Not even correct. Sol used to be called Frederick Mercury (yeah get it?) and had a lover called Aria. They worked together with That Man on creating weapons from a new energy form that was labeled magic (taken from another dimension). They then start a biological weapons program and successfully make the first Gear (from animals or some shit). Frederick (Sol) somehow turns himself into the first humanoid gear prototype. Then That Man turns Aria into a Gear called Justice that can control other Gears. Sol finds out about this and swears vengeance on That Man. That is literally all his motivation for hating That Man.

Justice is deployed in warfare and when stationed in Japan regains sentience (though with no memories of being Aria), Japan is utterly demolished and Justice goes on a human extinction crusade for 100 years.

That is the backstory.

Guilty Gear has some stupid stuff in it but its generally pretty contained. At least until Accent Core. Either way I have to go I guess I can continue later.

There is absolutely nothing in the entire series that even implies they are related.

I think the "re-ignite the war" part got retconned after GG2 and Xrd came out. Now all he seems to want to do is fix his mistakes and study more of the "backyard", while trying to guide humanity forward his own way.

I-no is from a different timeline. She doesn't belong in the timeline that Guilty Gear happens in. In her timeline (original timeline) Ky dies as a child soldier prodigy and the shining symbol of the Holy Order of Knights. After Ky dies the holy order becomes incredibly demoralized and I can't remember if they completely disappear. Justice gets killed off by Dizzy and then Dizzy starts murdering fucking everything at 100% power. The last we saw of that timeline was something like May suicide ramming Dizzy with the Mayship while overloading the thermonuclear reactor on board the ship (because Dizzy had killed Johnny earlier). Dizzy came out unharmed. Then That Man told I-No that the timeline was pretty much done for and she had to go save Ky to prevent that timeline from existing.

Thus I-No saved Ky. The Holy Order of Knights continue to rule strong and we end up in the Guilty Gear timeline.

So if you wanna create fan theories and bullshit you can say I-No and the ghost girl haunting Zappa are the same person due to time fuckery or something. I have no fucking clue how that would work though. For that matter, Raven was also theorized to be Axel who went back in time to the vikings or something and had to live all the way to the current age again. But its all speculation, theories and general bullshit.

The explanation for Raven is not quite that dumb, from what I remember. He became immortal and forever unchanging, which made him crazy as shit. Raven repels Axel because time travel fuckers and eternally stagnant beings are like oil and water in GG and don't mix at all.

At this point I don't even know if her and Elphelt will have any major plot relevance outside of "trying to find their place in the world". They may have moments with the new Aria (either for comedic or tender moments) and obviously be available to play in the next game (lest Arc System Works feels the wrath of a thousand players being pissed of losing their main), but other than that not much else.

What a proper game needs is a lively shade of lime green; the color of nature, right choices and a happy lifestyle. But the good people at Arc System Works quickly recognized their mistake and added Hazama in the sequel Continuum Shift. He has an interesting playstyle revolving around green snakes, his hair is green, color palette overall began to include more green and everyone became happy. This same reason is also why i can't get into Guilty Gear. Their colors all clash with each other, creatin a clusterfuck of a show and yet there's no proper green to be seen at anywhere. I don't want to play as red hothead or blue handsome or orange kid or blue yellow black white dark-green ms. my wings are moving on their own, i want to feel the liveliness and the joy of a character. When i found that Raven from would be appearing as a DLC for GGXrd #Revelator i was super excited because he was kick ass to play as in Overture but no, they turned him into some edgy ying yang boring anime psychopath number 8.

Baiken, Zappa, and Robo Ky appear in the story of Revelator so they're definitely getting in.

I remember that story. I-no lures Ky into a bunch of Gears out of boredom and gets him killed in the Battle of Rome. Sol takes over as grand commander of the Holy Order because Kliff doesn't really have a better choice. Ky isn't around to be the charismatic brains of the operation, so one year later, humanity is on the brink of complete annihilation at the hands of a Command Gear Dizzy that isn't holding back.

Axl is all over the place, because fucking time travel. He's not really all that important to the story, but his own adventures are pretty interesting and all his branching paths in #Reload and Accent Core happened. I think in Xrd, he's given a bit role. He's a walking plot device, and after he's done with that, he's pretty much spiraling into depression because everything he's tried to return to his own time has failed. The dude's the Britbong Samurai Jack. He's also one of the few genuine friends Sol has, but once again, not important. Taken by himself, Axl's kinda cool, but in the grand scheme of things, he's got the potential to be the most important character on the roster but doesn't use it.

Sol (his name was Frederick when he was human) was the first human who that man turned into a gear, that's why Justice couldn't control him in the first Guilty Gear game because he is the prototype gear.

Given how revelator's story went, he could actually return to his time period. However, if he did that, the world GG takes place in would be destroyed. He'd essentially destroy a whole universe if he used all his power to return to his original time (AKA typical time travel bullshit). He chose not to however, because even if his girlfriend (the main reason he wants to go back to his timeline) forgave him for what he did, he wouldn't be able to forgive himself.

You are right about him most likely going into depression though. Even knowing he sacrificed his own desire to protect the world he's in now, he has to live with the knowledge that he's like I-no and not really human, and can never truly go back without fucking up the world he's in now, he's got very little reason to live life at this point (unlike Sol now who just got Aria back, giving him a reason to live now).

Also, fun fact about Jam in Xrd Revelator; her panties change color and patterns depending on the day of the week.

Why would they make a retcon to remove a character? Making a retcon to allow one to be added makes more sense from a business standpoint.

It's more likely that Axl will just hook up with I-No or someone, or his girlfriend uses time travel to reach him (unless she was Zappa's ghost all the time).

Also Robo-Ky is the guy, he is the DLC I'd buy
