You only play as a samurai in MGR if you play as Sam.
Raiden fighting style is ninja-like, Sam is the powerhouse samurai.
However Sam is an unconventional samurai with strong brazilian influences in his style, so it might not be what OP needs.

Emulate Bushido Blade 1&2 for ps1. Furi is also pretty good if you're the kind of rebel that plays post 90's games.

Is there an undub to Bushido Blade 2 or do I have to use the JP version to get rid of the cheesy English voices?
I've never heard of an undub or nip audio for the game but a quick jewgle search shows there might be. Probably in the options. I remember bothering with them as a kid so who knows.
