somewhere between the PS4 and Xbone, or it's going to be cheap, older technology that is less powerful than the xbone but will inevitably be more affordable.
