If someone was lying why would you only chastise them privately? Bauer could not have been the only one to notice this, to question it, to investigate it, and find out it was bunk. Instead, it only comes out in 2017? So it took 38 years to get the word out?
Apparently the lie was acceptable, Weisenthal's reputation had to stay intact, until "the 5 million" started to work against the Jews and so they only got rid of it when it seemed useful for attacking the Trump administration, but milked it to make the Holocaust tally look intersectional to make others care. But now it's TOO intersectional and Jews aren't getting enough attention so then they ditch the lie?

Where's your reading comprehension? Those yids say that the 5 million goyim is the fake number here, they agree about the 6 million jews. The whole dispute was that Wiesenthal added 5 million goyim to the holohoax toll as an attempt at telling the goyim that they also died, so it's also their own tragedy and they should deeply care about the hoax.
