It seems like they will continue treading the same path with the WiiU since they're going to focus on a wider audience, kill off every other IP, and still keep doing amiibo, eshop crap. Now that the Switch features a portable console, I can only hope it lasts more than 5 hours unplugged and the OS is more friendly to third parties to kinda simulate the apps available for phones, which would then make the Switch even more popular and successful.

it will sell well because it's different and portable. Portable gaming has had a huge gap in the market, so much so that people still use 3DS'. Only problem with stuff like that is limited games. Also they're promising to work much harder with other companies to bring their games to the new console. It will be a success but it probably won't be worth buying if the hardware is limited to the portable device which it most likely will be. I'm more interested in the Smach Z which doubles as a controller and can can be used to broadcast games to with Steam.
