Humming birds are like people who have awake and sleep states, when a humming bird is awake its like their body is in hyper mode because their metabolism is insane, so when they sleep in order to save energy their body goes into an oxygen deprivation state in order to slow it down enough to rest, basically only keeping enough oxygen for bare essential body functions/keeping the brain alive/tissue from dying

When the humming bird starts to wake up, it starts taking in huge gasps of air for a few minutes in order to restore oxygen to the body to resume functioning, what you are seeing is the bird still asleep but beginning the process of waking up

I feel if anything is lacking from your bump its synchronicity with transitions and the music.

Webm posted has 3 instances that use this. Opening, explosion and CIA guy. Not everything needs to snyc to the music, but adding that bit of detail takes a good webm and makes it a great webm.

1st clip: clue card passes the middle of the camera right as the beat drops.

5th clip: Umaru's face turns at the same time as the ring.

13th clip: Jet strikes the tires on the off-beat.

16th clip: Doors burst open on the start of the drum break.

18th clip: During fade out, clip changes on the music's off-beat.

21st clip: Daisy gets nailed at the same time as the ring.

39th clip: Rocket strikes building on the beat.

And during the whole thing, clips transition in and out evenly with the beat. If there is any kind of criticism I would expect on this thing, the least would be from not lining up the music and the clips.

Perhaps it's the quickness it happens that cause it to not feel significant.
I get that you can't have long bits when you have a ton of webms that you're using. Still, when you compare the two one defiantly stands out more than the other and I think that's due to those well executed transitions that sync with the music.

Here is another that sort of cheats and uses the infinity filter to sort of keep the rhythm instead of relying on the videos them self. Even though its just the filter changing rotation with each crash sound it still gives a bit of personality.

Again, don't usually get the chance to talk to the maker of this kind of thing so I just wanted to give some ideas that might make a better bumper.

The only thing lining up with the audio in this is the logo tilting, and even that doesn't line up many times. The clip transitions seem somewhat uniform, but not in tandem with the music.

The reason why long segments work in the first bumper is because the music supports it. The music I've chosen to use doesn't work so well that way, and I'd rather sync transitions to a consistent beat than showcase just a few clips. Looking at what I have for the one I'm working on now, I find both the clips and the music I've chosen to be even more suitable for that purpose and less suitable for what was done in the first bumper. I'm still looking for interesting things to make happen on downbeats, but I care more about framing the action within the logo overlay.

I would also like to do an animated logo tilt, but I make these entirely with ffmpeg and haven't found a way to pull off that effect. I don't think it's supported. I could possibly make a separate clip that does a similar thing with AviSynth and use that as an overlay, but that would complicate the process too much for me.
