2 rebirth have not touched, but has multiple endings, something which would have improved 3 quite a bit
1 has some difficulty spikes which require level grinds and exe drive grinds.

The spinnoffs vary, but some trophies for them will require grinds. Blanc and Action U are musous, noire is a tactics rpg, and producing is rythem.

I'm currently playing through Neptune vs Sega Hard Girls. It does some interesting things mechanically, like adding time pressure to missions. There's also a bit more depth to the dungeon navigation, you can sprint to jump higher/farther and there's climbing/moving across rope/crawling through crawlspaces(IF butt).

Basically, when you select quests (which is how the storyline is also doled out) they all have a counter beside them. Whenever you complete a quest, the counter beside all of the other quests counts down by one. When the counter reaches zero the quest is gone. Some quests expire faster than others.

You can no longer pick which types of attacks are in the combos. You can cycle through what seems to be a pre-set collection of attacks. If you have a weapon that has an elemental effect there is a chance that this will apply to some of the hits. You can still use skills and things like that.

During battles there is the AG meter. it is split up into three sections, blue, green and red. Attacking, skills, and deciding to move after defeating an enemy fills up the meter. If the meter hits the red-zone that character has to wait longer for their turn. If you do so little during the turn that you're still in the blue zone you can end the turn defensively. This means you can pop a heal item/attack once and then end the turn on defense. If you're feeling confident you can also do a charge attack, where you can hold the attack button until the AG meter fills to do a more damaging attack, but this carries all of the penalties of using up your AG.

I was a bit delighted when I got started on playing the game earlier today and heard that.

V-II is fantastic. I doubt there will be a vita version since it was a ps4 game unless they want to sacrifice performance a lot, but since westerners don't use the vita as much as the PC and PS4, I highly doubt they'll make a vita port.

I finally got around to playing more of Iffy's game and it's really good, too. I still like V-II more, but this is one of the funniest Nep games. Segami is no longer as annoying as she was early on anymore either. I was going to give her the title Little Shit 3 (after Ram and Peashy), but that doesn't seem necessary now. Translations haven't been an issue after the rebirth games as far as I know. The battle system is different from the Rebirth games though. I like it more than Rebirth's. The class system is pretty interesting, too, though it sometimes screws you over when you change to a low level class and forget your stats dropped by a lot and get destroyed.
Iffy is also a better protagonist than Neptune. And sexier.

Keep in mind geki noire IS an alt universe with a Noire who has had success conquering the world; while mainline noire IS headstrong, ambitious and aggressive from the get to, but eventually gets beaten down somehow and discovers the need for allies and the power of friendship etc… Geki noire was like that but won, so stayed more like that.

On another hand; regarding the dubs themselves vs the original audio (both with localized text) Noire's english is more abrasive/bitchy versus the japanese cutesy headstrong/tsun

Noire is a little bitchy to begin with, but bad subs (and even worse bad dubs) can make it a lot worse. She's one of those characters that are pretty easy to ruin, kind of like Ram (see: original Rebirth 2 translation) unless you are careful. But if you are, she's pretty charming in her own way.

Oddly enough I end up preferring her fan translated material rather than the stuff that's been put out by IFI.

Nothing in RB1 matters anyway. All subsequent games are in different dimensions and different characters because of that.
Also, the fuck you doing? Go play RB2 first.

The games get more polished as they go along. That includes the original variations. HDN was barely playable, Mk.2 (RB2 v1.0) was a huge step up, and then Victory (RB3 v1.0) was another huge jump. RB1 and RB2 are very similar to Victory (although RB2 is a bit more complex on that front), and RB3 has further improvements. It's very strange to see a series get better as time goes on like this, usually its on the other way around.

Oh yeah, when you wrap up RB3 (might as well wrap the game you are playing first), give RB2 a quick playthrough or two. And if you do, uh, make sure you up those Lily Ranks a bit. And if you don't, don't give Planeptune +75% shares. Or at least be careful to who you talk to via chirper if you can't avoid either. Just a friendly suggestion.

You can't get conquest on your first playthrough anyway. Unless you know how to get it and aim for it. This is because you need all four CPU's for it which involves lots of share grinding.

It's quite possible to do Conquest on your first try, I've seen people do it by mistake. I was just trying to up the odds of that happening.

DLC characters don't affect the main quest; that'll mainly revolve around Neptune, Plutia, Nepgear and one other character. Plus Noire-Blanc-Vert, of course.

And early game the Oracles (Histy, Kei, Mina, Chika) in particular are basically cheats.

Play RB2 then V-II. Then if you liked them, go play RB1. A lot of people would recommend RB1 first, but I've seen a lot of people play RB1 and then not like RB2 because nothing in RB1 matters since it was retconned in the second game.
Well, technically RB1 was more of a spinoff of the original game on the PS3 that Mk2 was a retcon of, but either way, you can play it after playing the games that matter in the overall story.

Then you can go fap to the character. Though most doujins with good art are yuri, so hope you like that shit. Most het stuff has horrible art or is rape.

Gameplay for the rebirth games is average for this genre, it gets the job done. Playing RB;1-3 will give you fatigue with the system they use if you play through them straight. V-II (the newest one) is an improvement on the gameplay in my opinion that hopefully continues.

Most does not include Haru, obviously.

Gameplay in V-II is good. RB2 is hit or miss. The story and characters and humor are what you will be playing that one for.

VII is easy to recommend from a gameplay and story standpoint, it blows away all the previous games without any question, for a change. But the price for it…now it if it's Winter Sale then it's no contest of course (that is unless you are running on console, in which case you're looking a lighter wallet still).
