Whats the best Chapo Trap House episodes?

Whats the best Chapo Trap House episodes?

Just started listening to the latest episodes and I think these guys are fantastic. I sort of want to go back to older episodes, but I worry they will be too election "What will we do when Hillary wins" heavy.

Older ones are all about the election but have some great memes

My favorites are the civil war episode with Matt Karp and the Chase Madar thing exposing the porkiness of human rights advocacy

Are they even leftists? They sound pretty liberal tbh

Marxist demsocs as far as I can tell

They really aren't liberals unless you have some sort of bizarre purity test

If you acknowledge race or feminist issues or aren't setting up a guerilla movement this second you're a liberal on Holla Forums.

Jeremy Scahill episode.

Dirty Wars 2: Rise of McRaven
A Problem From Heck
No Cucks in A Foxhole
Justified But Woke
Both Freeway Ross Douthat eps

Nah, they aren't liberals. More demsoc than anything. Their actual theoretical knowledge is nonexistent and only a couple of them have read Marx. They do have a very class oriented world view and reject the idpol crap.

Only Matt has read Marx, he even read capital or some of it with the David Harvey companion, Will has read a fuckton of other books and is aware of general leftist authors like Zizek, Felix is the pure meme man.

Only Matt has read Marx. He seems to be the only one interested in theory.

Felix has a pretty good handle on foreign policy. Especially in regards to the Middle East.

listened to an hour of it. just seemed like verbal shitposting so I turned it off.

Amber has read Marx too which I guess is easy to forget since she's new. They don't know a lot of theory. That doesn't mean they lack insight in other areas. I just wouldn't expect much out of them on actual Marxism or Anarchism.

Looks like someone didn't read the newyorker article or the nymag piece and doesn't know these guys wee exposed as being white. They're white. They're white men.

What the fuck I hate these guys now

shitpost flag was still on, fug

Eww. Why would I waste my time listening to a podcast without PoC and their white femal allies?

Well luckily they added someone who identifies as a woman and a man of ambiguous racial make-up to satisfy the masses.

I think for a Holla Forumser #5 is definitely a good entry point because it's mocking the pseudo-insurrectionist Right. #34 mocks the Alt-Right and Milo's fans.

If you're into the Middle-East, #52 is pretty good.

wtf i hate chapo now

looks like i'm /hillary artillery/

The "these chapo guys have no theory" meme sounds like the sort of conclusion an autistic GMIL reader would have because he can't compute the idea that someone might read Marx and speak about something other than Bordiga and not drop "material conditions" and "dialectical relationship" every sentence tbh

This. Felix can always relate any situation back to Shia Islam somehow.

Matt is /ourguy/

lol, look at this holy trinity of numale queeros

Are these niggas serious?

...

He's basically the average modern Swede, I'll grant you that.

Most socialists that our interested in theory have at least read a little Marx. I'd say that's a big indicator. Unless they're anarchists but they don't really seem like it tbh. It's not really the end of the world. You can have an informed opinion without reading socialist theory.

Love that projection.

t. Chapo Trap House

What projection? Gay knows gay nigga.

That's not even the point I'm trying to make. Not a meme and I don't think I've seen hardly anyone else mention it. I'm just saying they aren't deep into the theory and that's apparent from their support of DSA. Most of them haven't even read Marx and have said so on the show, which I assume most everyone here including anarchists have(I did when I was an anarchist). Maybe my definition of "having theory" is biased because I made a hobby of studying this stuff a decade ago and generally try to discuss it with people better read than I am(outside of Holla Forums). Always talking to people more knowledgeable than me probably warps my expectations a bit too. I know being a theory dork isn't normal and in my case isn't at all helpful so I wasn't trying to demean them.

I'm actually glad they don't fill their podcasts with jargon and autistic economic or philosophic ramblings. They talk like normal human beings and the topics they cover they do so in an intelligent/informed manner. They've got more than enough knowledge outside the hardcore theory for what they're doing. I probably shouldn't have even mentioned it because I didn't mean it as a dig. Been a fan of the podcast since the beginning. Even subscribe to them which, being a pirate, I almost never do for anything.

Also, yeah, I'm a leftcom. You caught me. I feel like we're a bit misunderstood I guess because most either haven't read quite enough or have gotten so deep into it they can't communicate their ideas without jargon and references to obscure shit no normal person has the time/motivation to read. I should probably be a better poster and try to discuss my thoughts and theory in a more earnest manner myself. Just treating the board as entertainment alone doesn't exactly help board quality and there isn't a whole lot of political work I can actually do in my area at the moment.

tldr autistic ramblings, ignore me.

Well your gaydar needs calibrating bud. Matt is a hypermasculine man's man who only sticks his hog in cishet female mud holes.

Nice one berniebro. They're all cishet white men, even Virgil and Amber.

Bruh, even in watercolor, these are the three gayest men I've ever laid eyes on.

lol nigga any man named "amber" has definitely seen some strange dongs up close.

The fact that you had to qualify the last two with "even" is proof that you're aware of this.

Amber is a woman and Virgil might not be white. Hence the even.

...

...

But I digress. Sexually normal leftist is an oxymoron. The three beardos pictured are definitely queer. The physiognomy is there. Terminal gayface.

The dude was joking…

itt: Autists don't get a joke.

Episodes 38 (where they talk about Nike's hypocrisy and working standards. They also have a breddy gudd impersonation of Ben Shapiro at the beginning), 42 (about Silicon Valley and the sort of vision they have for the rest of the world, and how horrifying that is), 58 (that's the one right after the elections, really good venting at the democrats). Less relevant but there's the episode when they review Suicide Squad, that's also pretty entertaining but obviously not very political (still a little bit political, though).

Suicide Squad one is great for all the MRA and family court memes

I'm all for mocking Holla Forums for being anti-intellectual, but we shouldn't pretend that you need to be well-versed in dense literature to have a worldview that isn't stupid.

Leftist theory isn't known for its brevity.

The post-election vindication and popularity of Chapo is so, so sweet. Liberal twitter on damage control.

As for theory, Chapo makes more sense when you realize they’re all chums with the Jacobin dudebros. Not hardcore into theory, although informed by it, and comfortable with demsoc solutions with Marxist reasoning.

Liberal twitter on suicide watch, more like.

I meant socdem not demsoc

are we being trolled

The Caleb episode and the Ross Douthat episode if you want something funny, if you want something informative this + the Ukraine and the American Civil War episodes

They're definitely Marxists, they just keep their power level hidden under a thin layer of irony to not scare away normies

I started with episode 42 no cucks in a fox hole and that's probably the funniest episode

All the post New Yorker/Election Chapo episodes have been god tier.

Fucking Liberals in meltdown to the point they are just acting like sperging ragelords at a fucking obscure cult podcast.

Also once again shows how much Liberals hate us on the left more than they hate the right.

kek this

I had never heard of them, until I saw lefties on my twitter defending them. And now I'm about to listen to my 1st episode. Lel great job liberals

This

I'd also tell everyone to check out the Street Fight episode which was sort of the genesis of the podcast, all 3 of the guys review the Benghazi Movie, it's fucking amazing.

Year Zero, the first post-election episode. Felix's rant about the Clinton campaign at the Javitts Center is fucking GREAT
