St Louis is divided between St Louis city and St Louis county. The metro area is huge, but most people live in the county so the city numbers seem low. St Louis is actually a perfect case study in white flight. The city itself is almost perfectly segregated between white areas and black areas (with far fewer white areas). The county used to be all whites who fled the city, but blacks have now conquered north county and are slowly penetrating into South and even West county (West tends to be middle class to upper middle class and most of their non-whites are pajeets and Asians).
