Here's an exercise I was forced into doing in school several years ago.
First they moved all the desks from the middle of the room and then line everyone up. Next they had everyone line up. The idea of the activity is simple. If you agree with a statement being said, you walk to the other side of the room.
With the statements being said, first they start neutral, but agreeing or disagreeing is not controversial. For example: Did you eat cereal today?
These types of statements are chosen to get people introduced to the game. After everyone understands how it works,the statements move on to things that everyone in the group agrees on. Then one a few of those have been used, the statement is switched to something they want you to think, and they believe most others do to.
When people realize that they are the only one with a differing opinion, they are not going to do such a bold thing as walk across the room and be judged by everyone else. This exercise makes people on the fence, or don't know better (like children), able to be swayed to one side or strengthen an existing belief.

This works pretty well on normalfags, but especially well on females. It didn't work on me since I'm neither of those.
